Both the original arcade version and the console version have been patched.

The first version got up to v1.03. Its most significant balance change was removing Mature's infinite.

The console version was patched following the release of EX Kyo and Iori. EX Iori vs Benimaru had some character freezing glitch under very specific circumstances. EX Kyo's EX R.E.D. Kick would freeze opponents if they tried to command grab him at just the right moment. Never tested how easy this was to pull off.

As far as I know, Climax removed Billy's invincibility on HD activation mid-combo.

In summary, all the game-breaking stuff has been fixed (as far as I know), and Climax doesn't have any significant changes (again, as far as I know).

I hate to be so gloomy about these glimmers of news, but I'm very much reminded of

Samurai Shodown 2 -> 3
and
Fatal Fury Special -> 3

In both cases, SNK had a hit on their hands. A fighting game that was far and away more successful than any other game were producing at the time. But instead of playing it safe and giving people more of what they wanted, they went back to the drawing board and completely remade the graphics and reworked the fighting engines.

It didn't work. People stuck with the game they preferred, and the player base was fractured.

KOF XIII has been their biggest fighter in twenty years. This is NOT the time to do something different. Make a few new characters, new stages, give existing characters new moves, and release it as KOF XIV.

Some people call this "milking" the franchise, but it's actually supporting the scene.

Congratulations to Reynald! Pretty sad to see Woo take second place after doing so well up until Grand Finals. Woo had a really cool playstyle that I love to watch. I hope he's back next year!

My favorites were the Haregoro match in pools (can't remember who he was playing against) and Mr. KOF vs. Pao Yen Ren in both winners and losers brackets.

There were lots of other excellent matches, but those three are the ones that stand out in my mind.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping KOF could at least beat SFxT. I remember there was some doubt as to whether or not SFxT would even make into this year's Evo.

Ogosho, Koukou, Kaoru, Wuu, Tokido, Mago, Picnic, Kantoku, Sange and Haregoro are officially coming to the EVO this year.

With this the Evo will really be a KOF 13 World Championship.

Fucking.

I think it's the alias of the man doing the combo on the video ??

The player's alias is Hagi.

And "bug step" is a typo. It's supposed to be "back step."  ;) He's referring to doing (air)dp+B from the back dash.

I really dont understand how Im supposed to be able to do all that while maintaining a charge.
There are lots of ways to buffer your charge time. Here are a few of the easier ways:

- whiff canceling her CD.
- close D gives you just enough time to charge b~f+B.
- in the corner, landing (air)qcb+C gives you time to charge her d~u+P.

In general, I would say that using her charge moves isn't as important to her pressure game as her normal moves are. Her charge moves are more important in combos when you actually land something. The one exception would be b~f+D, which leaves you at an advantage on block.

Highly doubt it. I don't think they're gonna get to it anytime soon.

It wouldn't make sense for SNK to pay their developers to do nothing. Either they've shut down their gaming division, or they're paying them to do something.

We haven't heard anything about their gaming division closing, so the logical conclusion is that they're working on something.

KOF XIII was a success for SNKP. Now, there are several ways to build off a successful game. They could use the experience and talent to bring back another (less popular) IP, like Fatal Fury, Metal Slug or Samurai Shodown. This is somewhat risky. They could use the experience and talent to create a NEW IP. This is even riskier. Or, they could simply make a sequel to their successful game. This is the safest option.

Given SNKP's history, I'm guessing (just a hunch) that they're going with the safest option.

All in all, I'm pretty confident XIV is already in the works. But it may be a while before we hear about it.
