I already told you my stance on Western fantasy and it's a usual no. I don't how "cool" this pale, white, dorky haired abomination is, isn't going to change that there's going to be orcs, elves and silly DnD rules.

I actually find it funny that the entirety of Kid Icarus: Uprising is basically a metaphor for the hiatus of the entire series. They basically crack jokes about the economy and how skyworld and earth had to cope while they gone for 25 years. It's pretty funny stuff. Wish the land combat's controls weren't so awkward.

I'd rather wake up in the morning as a filthy casual than know that I'm you.
damn that actually kinda hurt

Finally, was able to get caught up with Young Justice. Damn this show is surprisingly good.

Saitsuofleaves

Yeah, but it has its flaws.  Just dropping Rocket into the team and barely addressing why she was even chosen nor giving her much dialogue was not the smartest move at all.  95% of people probably don't know who the hell she is at all, and barely caught notices of her being in the series previously.  They couldn't just show us someone saying, "Hey, here's Rocket, she's on the team, enjoy"?

Yeah, that was completely out of left field, but that isn't the first time they omit stuff to be explained later. I'm guessing they did it because Icon got admitted to the Justice League or something. Also, they didn't explain Zitara all that well either. Honestly, it's not too much of a big deal for me because I like Jojo's and it's always more about getting the plot to advance than explaining the details.

Saitsuofleaves

Well yeah, that seems to be the sense, that since Icon's in the League, his sidekick goes to the team.  But still, at least they could've given a bigger heads up.  I'm not saying do a whole origin story thing or whatever, since we're way too close to the Season Finale for that, but at least ease us in.  Rocket's watching all of these revelations and doesn't even know what the hell's going on...kind of takes away the Family feel the Team had.

As for the Zatanna thing, at least she got like two episodes being a guest star before officially joining the team.  And Artemis got the whole "Hey, here's Artemis, she saved you not Red Arrow, enjoy".

And I think they resolved the whole Team keeping secrets a bit TOO fast.  I don't mind Megan's being resolved fast because I figured it wouldn't be a big deal (Connor knowing the whole time was surprising though).  Artemis...it was kind of annoying on both sides.  I figured that SOMEONE had to have known about her background, she really doesn't hide it very well, Robin knowing also wasn't a surprise.  I think Connor's though, should've went on longer.  He was growing increasingly dependent on the shields, I'm kind of disappointed they threw that away so quickly.  I would've rather he divulged the Shields and him being part Lex with Clark in attendance.

Yeah, I was surprised by how quickly they resolved it in one go, but I was also pleasantly surprised because it caught me off guard. I still think the whole Superman/boy/Lex Luthor thing will still go on though. Superboy still has daddy issues on both sides and it's not really completely resolved. As for Artemis, you never know what else can come up, because they're still family. I think the whole point of that was to show that the real traitor was Red Arrow the whole time, but they really have to elaborate on that a bit more.

Saitsuofleaves

Well it was by mind control, which I found a bit weak.  I figured he was the mole the second he proclaimed that there was no mole on the team.  Made it a bit obvious.  But I figured he'd turn on the League and Team on his own accord, still annoyed by the fact that he was treated like a sidekick and then threw a hissy fit over Artemis joining the team.  He should've known that Batman and Robin likely knew her origins and wouldn't have let her within a country mile of the team unless they thought it wouldn't cause too many problems.  Hell, as of this moment it's turned out to HELP more, as Cheshire made Artemis a lot less dead.

I'm actually really annoyed that they even let Red Arrow on the League in the first place.  He whines that he gets treated like a sidekick, and then whines some more when the sidekicks decide to move on without him?  What, were they supposed to wait for his tantrum to end?  Then he's basically forced to join the Team even though he wanted no part of it, and then spent most of the time bitching at Artemis.  Everyone on the Team was much more worthy of being in the League (though obviously they can't be nominated since...you know, would kind of kill the show), so Red Arrow getting in was kind of a slap in the face.  Especially since he was the mole all along.  Seriously, was there supposed to be a time in there where he's seen as sympathetic because I'm not seeing it.

Yeah, I'm surprised they let him in because of his objectionable behavior to begin with. I dunno, guess Green Arrow had some sway in this somehow, but even then, some of those choices like Plastic Man (really?) and Atom were pretty pointless anyway. Their team's fucking stacked as hell and there's no need for anyone else, much less another GA clone or weak C-list heroes, but I digress.

I'm guessing they'll explain his behavior and motives, under "mind control" to sidestep that issue or "The Light" pulled strings or whatever. It's based on comic books, so I'm not surprised some stupidity falls into place.

Saitsuofleaves

Hey, don't dis Plastic Man.  He's a BEAST.  But the League just gets more people for the sake of getting more people.  It certainly doesn't hurt as long as the candidates are worthy.  JL in this continuity still seems half as big as the one from the DCAU, and it has heroes that the DCAU didn't even have, so...yeah, who the hell knows?  Plus it wouldn't surprise me if some of the team gets promoted since it seems the Teen Titans will be making their presence felt in Season 2.

