Im having a very hard time getting his s.D to come from his c.B max mode combo. the s.D to command grab (EX?) window is extremely quick. Anyone have any pointers or shortcuts?

Kensous d.B and d.D are amazing in 13 and s.B is good because of his target combo and s.D has great active frames wich allow for him hitconfirming stuff off of it. Not to say you're wrong, because i haven't tried 98 Kensou since i was a kid, but you're complaining about the stuff that actually is good with him in 13.

And yeah, Kensou may take some getting used to in 13, but he is good.

Then how can you compare them if youve never played them? They dont even play the same. Im not talking about XIII im talking about XIV.  I didnt even mention s.B.and d.D is better in 98 especially if you canceled it to a better fireball and had more range. This is also with 98 s. C+D. No objections to XIII Kensou (given other versions have been better). However, making him more 98 with sub par normals in XIV, makes him incomplete (the basis of my initial post). Giving him janky normals but removing his rekka game, flip and sB ,C  makes him incomplete. Its obvious he got the raw deal when compared to Athena and Chin. Athena is superior in every aspect compared to him in XIV.

I'm on the fence with Kensou. The XIII style takes a long time to get used to, but it has a lot of potential. Part of me welcomes the old moves, but I'm cautious about it since in all honesty you can get more work done with XIII Kensou then a '98 one. He's one of those I look forward to playing right away to make up my mind.

Both 98 and XIII are polar opposites from each other.  Missing his command grab (that has no animation in 98) and has better normals in 98 (ex. s.C+D,s.B,c.D,s.D). Watching the EVo build clearly shows his projectile is weaker in XIV compared to 98 . 98 fireball gave you positive frames, jaled and even at times can be used as an anti-air.  They took both kensous and combined them but left out the majority of what made kensou good in either of those games. Kensou is clearly incomplete, especially compared to the rest of the Physcho soldier team.

Im very disappointed with Kensou and this trailer didnt help. His sprite looks horrible compared to others and he looks very unimaginative.  They really just took everything away from him. No command grab or even burning fist (99,XI). He has 98 fireball but in this game its smaller and doesnt jail, he has horrid XIII normals instead of the 98 normals to compliment his 98 fireball style. What a waste of a character.

Im not a fan of XIII at all but his movelist was much better in that game. Does he even have black flip anymore?

im really disappointed with Kensou. If youre going to make him like OG kensou he needs to have command grab and his old normals or else hes not going to be very effective. I dont see the point of giving him crappy XIII normals but not giving him rekkas and trimming down his movelist Is it just me or does his fireball seems like it just doesnt lock down.

Im African (Liberia/Guinea) and Portuguese. The country that has the most people of African descent is actually Brasil, so to say we need "African" characters is incorrect (Afro-Brasilians). I think people are confusing nationality and race. Moreover, Africa is a Continent and were not all the same. From country to country were different culturally and ethnically. Its going to be pretty hard to have a character represent  any continent with 100s of cultures.

Capoeira is a martial art that started in Africa (Angola) that was imported to Brasil. This also includes samba. So Zafina represents culture outside of Brasil as well.  Im ok with vidoegames not representing every aspect of African culture. I dont think people should look to a video game that has aliens, demons, testube babies, clones, resurrected humans and cookie monsters as a litmus test for diversity and representation of society. These are artist who just make a videogame.   KOF XIII stages are pretty stereotypical (chinese people in markets, western fat white women gorging on food, Indians on elephants etc.) and no one blinked an eye.  But this is just my opinion.

So I hear Kensou is back to his 2k2 self? Does this include his normals because he had weird normals in XIII because of his stubby limbs.

Is ramon like XI or 2k2?

SNK and allot of other countries are moving away from pachinko because gambling is about to be federally regulated.

So does that mean the artist who worked on the pachinko machine are going to be working on future titles. The graphics on those machines look better than XIV. Just wondering, I dont care about graphics just where they would be allocating the talent.

The most complete capoeria character ive seen is Eddy Gordo, but thats mainly because they motion-captioned  Mestre Barrao, who comes from an extensive lineage of (Brasilian) Capoeria masters.  I really like Elena but Kenyans dont do capoeria (weird country choice form Capcom).

Sorry for getting off track. Zarina looks ok, it could be allot worse (like having momoko back). Im interested in how she will play with the new system and the properties of her moves.  I hope they change the farting flowers super, however. Desmond stated shes a grown up momoko so shes not going to be utterly silly. I think this would have been a great chance to being back Bob Wilson. Out of all of them, Im more interested in Nelsons gameplay.

I think they should of showed us her basic fighting style more than show us combos.

I agree as well. I am a bit confused by the trailer. It doest really give me any information on her moves, im more interested in footsies, mixups and  basic moves.
