According to Siliconera the Australia’s Classifications Board showed the release of trouble witches, a very good horizontal shooter that at first was a doujin game and later was released as an arcade game

This news was very shocking for me, but more shocking was the fact that in the board, appears that SNK-P will publish the game

I'm glad to see that SNKP now can publish games from other studios, and that now will had a very good shooter

Well, that's a new one. What a polished looking Doujin game, too! Love the Fantasy Zone-like shops.

I could deal with this. Would be very good to see SNKP stretching their wings a bit. And I'd love to see them help get some Doujin games into worldwide consumption.

Well, the rumours were true, the game will be released on november for 800 fun bucks.

I hope that SNKP releases the game in the western, as far as I know, Studio Siesta was making the localization for the english a long time ago

This game rules, I hope that the game does well and that SNKP releases more games

Might check this out. Hope SNKP's got more planned than just these types of shooters besides fighting.

I have a feeling it probably won't do too well, at least here in the States. Shmups/danmaku have always been pretty niche around here, and even DeathSmiles didn't make as much of an impact as I'd hoped it would. I really liked the doujin version of Trouble Witches; I still fire it up from time to time. The game itself is fairly easy, unless you go into deeper scoring mechanics, and the magic circle does take a little while to get used to. I do recommend it though, if you want a slick moe sidescrolling shooter.

A little reading for those of you interested in the mechanics: http://trouble_witches.mails.ne.jp/TROUBLE_WITCHES_manual.htm (from the original game, but still relevant gameplay-wise)

Don't underestimate the power of Dual-language story mode, uploadable replays, and actual use of Themes / Gamerpics / DLC, though!

... However, the fact the game has been up for over 12 hours, and the full version STILL cannot be purchased, due to some glitch... that might hold it back!  :(

Xbox Support on forums and Twitter say they're working on it, but it's amazing it's taking so much time!

It is a charming game with very nice music and overall presentation, however; seems pretty classy, and well-produced. It really tries to give off charm.

Wonder if they'll try to make an episode 2 if this does well... (O.O)

I'm baffled how SNK still has money to make games, some one clue me in, is this a completely different department?  If they need to migrate their blog page to a free host, move their videos to youtube (not that I mind), that's very telling on their financial situation.  Yet somehow, a new game?  Forgive my ignorance in advance.

Eikichi Kawasaki would not approve of this game, but I might get it just to give them money to blow on other games. All of you should do the same ;)

It was originally a doujin game created by Studio SiestA for PC. They later ported it to arcades on the Taito Type X board (like SkyStage). SNK is merely the publisher. I think it was a decent move on their part (at least in Japan), since the original Trouble Witches game was pretty well received there. Unlike in Western countries, shmups and danmaku are fairly popular and well respected in the Japanese gaming community. I hope it makes some decent revenue for SNK, especially since it's digital distribution anyway.

The game is finally purchasable now!

Kane, I think along as you are, when it comes to things like the PSP SNK Collection 0 and NeoGeo Station, haha. This really is one of their better ideas, though; Publishing is a great way to keep themselves afloat, or to promote some brands in a fairly cheap way, while their core teams takes years making the next KoF. :) Athena should be DLC for TWN! (X_X)

I rather like this though, SNK being involved with another dev; feels like the NeoGeo days. Now if only they could publish/co-develop something with the old ADK guys, or a subset of people from Taito, or the remnants of Hudson Soft...

I'm trying not to say it, but I can't resist anymore!

This reminds me of Touhou.

THE ANSWER

is this game available for US Xbox? if so I'll buy it just to support SNKP. I wish there was a way to note in my purchase something like "Hey SNKP I don't know shit about this game but I'm just buying it so you guys can make some money and invest it to make the KOF XIII console version perfect."

Yes, it is for US! Apparently, yesterday there was an issue with downloading the game, but it has since been fixed and is working fine.
