Then wait for another game. Seriously this is the best we've ever gotten for console 3S, before this the console ports were pretty bad. Yeah the game is imbalanced but who gives a fuck if they actually like the game, this is 3S and the game we've always wanted *Minus a few hitches*. Fuck a rebalance, lets get a new game set after 3 and using a similar setup.

Oh fuck, my D-pad is fucked up again. This is a new controller too. But hitting down sometimes doesn't register.

3S is only unbalanced in America... Let's be real, outside of maybe a few select players, how many dope Sean, Q, Remy, Necro, Elena, or even Hugo players place top at any tournament in the US? And I'm not talking about players who switched to Ken/Chun/Yun/Urien either, or those cats who were listed with 2 characters of different tiers like "Necro/Ken". I'm also not talking about high level players that pick low tier characters to pick on the weaker players at tournaments either (that's the only reason JWong used Sean ever).

Sure, I would like to see what could be done if the game were to be balanced, but this is one of those games I feel that if you truly put the time and effort in a character, you can beat anyone, because eventually it will come down to the player's ability to read the opponent (yomi), not what this character's advatages are over that character.

What would be dope is if they had a 3S with just the World Warriors, and I guess the new challengers, too... And no we don't have that already, SF4 is not what I'm talking about at all...

Yeah, American 3S and Japan 3S are like two different at a point. The game is still unbalanced but due to how the tournaments run and how many specialist are over their it aint that bad as it is here.

Fuck the World Warriors, one of my favorite things about 3S is that it didn't use them that much. Next SF I hope is like NG and has a primarily new cast plus  some vets.

I didn't hate the new characters, I just wondered what it would be like if Capcom was consistent. I mean these new characters didn't burt the series to a degree. When the game first came out, it sorta did, but it was like cats really weren't playing it to begin with til 3S. I know I personally used to crush in NG back in the day. I played a bit of 2I at King's Dominion, and that one Six Flags back in Maryland, but there weren't too many cats on it til 3S. I will say that for some games though, having barely a few returnees and a gangload of new heads can keep players from touching the game altogether. I'm pretty sure Blanka, Dict, Boxer, and Claw players are mad. Sim players still got a chance with Necro at least, minus a teleport and some noogie throw setups.

I wished they kept the winner screens from NG and 2I. I prefer that over the ones in 3S. Or at least keep the win screens but add the performance rank somewhere where it's not distracting...

@Wingshot. Sorry that I couldn't reply over PSN, I don't have a keypad and writing long messages is a pain in the ass.

3S is probably one of the best fighters ever made, deep gameplay, tons, literally tons of ways to play it. No two players play exactly alike... except for scrubs but that's something else.

You can play 3S however you want: You want to rush them down? You can do that with a majority of the cast. Want to play defense? You can do that too.

The only thing I can tell you is that the online right now is kinda' so-so. I've played a lot of guys and have rarely encountered Green connections, plenty of Yellow ones and they were 'okay' with the occasional dropped input and so to occasional troll with a lag switch. Don't even bother playing anyone below a Yellow connection, it's maddeningly dumb.

It's all good. I'm gonna be picking this up today, and hope to spar with you a few matches. I tend to play Ken a bit aggressively because I find especially in this game if I turtle I lose, so I try to keep pressure going while being smart (total change from my Mai in RB2, I know). I've been looking forward to playing this with good players for a while to level up but I'm still kinda new to 3S, so prepare for some free wins. :p

I too was happy to see the complete roster change in NG. As iconic as they were, and as much as I liked them, I saw them too much. It was sad to me by '97 (I think) how people wrote the game off before they ever played it, while I noticed people who took the time to explore it loved the new characters. Dudley, Ibuki, Elena, Alex - characters that made me proud to be a Capcom fan. And then they took the SFII win screen complete with beat-up loser to the next level in NG and SI. I'm with Zabel on more of a new cast by SF5.

The new cast was partly a problem (that unfamiliarity) bu the real problem with NG and 2I is that they were terrible games with bad music, bad voice over's, bad gameplay, etc. By the time 3S had come around the damage had been done and was slowly starting to reverse it self.

Ha... I can't believe I didn't notice this, even after playing so many matches and getting at Rank 10. There is no "Hidden Selection" in ranked matches. I thought that was a must in Ranked matches, that way people can't "counter pick".

Hit me up on psn @ srkkilla. I'm trying to learn necro so don't laugh

world warriors are ass. really just how many cool designs where there in ww? 3 shotos with gouki being the coolest, 2 chicks hun and cam, dj and fei and thats pretty much it. hawk and gief suck, blanka sucks, guile sucks, sim sucks, honda sucks, bison without cape sucks (alpha one was alright), boxer and matador suck ass, sagats cool. more tan half the cast sucks ass from a design perspective and from a gameplay perspective almost all of them suck. sf3 has way better characters and way better gameplay mechanics making the characters feel way more unique and complete. only thing that sf3ts does lack is balance, those beautiful si bg's and artwork, and some of the cooler characters from the 2 and alpha series (sagat, dj, fei, cammy, guy, adon, cody) and thats it. if these 7 where in sf34pimpeditions redisigned for sf3 gameplay and a good balance this could havw been the best fighter ever. its still by far the best sf game ever.

edit: i fought a pretty decent hugo yesterday. he beat me and the others 2 times and left, i wanted to try my mains on him but didnt get a chance. he was good thoug, forgot his name (ill look when i visit today).
In the end, there can only be XIII.

Okay, I just got my paycheck. I'm going to run out to a Best Buy and try to find another Logitech Dual Action controller. My current controller is not totally fucked up, but hitting Down on the d-pad isn't consistent. I tested it on my PS3 and on MAME and same results. The Logitech's are getting hard to find (especially with the good D-pad) so wish me luck.

This is what an Orange Connection amounts to: Orange connection

I think the guy was in Japan or somewhere in Asia. I don't know this, but that's what my instinct is telling me. It was laggy as fuck, teleporting everywhere. I'm surprised I won. When he did the Duck and Roll into Super at the end of round one I hit crMP just as he did the Duck and Roll.

Edit: I didn't find what I was looking for. But I did order a Hori Fight Commando controller, so hopefully that'll be good.

Running Wild

You're much better off with a Hori Fighting Commander than Logitech's junk.
