i want to use saiki as an anchor and already know his corner hd combo . but what is his mid screen HD combo ? or should i wait to activate hd for when / if i get in the corner.

If you have 2/3 meters then it's worth doing mid-screen HD combos... His mid-screen HD combos can be very short but damaging... You'll Get nearly 700-800 dmg mid-screen for spending 2/3 meters...

Mid-screen 2 meter HD - (j.D, s.D) or (cr.B, cr.B, cr.B), HD, s.D, qcb+D~C, dp+B, DC, qcf+C, Neomax

Mid-screen 3 meter HD - (j.D, s.D) or (cr.B, cr.B, cr.B), HD, s.D, qcb+D~C, dp+B, DC, qcf~qcf+B, DC, Neomax

Whats the best way to consistently cancel dp b into qcf c without super cancelling, and vice verca?

Thanks in advance.

Just slide it... dp+B~C... That's it...
Title: Re: Saiki
Post by: Saitsuofleaves on January 01, 2012, 03:15:51 AM
Not even sliding, just hold C immediately after doing DP+B.  It's a pretty easy one.  Just think of it as another of Saiki's extensions.

Anyway, speaking of Saiki...

[CONSOLE] KOF XIII 'SAIKI' Combos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLC029EysQM#ws)

It makes me wonder...since the FB DM is unscaled, that it might be more optimal for HD combos then the usual deed into Neomax?

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere else so I thought I'd chip in:

Since backdashes put you in an airborne state, you can do command normals from them if you have air command normals.  Saiki has two and they both change his momentum. Extra fun against grapplers trying to grab you.

You can throw out another fireball during his fireball DM. They'll occupy the same space on the screen at about 2/3's the screen away.

Connecting a D version DP works off of qcf+C midscreen if you they get hit deep enough.

TK qcf qcf B or D is a lot of fun.

Uhh... The super flash gives you enough time to react... It's not an instant grab super... And on block you are left wide open... Your friend probably freaked out and didn't block properly...

Found a very easy way to hit confirm into Saiki's HD combos from lows... Link cr.B, cr.B then hold down and act like you are linking a cr.C and press B+C... You then want to do qcb+D right away...

Okay, just tested in both training mode and in a versus match.  You're right. Even though it's a very small amount of time, it is reactable. Phooey.  My friend just freaks out in situations he's not prepared for I guess!

Figure I post this here since I just started to play Saiki anchor...

Saiki last cause this guy is scary as shit with meter... You can't zone this guy and you can't pressure him either... He has every option in the game with meter... If you try to rush him down then he'll either anti-air you with his Kick DM or EX DM you and gain 75 life back in the process... EX DM is also a pressure tool... He has a really good cross-up... He can HD bypass to Grab DM > Neomax... Last but not least, god forbid if I catch you with an HD combo and I have 2-3 meter (if it's in the corner then you are dead from full life)... Saiki is too good...

Saiki can follow up after his Neo Max in the corner with 236236 B/D if he still has meter so to speak.

Yeah, but the opponent has to have been juggled with the NeoMax prior to that, otherwise they won't stay in the air long enough to tag it on.

I was playing offline against my friend's King and i found out that saiki can evade her 236B/D with 2D. I knew that it lowered his hurtbox but i didnt know it can go under projectiles...and it made me think if it can work against all projectiles except ground ones like Kyo or terry's...
Title: Re: Saiki
Post by: Saitsuofleaves on January 17, 2012, 07:01:18 PM
Nah, not all projectiles (not even counting the ground ones).  Depends on the hitbox of said projectile.

J.D, st.C, qcb+D~C, dp+B, DC, qcf+C, air 4B(3x)
(very brief version)
Basically saiki can chain 3 of his air 4D in a row and still continue into either a loop or a qcf+B/D.

I notice very few Saiki players use this type of combo so i thought i should post it and please excuse my lazy combo example.

Saiki combo video by Urasia:

KoF XIII : Saiki's Murder Recipe (Combo Vid) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbGVKPcB3Po#ws)

There's a strange happening @ 3:27, where he does 1000+ damage and there's still life bar left.

EDIT: I know why that happened. It was done in Practice Mode.

So I've recently been playing KoF and I'm very interested in Saiki. I'm most definitely thinking about picking him up. I came here to ask what should be my training regime with him. Most damaging BnB's, etc? These forums need to be a lot more active.

Although the Quick Combo section still needs to be added, there's quite a bit of contributed material on the Saiki wiki if you want to check that out (other than the frames):

Will leave it up to the Saiki players to talk about favored BnB's

What are the advantages of using  ;fd ;dn ;df +  ;b ;d over  ;dn ;df ;fd x2 +  ;b/ ;d?

