Real Bout 2 / Re: Feudal Fighting - The Wolgang Krauser thread
« on: February 23, 2012, 05:42:59 PM »
I know this topic is old is this is probably the *semi* best place to post it but thanks for the games. I can't wait to face Krauser and others again. I hope to get much stronger in RB2, it's one of my favorites from NeoGeo.

There is actually an RB2 matchmaking thread in Online Matchmaking, but glad to see someone else playing! Would you mind if I add you to our list of players of RB2?

Online Matchmaking / Dreamcancel Online Matchmaking Gathering 02/25/12
« on: February 22, 2012, 01:21:11 PM »
What - An online matchmaking event to garner interest back into playing KoF XIII Online

When - This Saturday starting at 3:00 PM CST, 4:00 PM EST

Why - Because the netcode patch has really made a different with the online experience for KoF XIII, and it's worth doing this to get everyone playing more.

Who - Anybody! Doesn't even have to be DC members. Play anyone you like. Invite them to DC or chat with them wherever. Doesn't matter who is playing so long as people PLAY!

Where - Games will be played on PSN/XBL (obviously) but players are encouraged to meet up in the DC chat. If you cannot make it there (or really prefer other means) then use PSN chats or XBL parties. Skype is an option, however I do recommend doing as LITTLE on your internet connection as humanly possible in order to have a more solid, stable, online experience. Remember to WIRE in as well: no wireless!

How - Fill out the following form:

PSN/XBL Handle:
Location:
Speedtest.net/Pingtest.net results (Connect to a server FARTHEST away from your own connection!)
Most played team:
Matchups you want more experience against(optional):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PSN Handle: steamninja
Location: Florida
Speetest/Pingtest results:

Most played team: Terry, Kim, Mr. Karate/Takuma
Matchups you want more experience against: K', Clark, Billy, NESTS Kyo, Kyo, Chin

General Discussion / Re: MLG & KoFXIII?
« on: February 16, 2012, 08:08:10 AM »
Okay guys I found a bit of information out there that SHOULD clear things up. Everyone take a look before getting upset. http://blip.tv/crosscounterlive/cross-counter-live-121-5960553 might need to skip ahead a bit I forgot what time it actually starts but Sundance does explain that this was not his, nor MLG's action. He is right, youtube DOES tend to automatically do this kind of stuff. I got the same thing once cause I was doing a Let's Play for a Zelda game but they never followed through with it. Sundance is claiming that someone is pretending to flag these videos as MLG themselves, or it's just youtube's automatic stuff. Considering how many internet tough guys and haters for MLG there are (as well as trolls) would anyone really be surprised if it was someone trying to cause problems? I know I wouldn't be.

That being said, he DOES slip up and drop KoF's name amongst titles he's talking about that MLG wants to support, so it seems as though MLG is probably going to run KoF but it's not official yet. I think it's something that should really be embraced. As for why Tekken was only run once? It was a dead game when they picked up and it's still relatively dead. MLG isn't grassroots so they can't really afford to run dead games when they run a business. Last year at CEO there were under 50 people signed up for Tekken vs 300 for Marvel. So...I imagine MLG ran into similar problems and just couldn't afford to keep it up. In any case, the Tekken players have never complained about MLG so I think it's worth seeing how it goes and not giving them crap for it if they truly intend to run it. I think with the whole issue with SRK vs MLG, they're probably concerned about their image and probably don't wanna step on any toes considering things. I say let's give Sundance the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes. KoF might even not be on the MLG circuit and it could have been a troll all along. If it is though, it's great news for high level players.

And yeah, if the options are cheap and decent please show me what you have steamwolf.
In terms of what is a cheap, better, option? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002H3BSCM/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details I recently purchased this. Someone I know who does some streaming of non-fighting games recommended this. With it, you'll need http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V0DY7U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3RXZ98XF59X38 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZA67GI/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details. I cannot promise the quality of this stuff. It's pretty cheap, so don't expect some hauppage capture card quality, but it should get the job done better than what you are recording on now. I have yet to receive the easycap in the mail (it apparently can take awhile, shipping from Hong Kong) but I will let you know how it works for me. Should be here any day now.

It would greatly help out KoF, that's for sure. I just hope MLG isn't trying to do as nilcam said and monopolize the streams. There's no legal grounds to do this...so...I'm not quite sure why they would even attempt? Maybe Sundance wasn't told SOPA didn't pass? Lol I dunno but I hope some clarification on this is given soon.

Good to hear from both of you. I'm glad to see that it's been improved in Japan, even if Japan has better internet lol. Out of curiosity, did you two both do what I said in regards to selecting a location within the country as far from you as possible? For the speed/ping test. Obviously the "official" number for my download speed is not 1.30 Mbps but that's what it's like when attempting to connect to San Francisco from Florida lol.

