Are all the other characters where in the disk besides Scarlet?
As for Marvel I think an update was needed but not a completely new game imo. The game was pretty much figured out and the only thing that needed adjustment where dhc glitch and phoenix.
I like to think that the characters are worth the purchase, still hate that the character themselves are already on the disk but w/e.

one thing I'm afraid is if Nest Kyo hit confirms becomes stiff with the loss of the canceble ;df ;d. I hope that's not the case.

KOF may get that pass, but MK doesn't for one reason.  Getting an update 9 months later wasn't really expected of MvC3 early, even if it seemed...incomplete (honestly, I didn't get that rep other than Spectator Mode being absent), in which case, why did people rage over that over MK?

I'd written something really long to answer this, but I'll just summarize and say this: can't speak for MK, but with KOF DLC, you get a character (so far, old/alternate characters people did wish to see) along with a stage, music, and extra offline contect for said character. Vanilla or Ultimate, you get Jill or Shuma with their extra outfits(beating out lots of other, more desired characters), maybe more on the way, but also a slight fear in that U might not be the last disc version to come.

From a record of experience, SNK gets more leeway now for me.

PS, with Ultimate, if you bought Jill and Shuma in Vanilla, did you have to re-buy them in Ultimate?

No, my friend has the both games with Jill and Shuma. If they're installed no need to repurchase the characters.

Well there's practically no gameplay with Nest Kyo and Mr Karate. And I'm pretty sure ppl talked about Flame Iori.

What sucks is none of those character will be out when I go to NEC.

The $50 price point helps to get SNK a bit of a pass, as that's $10 of the $15 DLC.  $5 in DLC isn't that horrible.

I just wish we had gotten 1 or 2 brand new chars instead of 3 EXs.

SNK would make a great money, if they made a conspiracy/thriller style movie about the production of KOF XII/XIII. (с)

Skarlet was on disk but incomplete (No xray, no fatalities)The other dlc characters were patched in.
Jill was incomplete with missing damage info and no voices. I guess the rest of her was patched in when they nerfed Sentinel or something.
Arsonist Iori and the gang are probably largely on disk, maybe.
I can't really tell from the videos if those are from a hacked disk or a demo unit or leak from SNK labs. Their stages seem to appear randomly online. Thats free, just not controlable.
The fact that this game got released on consoles with extra modes, with colour edit, new stages & characters, at $50 is good enough for me.
The dlc is optional (unless you're a pro, then its part of your job)

After watching that video I'm now 200% sure that I will get EX Kyo when he's available!

Also on topic, I think SNKp's DLC for KOFXIII is pretty fair. You get a character, a stage, and two themes for 5$. And as was said before, this is for a game that's 50$ new instead of 60$.