If the EX dp is followed up, it is basically his ;dn ;df ;fd x2 +  ;b/ ;d DM with one hit less (therefore, doing less damage [I think]).

The only advantage I can think of is that with the EX dp, there are less motions involved, but is that really a big deal to players?
Title: Re: Saiki

If you use it in the corner, it will keep the opponent in the corner, unlike his DM which will always force the opponent out of it.

Title: Re: Saiki

Even with the followup?

If you're close enough in the corner, for some reason, Saiki doesn't side switch, thus keeping the opponent in the corner.

That is strange. I thought that the button you pressed determined Saiki's position for the follow-up attack.

Well there's a short one, just the usual cancel into special into DM into Neomax.

There is a corner carry, but it can be finicky.  Unfortunately I forgot the notation.  But I know it's basically EX Axe Kick (with the right teleport), and then B DP into D Axe Kick (with teleports) until you get into the corner and then you do the corner HD.
Title: Re: Saiki
Post by: bopper on July 13, 2012, 10:57:50 PM
For 3 bars you can do a easy one with HD, cl.C, dp.D, qcb.D, dp.D (hold D) cancel into air super after the sideswich xx neomax. Actually does decent damage for that type of combo. Or you can do the one previously mentioned, IIRC HD, cl.C, qcb.BD, run up dp.B, qcb.D u  (hold C) until you get to the corner  then do whatever.

st.C into EX Axe Kick with C teleport.  Run up into B DP into D Axe Kick into another C teleport.  Repeat that part until in the corner, then do your corner shit.  In notation...

Thanks i'll try it.

EDIT: I tried it and I cant seem to land it; when I do the EX Axe Kick and teleport from different positions, like from the beginning of the screen or midscreen he teleport's to different positions. The main problem is when I cancel the B DP into D Axe Kick it does not connect.
Title: Re: Saiki
Post by: choysauce on July 24, 2012, 06:18:57 PM
i find that Dp+D works better for drive canceling into his axe kick. the Dp+B seems to pop them up too high (unless i'm hitting it too early). and you have to be really up close to them when you hit the DP

the use for this full screen hd is only useful if you are 3/4 or more screen away, but i don't find it worth it unless u know all the positions for it well. since where you start on the screen determines which teleport you have to use.

most situations i find that A teleport works the best. B teleport is if you are super close to the corner (on screen)

but if you are a little less than 1/2 a screen to the corner you should just use the typical D axekick > C teleport > dp+B > qcf+C and continue on in the corner
Title: Re: Saiki

Thanks Choysauce. Thats what I figured at least regarding the EX Axe kick; I dont think that i'll be using it though a simple miss calculation can cost me alot.

has anyone ever found a use for his teleports other than combos from the D donkey kick? does anyone know the properties of it?

it seems to have some invulnerability on the startup, i used the D one time against someone by accident and they whiffed some normals, caught them off guard and got a jump in combo lol...

i feel like there my be some potential in it with cr.C > C teleport? what do you guys think?

*Edit*

yeah, just tried out my theory with cr.C > C teleport. pretty worthless lol.

yeah, just tried out my theory with cr.C > C teleport. pretty worthless lol.

I have a few setups for his corner BnBs.

st.C, qcb+D~D, b+B, dp+B (DC) qcf+C, qcb+D~D, f+B... instead of finishing it the normal way (with b+B, qcf+A, DP DM or whatever) do d,d+D after f+B to teleport directly ontop of their model.  If they ukemi you can attempt the air stomp DM, fall straight down into the command grab DM (level 2!), or whatever mixup you want.  They can obviously roll forward or poke before he lands, so it's not risk free, but it's a good way to reset the damage scaling if you think you can pull it off.

You can do it off lows in the corner with cr.Bx3, qcb+B (DC) qcf+C, qcf+A, st.D.  If you st.D early enough you should be able to d,d+D teleport ontop of their model before they land.  This one doesn't rely on them ukemi'ing because it's a reset.

You can also run up and d,d+D after hard knockdowns midscreen.  Many people instinctively st/cr.C or DP in that situation and the air stomp DM will usually beat them out.  Sometimes you can crossup D when falling straight down if the opponent whiffs an action that moves them forward.

Hey guys, looking for good frametraps with Saiki.  I have these so far:

cr.B/A, cl.C
cr.A, cb.B x2
cr.B, cr.A, st.C

Might be able to throw some st.Ds in there somewhere.  His cr.A is +3 on block so it's actually quite nice at making people fear his options afterward.  Anyone know some other traps?

Saiki is kinda rare but I would advice looking at some Japanese matches that are uploaded to niconico to find some random players. Also in 2012 Romance used to play with Saiki quite a bit especially during Final Round
