Hey guys now that we have an "idea" of when the game is going to be released, I think is a good time to start a thread like this.
I will personally get the game for both systems, what about you?

Ps3, but if the netcode is really good and there are good players to practice against, I would honestly pick up a 360 to practice. I, along with many other people, want to get really good at this game.

Yeah but if online sucks then there isn't much point since I will be stuck playing 1p, which gets old fast. Zero competition is why I have barely put any time into XI.

understood, but if the acade version isnt emulated and a free 360 isnt possible cause you dont have any system then you wont even be able to play this game 1p or at all generally.
also, when this game gets released and theres a clan feature ima be looking for some true EU koffers. its been 10 years since ive actually played competetivelly, but i addapt damn fast and will put time into this game. been playing kof at the highest level since 94, even after 10 years ill probably get into this like i never stopped playing. shits like riding a bike, especially now that 13 is atually like a real kof (im best in 97 & 98, these games are pretty much alike with 13 cept for some sublt differences like ex's and shit).
edit: the best s/sf4 player in the netherlands is a turk. funny thing about it, during the sf4 tournament here in the dutch i asked him if he played other fighters, which he did but right now its pretty much sf4 series. so i ask the dude if he plays kof, hes like im damn op in kof. 98 is his shit, which is the same for me. ive seen his sf skills, if hes that op with 98 hell be worth watching out for. a shame i never knew him back then or got to 98 with him back when both of us where actually really into. too bad dude has a 360, if he had a ps3 we could have been doing some good practice.

Lets just hope that the net code is good. I think that will pretty much make or break the success of KOF XIII.

if its better than sf4's netcode, well actually be able to play people from as far as 2000 miles away or something. that would be sweet. but for that it has to be at least as good as sf4's netcode, simply because kof is faster and lag would make it even harder than in sf. from the netherlands, i should be able to play people from north africa, eastcoast us, middle east & west russia/asia and everything in in the north since thats pretty close anyway (scandinavia, uk etc).
if it doesnt deliver in the netcode department, youll be stuck to your region (which wouldnt be a whole lot of people probably) and even then you might have trouble online cause of lag. would be such a huge waste, but i doubt it would happen. snkp knows this is pretty much make or break, i think they will deliver this time around. only other thing im personally worried about is that there probably will be no balancing. which isnt that bad, but k, raiden, lizzy & kula could use a touch here and there.

Getting it on PS3. The PS3 version is far more open when it comes to control devices. Got a Happ on my PS3, a sega saturn pad, some pc pads and all of them are working on it.

Indeed, we're all hoping the same. Word has the NGBC release had good netcode so let's hope they fixed the problems. Welcome to DC btw!

I'm super rusty, truth is I'm real reluctant to ever play older KOFs coz it messes with my game for the current one (hence I've dropped 98UM, 2K2UM, and XII and don't really go back to it). Like I explained on the PM, I'll see if I have some time a little later to dig up my joystick (since I moved).

You're one of those people? The one that drops older games once the newer ones come out because of new timings or styles? That's only legit if you use Kensou as he changes EVERY game. Probably Robert I guess since they like to rotate him a lot too.

Nah man, it totally messes me up. When I started XIII I kept doing j.D, s.C, CD with everyone and messed me up hard. It took me forever to adapt to XIII lol (I'm old man, hehe, I can't adapt as fast as I could when I was 14 when '94 first came out--do the math).
Getting real OT but Gunsmith and I were talking about how much slower we are lol, he was complaining his thumbs don't move as fast too. Ash said the same thing too.

HIEN SHINPAKKU! Is one of my favorite moves. It's always a free hit for Daimon. Ground Pound LOL.
Mature also has some nice normals jumping b counters most jump attacks thanks to its angle.

I have a ps3 myself, and I'm planning on getting a 360 soon because PSN is trash compared to XBL. Just because something is free doesnt make it better.

No it isn't. I have a PS3, and play a lot on the 360 and the service barring a few things is essentially the same. Actually the online is smoother on PS3 most of the time due to dedicated servers for most games. That and I don't have ten year olds yelling crap in my ear.

True. It's just that ten times more idiots get the 360. The PS3 at least had a price barrier like the Neo geo in its earlier days so it kept it away from the hand of screaming kids. I remember a time when the patrons of the PS3 were in their mid to late 20s. Good times....

I'll be getting it on PS3 even if the netcode turns out poorly so I can practice execution at least. If the netcode turns out bad I can only hope UFO keeps its cab.

xbx for starting since the live service is way tooooooo much better than ps3 but readin this thread i think would be great to play with all of u and find new challenges on both systems
i just hope the online game ll be good or u ll have to rent me a room in usa to come play with u :)

with some games live is better, but in a lot of cases theres no difference between live and psn. its soo minimal that it doesnt justify the pay for live imo.

You're wrong. SF4 is shitty on BOTH systems. The netplay fucking sucks on both consoles. It's just that there's enough people so you get enough on a local enough area for a decent play.

I can get a solid playable connection in SFIV on PSN. My worst connections were against a guy in Cali. I'm in Florida. Problem is obvious. And everyone knows the SFIV netcode is great in Japan ONLY.

I must say about the guys saying they are old. I'm also coming back after 9 years myself and can't tell if its goin slow because of age or time away from the games.
Can't wait for this game to get released....got the PS3 for SSF4 cus of the hype (i was big into 3s back in the day), and I just think think that game is trash. Coming back, I've gone full steam back into KOF (with some SamSho and Garou mixed in).

I had a better experience playing tekken 6 on live than ssf 4, when someone had a bad connection the match would end and you would return to the main menu
