Hey guys!!

I'm looking to do some beginner tutorials for some of the older SNK games. I have the resources to edit but as far as footage I'd rather someone who has an intimate understanding of the game give good examples.  I'd especially like to see some things for Samurai Showdown and Last Blade.  I also would like some character introductory stuff as well not just combo vids some real helpful informative stuff.

I'm looking for the more oldies that are getting played a lot more even though I'd love to see certain games in particular get done I'm willing to do whats available for the sake of peoples schedules. I'll be getting some free time at the beginning of April so if your interested please PM me. I will make sure that you get all the credits for your contributions.

General Discussion / Using Alternate DNS to get a better connection
« on: December 11, 2011, 06:04:31 PM »
While were waiting for improvements for the netcode for KOFXIII, I figured I'd continue trying to improve my own connections to the best of my ability.

Not to long ago, I learned about using OpenDns to help improve my internet loading times. While I was screwing around with  my Xbox trying to figure out how to make things better, I gave the address from OpenDns a try but no luck.

Later on, I found out that OpenDns is not the only alternative out there and I did search and happened upon a forum that suggested using another code that could improve or make worse your xblive connections.

Adding an alternate DNS(At least on Xbox360) is as simple as changing your DNS server from Automatic to Manual and inputting a primary and an alternate DNS.

I was told to put in the address 4.2.2.1 for the primary and for the alternate address was told to put in 4.2.2.2

I tested it out with a pretty local player(distance 100-120 miles)  previously I only managed a 2 bar(only 2 bars in general for that matter) connection with this individual but that day I got three and we seemed to have a better overall experience it still felt like we had some input lag.

I figured I'd post my findings and find out from other members if they do this also and what their experiences have been with going this route. It may help for those of us who are having bad connection issues.

I do have to add this was probably the first time I got to test it without any outside interference like my family members streaming video so that could have also been the culprit. I'll try it under these conditions again and see what comes of it. They'll be plenty time to test this out over my break.

Go here for more info http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1723.0. I'm guessing that if enough people show up more constantly than we can get a pretty good scene going for KOF so if your in the area please come out and play.

Online Matchmaking / Anyone up to try PCSX2 netplay?!!
« on: November 05, 2011, 03:14:58 AM »
I just found out about this today but it looks like we might be able to get some KOF IX online play as well as other SNK titles that are on ps2?! If anyone would like to try out KOF IX at least I'd be glad to oblige. Sadly I don't have the best connection 6 Mbit DSL  :(  I'm in Atlanta. I've heard that people get pretty good connection through another program called Hamachi. I'll be trying to get everything set up tonight I probably won't be able to really try anything until sunday. So if your interested let me know.

« on: October 12, 2011, 06:48:33 PM »
Just letting people know that its out on Xbox Live for 800 points!!! If you've never played this game before I recommend it especially for those who like classics. Its a beat'em up that has fighting game mechanics like command supers, juggles, and a lot more. It also has a battle arena mode which I'm told will have up 12 players at a time. I'm downloading it as we speak so I'll give you guys an update on what they've done with the multiplayer.

Pro-Gear / Is it cheaper to make my own joystick?
« on: August 06, 2011, 09:15:07 PM »
I'm interested in getting a joystick before the end of this year and I was wondering is it cheaper to make my own joystick or just buy one. Right now, my only thought is to purchase the Quanba Q4 that works with multi game systems. I wondered if I were to create my own joystick how much would I be saving. I would be more interested in just maybe having one that I could build with all the available parts buttons, box, joystick etc. I really don't want to do any soldiering as my first experience with it was terrible and I would also have to buy an iron so that just tacks on to the price.  I have an xbox 360 and I'll hopefully be getting my Ps3 up and running in the near future. Whats my best bet please give me your advice.

Archives / KOF XIII Evo Discussion
« on: August 02, 2011, 08:05:32 PM »
I can agree with that if he felt something was wrong he should have done so before the match was over. It definitely going to be exciting to see what happens after the console version. I'm hoping that KOF does make it to EVO next year. I definitely want to see it at Final Round here in GA.

Training Room / Hit Boxes
« on: June 24, 2011, 05:22:44 AM »
I'm familiar with the term but I still don't quite grasp how it works. What do the green and red hitboxes mean. Also is there a good youtube tutorial that explains this.

Training Room / Buffering with KYO in 2002 UM
« on: May 26, 2011, 07:01:37 AM »
I was playing around with Kyo in practice and caught the ah ha moment with buffering his supers. I was just wondering if anyone had any extra buffers they'd advise me to learn.  So far I've found the  ;dn ;db ;bk buffer SP into  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd+P , the dp+p into  ;dn ;df ;fd,+p and the  ;fd ;df ;dn ;db ;bk+SK into  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd+P.

I did try his(don't know the names sorry)  ;fd ;df ;dn ;db ;bk+LK into  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd+p but that whiffed..at least until I did his SDM that one linked.

btw Is this just with the UM tougeki version or does this stuff work with KOF 2002 also.
