I'm originally from Melbourne. Staying in Coffs Harbour right now but looking at jobs down south again (in IT). So might be moving soon (hopefully!). The beaches here are awesome though.

Hi all,

I've followed the FGC for awhile, and have played FG's casually since Super Turbo (Shoto flowchart), but only trying to get into actually playing a bit better now.

I really love the style of KOFXIII (reminds me of CvS2 a little) so yeah just looking for peeps to play against. Don't flame me I'm a beginner :D

Hey guys wasn't sure where to ask this, so here goes:

I'm currently building my first ever KOF team. Currently the characters I feel most comfortable with are King, Ryo & Andy. Two questions:

1) Of these 3 chars, who has the easiest possible HD combo? I'm still working on my execution but would appreciate a heads up in the right direction.
2) Given answer to #1, what team order should I use? Currently I'm thinking King, Ryo, Andy, just because Andy has a sweet NeoMax. However I've had some small success in getting a HD combo going with King. Everyone just says how good a point character she is though so I kept her there.

Any input appreciated! :D

Hi guys,

Is there a way shortcut to HDC a DP into a HCB? I am trying to HD cancel Ryo's DP+A into HCB+D and finding it pretty difficult.

The hcb+B, hcb+D is a link, but it only works when you're canceling into hcb+B from trap shot (dp+kick). Do the motion early and when you press the button, hold it down. When you hold the button down on special move links, it repeats the inputs for you and you don't have to time it.

Just go practice dp+K (or EX) into hcb+B, hcb+D, qcf qcf+AC in the corner. Do the motion early and hold the button down.

Hi all,

I'm a KOF newbie and recently picked up King (to replace Athena).

Anyways a quick execution question regarding her HD combos. The following example is from the wiki:
j.C, cl.D, df+D [HD] cl.D, [dp+K, [HDC] hcb+B]×4, hcb+D, qcfx2+AC = 689 dmg

I can get this combo up until the HCB+D; I can't see to land it after a HCB+B. Any tips here? Is it any type of cancel, or just a normal corner juggle? It either doesn't seem to come out at all, or comes out too late and whiffs. I'm also struggling at just landing a naked (HD mode) HCB+D, Ex Surprise Rose. Can I buffer the QCF while she's in the air, or it all has to be done once her feet land?

Any help appreciated here guys. I was pretty pumped when I reached my first milestone (landing 4 HDC in a row). So I'm keen to get the rest of it down so I actually have a HD-capable character

Hi all,

I'm completely new to the KOF series and want to main Takuma. That is if I can ever get the cl.C, f+B xx db,f+D combo every time >.<

Anyways my question surrounds execution of something most probably find easier:
cl.C, f+B xx Haohshikouken (F, HCF+C)

My question is after f+B, can I just hold forward 'longer' and that will count as my 'F' for the DM? Meaning after f+D I can basically hold F, then HCF+C? I know you could reply 'just hit the lab' and I have. But since my timing of the cancel is still being worked on, I haven't figured out if you can do it but need the timing right, or the times I've done it I actually somehow went back to neutral and back to Forward again.

Sorry if the question is noob. Just trying to find good times to land my DM's instead of using them in true desperation Also coming from SF I find KOF to be very unforgiving in terms of execution. Am really enjoying the game though.
