Official Announcements & Information / Wibiya Toolbar Chat Room
« on: November 17, 2011, 09:43:34 PM »
* On the bottom of your browser (if you don't see it, maybe its adblocked), you will see a dark grey toolbar.

* On the far left you will see "Join Chat". When you click it, you will see the chat box open up that says "To start chatting please connect through one of the networks below". It will give you the options to log in to myspace, facebook, twitter or yahoo. If you use any of those networks, you can join the room. (For me personally, I made a brand new twitter account specifically for the chat room. You can sign up here: https://twitter.com/). If you sign into any of your networks before visiting dreamcancel, you may be auto-logged into the chat, if not prompted to.

* Clicking the green speaker button above the message field disables the message notification sound. On the right screen that shows the list, you can set yourself as busy or away. If you minimize the chat window (while you're browsing the site and forums it will show you as available with a orange sphere next your name that is currently active.

* Clicking a users name will ask to invite them to private chat or public chat (if they aren't active).

* Opening two browsers or tabs while you are logged in of the dreamcancel homepage and forums (like for example, reading your pm's, and reading a thread) will make your activity jump from active to available, so make sure to keep only one browser (or tab) with the site open while chatting.

* If you are chatting and you don't see your message pop up, and/or you see a popup that says "connection timed out", check your internet connection and/or just refresh the page and re-join the chat.

* There are moderators (like yours truly) that can delete your message and ban you. So be good. Follow the forum rules (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=3.msg3#msg3) and have fun.  ;)

Desperation Move:
Ultimate Ecstasy Crunch:  ;dn ;df ;fd, ;dn ;df ;fd + ;a/ ;c (also possible in the air, can be held down, only on the ground)

Any thoughts on her besides that she's kinda...you know...bad? Alot of her moves have horrible startup, and long recovery on block and on hit, (especially her hcb + A/C, but dp + B/D is okay). Her qcf + A is good on block, but her dp + A/C are not at all. Her air qcf +A/C has shitty recovery on block, and her air super is just...bad. :(

King of Fighters 98/UM/FE / The 98UM Dream Cancel Wiki Project
« on: August 13, 2011, 04:43:57 AM »
http://dreamcancel.com/wiki/index.php?title=King_of_Fighters_98UM

This wiki needs your help! A lot of the character threads are just templates and are lacking in combos, strategy, and in-depth information on many, many things. If you would like to help with the wiki, express interest here, and I will inform nilcam to grand you access to it (if you are worthy of course, hehehe).

202

Leading up to the release of KOFXIII, there will be monthly weekend long GGPO sessions continuing the FT10 sessions in KOF98 and KOF02.

WHAT: KOF98 and 2002, First to 10 games series weekend
WHEN: KOF98 Session 3 Saturday, August, 13th 2011 @ 4pm PST/6pm CST/7pm EST.
          KOF02 Session 6 Sunday, August, 14th 2011 @ 4pm PST/6pm CST/7pm EST.
WHERE: On GGPO (KOF98 will be held in room 3), @ chat room #SNKPlaymore on EFnet
WHO: Any GGPO players within North America or Europe are welcomed
HOW: All players signed up will play each other first to either 5, 7 or 10 games, matches will be recorded and and scores will be taken

1.) Post to sign up, add your GGPO handle, your list of characters you use, and your area. It will be added in this post. Also post up which game you will be entering either KOF98, KOF02 or both. Before the session date, check to make sure your GGPO works with most players both within the USA and other countries. Make sure your ports are correctly forwarded to the private IP you are using GGPO on.

Test your ping and connection here: http://www.speedtest.net/

2.) On the day of the session, please sign in into #SNKPlaymore chat through mibbit (or any irc client you use): http://04.chat.mibbit.com/ (IRC network EFnet) a half hour before the session starts. If you aren't a dreamcancel member or didn't sign up, please say when you arrive in the room "I'd like to join FT10" .

3.) All players in attendance will play each other in a first to 10 wins set. Everyone will play at the same time. After you finished playing with one person, move on to the next available player and so on. When you are playing, please try to keep track of your score either through chat reminders or tally marks on pen and paper. Report your final score in the #SNKPlaymore chat room.

First to 10 games is optional, you can choose to play first to 5 games, 7 or 10. The two players must agree on how many games, and if there isn't an agreement, you can meet down the middle by playing first to 7.

While you are playing in the session make sure your connection is free and isn't being used to stream video or upload or download files. Also make sure that your connection isn't being used or shared by anyone else on your network. If any event that GGPO crashes, stay in the chat room, and try to reboot GGPO in a few minutes.

4.) After the session, this thread will be deleted and a new thread for the next upcoming session. There is a session results thread which features scores, and uploaded matches. If you do not want your matches recorded, please mention that in your sign up post or in the chat room.

Any questions or comments, please feel free to ask!

King of Fighters XI / Cheap ass AI/CPU
« on: May 12, 2011, 04:08:05 PM »
On maximum difficulty the AI for this game is so freaking cheap. They anti-air you almost 70 percent of the time if you are in the air, they can punish really well, and they can even block well almost 60 percent of the time. The cheapest AI's IMO are maybe Ryo, Clark, Gai, Sliver and Jazu. Anyone else use the AI for training?