As for Red Arrow, idk.  The mind control still annoys me because I don't see how you can not make it seem like an ass pull.  What, were they mind controlling him since he was Speedy?  And if not, when did they start?  I still say the story would've been a lot better served if he were in control of his actions, and was just bitter.  Though at least he isn't a drug addict like in the comics.

I dunno, I tend to like it when the JL is stuck with the optimal 5-8 members like they did in the early 2000s cartoon. Having too many people obvious led to this debacle. My problem is that if they placed "trust" on the highest importance, why'd they go with Plastic Man and Red Arrow when they've got histories for problems. Hell, they dismissed Guy Gartner solely because his comrades don't like him when he's actually quite dependable, regardless of how eccentric he is.

But yeah, seeing some of the older members get promoted like Aqua Lad who's definitely developing would work out nicely. Seeing Cyborg or Raven would be pretty sweet.

Also, it sucks that the Green Lantern cartoon is in 3D. :( That sucks, I despise 3D animation for the most part.

Saitsuofleaves

Well while I do like it when teams are more compact and personal, I understand the reasoning (5-8 heroes tends to not be enough on a world level).  More people in the League means more responsibilities divided which means tighter focus.  As for trust and what not, who knows?  We didn't get the full effect of the deliberations.  Hell, Dr. Fate wasn't even part of the League until this inauguration yet he was in the deliberations like he was already a member.  Plus I'm guessing Guy Gartner was just a "Hey, why not, let's bring him up" and then Hal and John were not having it.  I don't think Red Arrow got as much backlash (even though he should've) and Ollie probably fought to keep him on.

And Aqualad should be promoted.  He really doesn't need much more character development.  He's strong, a good leader, and confident.  His only flaw was his slight wavering when it came to going back to Atlantis, which I sort of had a problem with.  Not so much his conflict, but for the fact that they pretty much resolved it by making the choice for him.  He actually didn't know what to do...but then he found out his best friend and ex were hooked up, and yeah, good bye actually needing to make a choice.  They should've forced him to actually make the choice.  But yeah, other than that he doesn't really need much else.  Getting into the League would be good for him, would get Robin into the leadership spot he was supposed to have (I'm not bitter about it, but they pretty much spelled it out that it's his when he wants it), and get him out of the random ship with Rocket.

We know Beast Boy will be around somewhere, wonder if they'll throw Starfire in there.  Having her there while Robin's getting shipped with Zatanna currently would be...interesting, though idk how fans would like having to deal with another elongated Robin/Starfire deal...AGAIN.  Having Cyborg would be interesting considering the TT Cyborg's VA is currently voicing YJ Aqualad.  Idk if they'd do Raven until a while later.  I wonder with the Titans coming, if they'll also bring Deathstroke in just to fuck with YJ.

Actually, in the DC Universe they have multiple Justice Leagues strewn throughout the different continents. Same as how they had different Teen Titans in different countries.

I still think that they need a little bit more before Aqualad is fully fledged as a leader, because he still has issues and that he hasn't had much screen time compared to the other members. I don't think he's 100% just yet, I think more like 90%. But if he's promoted, it wouldn't be too hard to have the VA move over to Cyborg instead. And actually, I'd have someone else as leader besides Robin, they already did that in Teen Titans and while he's a good leader, I tend to like seeing unconventional leaders like how they made Iron Man do in Avengers. They could've gone with Cap'n, but it was even better to see Iron Man step up to the plate. I'd rather see Cyborg, Miss Martian or Artemis step up to be a leader and fit into a leadership role.

Also, I can't get over how good a voice actor Jesse McCartney is. As much as I hated his silly Disney run as a popstar. He's an incredible with voice overs. Especially, with how he did Roxas, because that intro to KH2 was godlike.

Saitsuofleaves

Well I really don't see anyone on the team as being capable to take over for Aqualad if he does indeed get promoted other than Robin.  Miss Martian will avoid it like the plague after the last time she tried taking over.  Connor still rages half the time.  Artemis isn't much of a leader.  Idk, maybe Kid Flash is your best bet, when he gets serious, he's the second most intelligent member of the team next to Robin.  He's one of the original members with Robin/Aqualad/Connor, and he has the potential to be the second strongest member of the team next to Miss Martian.  No guarantee we'll get Cyborg though.  While we've already been over Robin leading a team, this Robin is a complete far cry from the one on TT.  Hell, if it wasn't established that this Robin is also Dick Grayson, he'd very easily be Tim Drake as he acts like him a LOT more.  I think it might be enough to not annoy people.

As for Iron Man taking over, that's more because of how they're handling the Avengers these days.  Every single time it seems they're forming the Avengers before Cap wakes up, or while he's waking up from the freeze, making it a bad move to put him at leader, thus giving Stark the job.

And yeah, McCartney's a beast.  Roxas gave me a new respect for him.  Him and Sam Witwer went up 20 pages in my book for their VA work.

Of course none of them are leadership material, but I'm one of those that likes seeing people develop into it. Basically, people that never knew that had it in them. I say that, because I'm a person that doesn't like leading people, but I eventually figured out that I can be a leader given time and familiarity.

As for the Avengers, really the only reason in most of them is that because since Stark is putting in the most amount of money and is the first one in, they let him be the leader by default.
