Offline Matchmaking / Re: Minnesota KOF Thread
« on: May 29, 2013, 09:18:42 PM »
Hey guys, I was in the dreamcancel chat the other day and someone said the biggest tourney in Minnesota is coming up in like 2 weeks.  What are the official details of this (time, date, place, etc)?  I'm trying to go and get some Chicago peeps to come with me so any info would be swell.

Ryan Heart is a good player, not sure if he takes this game seriously though.

Sup guysh! Sounds like everyone and the scene are doing great, and you guys got a couple new player to? Cool. I can't wait until my two vacation weeks near ufgt time so I can come out more. I actually practiced a little yesterday and had a crack session with solechris he invited me to a chat and we were talking, playing and having a good time, it felt good playing again. I also just picked up a new character I'm gonna main him for sure. And Mr. James jr. I told solechris to add you yesterday so you might receive a random friend request. I do get two sick days with pay, I should use another one on a Monday  ;)
Glad to see you're alive.  What days do you have off?  Maybe we could just meet up to play somewhere

Played pretty terribly in the tournament, I should stop trying to pretend like I can use Iori until I can actually use him.  Gotta grind harder.  GGs to everyone I battled, thanks to James for some good advice.

Also I am loving the influx of new players.  Playing against new styles and characters is great.  Also I think I had a match against GLB yesterday where 100% of my damage came from venom strikes in the first round.  Dat plasma

GGs to all the ignite KOF crew.  Shoutouts to Efo for dodging that FT10 like a champ.

IMO EX Kyo is all about bullying your opponent and controlling space.  He has a ton of safe jump setups because a lot of his bnbs and combos end in hard knockdown.  You can watch that safe jump setup video to get a good idea, but basically anytime you end in run grab or in the corner the light rekka chain, you get a free safe jump against pretty much the entire cast.  He builds a ton of meter, so I think he's best on point, but you can probably put him anywhere.

Have to try regardless... Maybe I am doing it too fast but I am suppose to enter the DM motion before the second rekka or during the second rekka?
you can do it either way, I find it's a bit easier to do it after the 2nd one, but I've seen it done both ways.

Rekka cancels are just really hard man, even Mario says so.  Basically unless you are godlike, you should probably only be trying to rekka empty cancel when you don't have a drive stock, otherwise like you've already seen, your super will come out.

Yeah, sounds good.  If you do it on Thursdays I could make it every once in a while, but probably not too often.  It's not all about me though, so do whatever's good for everyone.  Everyone level up, UFGT is around the corner and there's a lot of strong players coming.
