SNK Games / Re: Anyone try out any NeoGeo Station games?
« on: December 22, 2010, 06:41:20 PM »
The emulation is great. There are tons of options - adding scanlines, smoothing, turning the original bugs on/off, etc. I played SamSho a lot last night and it is great, online and offline. I played 10 online matches and it felt like playing offline. I'm very happy with that. I downloaded KoF 94 this morning and I'll be testing that out over the course of the day. I'll have some impressions up on the homepage later tonight.

These are great news. I will try KOF94 and SS when I arrive at home in a few hours. Tomorrow morning I will give you my impressions.

I'm sure we all will start to seee info about KOFXIII's console version in next year.

About that idea of record a Tech Ref. for each character with all his/her stuff such as combos, etc. i totally support it. I would loved to see this for Mai, but never happened. Even snk HK released combo movies for all characters except for Women Team and Psico Soldiers Team. sad...

i would love mary in KOFXIII as DLC, but probably she will be more completed than Mai or King and that's gonna make me get anger... They should work more in some current characters of the game before add new ones as DLC.

Yes, you are totally right. I should posted this on there. My apologies. But don't worry, I'm sure moderators will do their job to keep the thread clean.

:D

This NeoGeo Station is a great new for PS3 users who like SNK games. Not because of these old titles they are going to release at the beginning, but because for 1st time, PS3 users have finally the chance to play KOFs, FFs, AoFs online (like xbox users with XBLA). I'm sure more titles will come.
Anyway, I agree with Rex about prices. they are crazy and I think they should sell all these titles in one or two packs.

this fucking sucks. all these games are utter crap. lets hope they at least release the good collections, like ff and rb, ss, kof o, kof n & the ms collections. thats whats up, not this bs.

It's a starter point. If they are going to sell all SNK classics, they have to start from the beginning I guess. I'm sure they are planning release all titles of FF, aoF, SS and KOF.

In terms of fighting games, I'm playing right now SSFIV. I enjoyed the game because I really tried to become good with it, but honestly I don't like the game. I never liked SF franchise before and I don't feel the game. Tired of SF and still waiting KOFXIII for consoles which doesn't have even a release date... I decided give a chance to BlazBlue. I know it's not my kind of game, I don't like so much this kind of "gothic-phantasy-manga" style and the gameplay looks too much stressing (a lot of voices, noises, flashes, screen sometimes does really hurt your eyes..) but while I'm waiting KOF it could be an entertaining alternative to SSFIV... But what I really would like is, besides KOFXIII, a new Soul Calibur and a new Dead or Alive. I'm not interested at all in MvC3, MK9 or SFxT...

Another kind of games I'm playing are God of War 3, which I don't like, and waiting for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. I tried its demo and I loved it, even the graphics aren't the best I seen, characters and gameplay catched me.

(Is it weird I really like the way Mai's new VA says "Kachousen!" in this game?)

That's no weird at all. That new voice is one of the bests things of this new Mai. Sounds more FF than KOF. I totally love it, not only her Kachosen, her NippoIchi and Hisatsu and Musasabi too.

I'm loving these vids, really enjoying them!

It's curious to see Mai's hcf+K and air qcb+P are not used at all. Only RyuEnbus and Kachousens (excpet for one EX hcf+K against Duo). I know, they are unsafe... but aren't they enough fast to tricky in some way? I think Musasabi while you escaping jumping back if you are been pursued could be effective (I always used Musasabi in this way). If they can not block on air, it should work in many cases.

You mean lighter than expected?  Most people mod it to be heavier.
No, no. I mean heavier. Because I read the comlpaints, and I was expecting a very light stick but I found it heavier than what I expected. for me doesn't need any mod. But maybe you will prefer it heavier. It's realtive I guess to personal choice

It can't be ambiguous because it's a corner, there's only one input to make it a diagonal.  In contrast, the back, forward, down, and up directions are on the "sides" of the square so one may be confused about the input.
Your argument is totaly logic, but I don't know why I don't find 4 gate comfortable. What I like from octogonal gates is "sense" every diagonal with the "click" sound and some moves like hcfx2, p.e, are easy for me with an octogonal. and the same for  ;bk ;dn ;db moves

How long it took you guys to get used to the Fightstick transition? Im left-handed so it took me about one month to get use to it. But if your right-handed i heard it will take alot of time since people rarely use their left.

¿Fightstick transition?

Do you mean from cross pad to fighting stick? Well I always played with stick when I played NeoGeo and arcades (when I was young...). but when neogeo disappear and arcades too, I stop to play fighting games. then i only played some PS2 KOF (with cross pad), but not in a competitive way. I start to play fighting games more seriously again, after 15 years without playing it, thanks to PS3 and its online. And I get a stick again. How long it took to me get used to fighting stick? A LOT (this means some months, 2 or 3) And when I get used to my Hori 3, now I get a RAPv3 and I have to get use again. lol
