A version starts up quicker and deals way less damage, recovery is virtually the same. It's like -10f vs -12f on block. It's a powerful combo starter but only use it against characters without extremely fast punishers. For example I can use it all day against my friend's Mai or Billy, but if I did it against Mr. Karate I would be asking to eat his EXDM.

Is  ;db ;fd ;a punishable? Supers are fast enough to punish? I've never been punished for it but no one I've played has tried with a DM.

Is his CD really invuln to lows? I thought I tested it and found it not to be. It seems like his footsies would be way too good if this was true. Can someone double check if so? The move is dirty as hell as it is. I stand just outside sweep range all the time and it fucks people's days up. Now I hear you can combo off it too? If this is all true then this character is crazy good in this build I think.

Thanks, this has been working out great, using the EX throw for extra damage is really satisfying =D 

Just so you know, the EX version of the throw nets you a whole 5 extra damage. The only reason I think you should do it is cuz it allows for follow up combos in the corner. I haven't played too much and I'm just picking Daimon up but 5 extra damage is simply not worth the bar. What may be is maybe it gives some invuln frames? idk.

Here's 1 thing which I haven't seen mentioned on here (NVM sorry didn't read carefully) but you may already know, his  ;df ;c when used as an anti-air can be cancelled into HCF A anywhere on screen making your anti-air hit do over 200 damage (I think) and can be super cancelled. Pretty effective I think since that move is such a good anti-air.

Hey guys, just picked the game up yesterday and Takuma was the character I was most interested since... as long as I've been watching XIII. I've noticed that  ;c  ;fd ;b ;db ;fd ;d has really tough timing but is easily his most effective hit confirm. Obviously anyone who wants to play him has to get this down but I was hoping for some tips on buffering the charge from the  ;fd ;b Any advice?

Edit: haha nvm, getting it relatively consistently now. Man this game has such satisfying combos to perform.

Yeah I definitely noticed that, where other forums everyone is eager to not listen to anyone else and just talk trash this one is actually a helpful community. I was telling some friends I'm trying to get into KoF about it.

Yes, max mode cancelling. All I need to know is what buttons to press. Rest I can figure out as it tells you which moves can be Max Cancelled.

In videos I thought I saw something similar to Xiii's HD cancel. I mean like cancelling super moves to continue a combo. Basically 2002's FADC? Unless I'm wrong and there's nothing of the sort.

TY BTW! This is such a kick ass composition. I've grown to love game sound tracks because they really have no standard set so half the time you just get awesome catchy instrumentals such as this one. It's so clean my god I could listen to it all day.

Yes I under stand your point and TBH I'm starting to kinda Hate street fighter and there BS damage system. I'm more scared for  the fact that those long combos will scare away people form kof thats all. I still love kof and if you want to play  2k2 when i comes out let me know.

Lets start a "bitch about SFIV here!" thread. I'd be a large contributor. I'm so ready for anything not SFIV on 360.

When I played with my friend and there was no lag I was still having a lot of trouble with timing on pretty much...anything. I understand older games aren't as fluid as SFIV and some may say that's a good thing but I'll admit I'm a 4th generation SF player. I wasn't really into fighters until I played SFIV and now I'm a fanatic. Well I guess you can just help me out when we play.

For the ratio system, are the max amoun of points 6 or 5?

That's rule specific so there isn't one set.

The amount at the arcade that Rex was talking about though was 5, which is actually really reasonable and discourages K'/Raiden use greatly.
