Rest In Peace Ars Magna aka ImbuedGold

Dream Cancel will like to express our deepest condolences to the recent passing of an EXTREMELY important KOF/SNK community member, Ars Magna aka ImbuedGold. He frequently shared many great fighting game videos on his youtube channel, especially those of the SNK brand.

For myself, his channel was one of the first KOF/SNK YouTube channels that I subscribed to years ago when I first started playing King of Fighters. I frequently checked his channel for obscure high level gameplay videos that I had trouble finding anywhere else on YouTube.

The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match Now Backward Compatible On Xbox One

If you remember back in 2015, our good friends & KOF community partners at orochinagi.com, posted a poll for interest in backward compatible King of Fighters games on the Xbox One system:

Last year, King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match was made compatible for Xbox One, and now, King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match is currently backwards compatible:

Hopefully, we might see future SNK titles backward compatible for Xbox One & hopefully some backward compatible titles for PS4 too!

SNK Classic Neo-Geo Titles King of Fighters 98, Waku Waku 7, Metal Slug 3, World Heroes Perfect & Shock Troopers Will Be Released On The Nintendo Switch

Famitsu has reported that King of Fighters 98, Waku Waku 7, Metal Slug 3, World Heroes Perfect, and Shock Troopers will appear on the Nintendo Switch system soon! The Nintendo Switch will be released in March!

Fu’un Super Combo (Savage Reign & Kizuna Encounter) Gameplay Trailer Video Released By SNK

Yesterday, SNK released the Japan only PS2 title Fu’un Super Combo which is a double pack compilation game of two Neo-Geo titles released in the mid 90s’, Savage Reign & Kizuna Encounter on PSN for PS4 players on PSN here in North America. USA players more than likely have played both of these titles on the Neo-Geo in the past either on it’s console or in the arcades.

Savage Reign was released in 1995. The player controls one of 9 characters (2 bosses). The most identifiable character players may recognize is Hayate who appeared as a unlockable character in King of Fighters XI.

Kizuna Encounter (Super Tag Battle) is the sequel to Savage Reign. It was released in late 1996. There are 10 playable characters, and it is tag-based; the players selects two characters on one team.

Both games are available now on PSN. Look under the catagory: PS2 on PS4 in the Games section to find it!

Samurai Showdown VI North American Version Now Available on PSN For PS4

Samurai Showdown VI is now ready for purchase and download for PS4 here in North America!

The title is a US ps2 to ps4 port, so lacks netplay but it is very fun to play offline with friends!

Team Stories posted for KOF XIV

SNK has updated the official King of Fighters XIV website with a section called Team Stories, detailing a small backstory for each of the 16 teams in the swiftly approaching game. The vignettes provide context and insight to the various character’s motivations on all the teams leading into the overall story of XIV. It also boasts a beautiful header image of Shun’ei seemingly by SNK legend Hiroaki Hashimoto who did the iconic art of 98UM, 2k2UM and loads of other SNK classics.
