We're back after a short break. UFGT was a success, but EVO still looms. There are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go expose them!

The Tournaments: Seven (that's right, seven!) will be held, in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, King of Fighters XIII, Street Fighter x Tekken, Skullgirls, and, of course, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. More tournaments may be added for other games (Soul Calibur V, HD Remix, Guilty Gear XXAC, Blazblue, etc.) if there is enough interest. Just tell me what you want to hold a tournament for and I'll add it to this post. But be warned, tournaments will be dropped if not enough people sign-up, and that goes for the originally planned tournaments too.

The Setups: PLEASE BRING EQUIPMENT! If you have a system, game disc, or cables and you can bring them to the event, please do. We want to make sure we have enough set-ups for both the tournament matches as well as casuals. Be sure to bring your own stick or pad as well.

The Systems: All Capcom games will be held on Xbox 360. All non-Capcom games will be held on PS3.

The Price: All tournaments are $10 to enter. There is also a venue fee of $2, which is paid upon entering Nickel City.

The Payout: The top 25% of people who enter will be paid. Here's how the payout scale works, along with pot bonuses:

8-12 entrants - 1st place: 55% of pot, 2nd place: 27.5%, 3rd place: 17.5%
13-16 entrants - 1st: 50% of remaining pot*, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 20%, 4th: Entry fee - $20 pot bonus
17-24 entrants - 1st: 50% of remaining pot*, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 20%, 4th: Entry fee + $5, 5th/6th: Entry fee - $40 pot bonus
25-32 entrants - 1st: 50% of remaining pot*, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 20%, 4th: Entry fee + $10, 5th/6th: Entry fee + $5, 7th/8th: Entry fee - $70 pot bonus
33-48 entrants - 1st: 50% of remaining pot*, 2nd: 30%, 3rd: 20%, 4th: Entry fee + $15, 5th/6th: Entry fee + $10, 7th/8th: Entry fee + $5, 9th-12th: Entry fee - $130 pot bonus

And so on.

* "Remaining pot" means the pot after all places 4th and lower have been paid out.
** If a tournament has fewer than 8 entrants, then it may still be held if everyone involved is still interested. In these cases, 2nd place will receive their entry fee back, and 1st place will be paid all of the remaining pot. If the event cannot be held, either due to lack of entrants or lack of interest in participating in the smaller tournament, money will be refunded.

The Schedule (Subject to Change):
6:00 pm - Venue available
6:45 pm - Sign-up starts for all tournaments
7:20 pm - Sign-up ends for SSF4: AE12 and Skullgirls
7:30 pm - SSF4: AE12 and Skullgirls tournaments begin

10:00 pm - SFxT, MK9, and VF5:FS tournaments begin

Early Sign-up: If you do not think that you will be able to make it to the venue on time or you would just prefer to have your name entered early, please notify the tournament organizer ahead of time (see below) so you will be entered into the bracket.

The Volunteers: We will need volunteers to help out with the duty of running brackets. Please contact the tournament organizer (see below) if you are willing to volunteer. Take note that if you are entered into a tournament, you will not be permitted to run the bracket for that tournament unless there is another volunteer--possibly also entered into the same tournament--available to assist you.

MAJOR UPDATES REGARDING THIS TOURNAMENT

Due to an expected high turnout for UMvC3 and an expected non-existant turnout for SFxT, I have amended the schedule.

The Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament will now start at 8:45 pm, with sign-ups ending 15 minutes prior (8:30 pm)

Meanwhile, Street Fighter x Tekken, if enough people sign-up, will now start at 10 pm with sign-ups ending at 9:45.

Please be aware of this! I'd hate for somebody to miss the tournament because they didn't check this post. So tell everybody you know that plans to come.

Also, regarding infinites, they're in for now. But anybody who tries for an infinite and drops it will have to put on a funny hat.
