Headphones

I've noticed many top players have been wearing headphones while competing. In WGC, I noticed both Mr. KOF and The Answer were wearing them. Are they being used just as earmuffs or are they connected to the console as well? I was just wondering what would be a good pair to use for a PS3 set up.

Them are connected to the console for hearing the sound of the game.

I would guess that a lot of the reason for them wearing them is to help prevent distractions from outside sources of noise (like people yelling and carrying on while watching the matches).  I'm sure that some of them also have various audio hit confirms, etc that they are used to hearing.

I'm far from a top player, but Sennheiser makes some really good headphones.