4/Blue Bars

3/Green Bars
Alex3rdStrike (LouisCipher) - Match felt pretty good. A bit of lag, but it was playable. Swapped hosts and didn't notice a difference.

Senior_LULZ - Match felt...decent. This was a Cali all the way to FLORIDA test! And it had very minimal input lag. Not the best in the world but the best damn KoF netcode I've experienced in awhile. It was playable, despite the huge distance. Neither of us are on fiber optics, or a real expensive internet package. Basically just standard cable internet on both ends. Both wired in with router ports forwarded for PSN. This match quite honestly has inspired me to try and get more people to come back and PLAY online. Spread the word, KoF XIII is now playable online unless you INSIST on GGPO quality (I think beggars shouldn't be choosers here...)

Found out something funny.

It's not just Max Cancels that give Neomaxes Anywhere juggle properties. HD cancels work too.

From initial training mode position:

2 stock bars, 2 drive bars (HD Mode)
j.D, st.D, df+C, [HDA] st.D, df+C, qcf+A, [HDC] qcfX2+AC -delay- qcb+A = 696 dmg

You can run up and do burn knuckle or if you're too far away and have another bar, you can use EX burn Knuckle to hit him. But that's a 2 bar HD mode combo. With qcf+C instead of A, I bet I could juggle into a free rising tackle. 2 bar HD mode combo for 70%. That's cheap.

EDIT:

Yep, HD cancelling off of qcf+C makes the opponent fly higher which means more combo stuff. Here's my renditions. Must be done near a corner.

2 stock bars, 2 drive bars (HD Mode)

j.D, st.D, df+C, [HDA] st.D, df+C, qcf+C, [HDC] qcfX2+AC -delay- qcb+A, d~u+C = 750 dmg

3 stock bars, 2 drive bars (HD mode)
st.C, df+C, qcb, hcf+CB {HD BYPASS}, [MC] qcfx2+AC, run up qcb+A, d~u+C = 805 dmg

Good stuff! Added to the first post. I'm liking the high damage and low cost of these HD combos.

Updated the first post for anyone who wants to see. I'll be adding more Terry matches to it in the near future.

Well this should help, I made this as a test run to see how my Logitech cam would fare uploading replays.  Quality is really meh, but we need all the replays we can get and I'm too poor right now for a nice Capture Card.

Thanks for uploading the match! I added it to a new section in the first post labeled "Online Matches" just so everyone can differentiate between the two (lag potentially changing things). As for affording a good capture card? Well A hauppage of course would set you back a bit but I recently invested in a much cheaper option. It's not the BEST but it cost me maybe twelve bucks for a splitter and this capture device? I can show you if you like.

I know...it's just Reiki also asked about his K' in the other thread so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone here.

It's cool. But ya know, just trying to keep things on track. Don't worry about it but just keep it in mind for the future is all. I'm not trying to bust your chops or anything lol.

Thanks for providing feedback for Reiki, Saitsu. Just make sure to stay on the topic of Terry and not get too much into his K'. Not that it's bad or anything, just need to make sure each sub-forum remains on topic etc etc.

Also: Wow thanks for that site, Reiki! I'll be doing MAJOR updates to this thread once I am done scouring through this site.

Well first off, I am hardly qualified to provide any kind of tips for your Terry but I'll give my two cents since you asked.

You're using Burn Knuckle and Crackshoot way too much outside of combos. A Burn Knuckle is not as safe as it was in 02, so it's not as wise to just toss out there as a poke/whatever. Crackshoot is also a little unsafe if it's the D version. D version has it's rewards and can easily punish crouch blockers, but when people understand how D Crackshoot shenanigans work it's a wasted effort to try. I'd call it a scrub killing technique. Overall I think you've almost got it but perhaps you should study other Terry players and try and emulate a few of their tricks? Only other thing I saw was a lack of HD combos with Terry. You did one towards the end but you can actually get more damage if you do less in that combo (according to the guy commentating at least). But yeah there were a few times an HD combo would have ended things but you didn't do it or dropped the combo. I'd say work on that and try not to be so burn knuckle happy and you'll be good. At least, that's just me lol.

Also: DOUBLE JEOPARDY OHHHHH

Thank you for posting these videos. This is actually the kind of stuff I've been wanting to see more of. I'm gonna have to scour through iplaywinner's channel now and copy url locations for not just Terry, but every character lol

Edit: The link of you vs Geo.YUC doesn't appear to be the right time of the video.

Such things are nice to look at, but they're kind of just for flash and what not. What I am in the process of working on is seeing about getting actual tournament match videos up. THOSE are much more valuable to all players as opposed to strict 100% combos that require precise spacing etc. I recommend if anyone has any actual MATCH videos of Terry, please post those! This is not a combo video thread but a video thread. Combo videos are nice, but precise spacing 100% combos are really not what you see in tournaments or online. Posting combo vids are fine, but we're just seriously lacking good match videos in the KoF Community as a whole which I find painfully disturbing.
