Fate of the '97 Hero Team (Chris, Shermie and Yashiro)

So i was reading up on some of the bio's from the 97 Hero Team and couldn't help but wonder about this entry



"In the New Face team's ending, all three members sacrifice themselves in hopes of resurrecting Orochi."

And yet in KoF XIII we get to see both Chris and Shermie have a cameo appearance, hinting that only Yashiro truly died.

Your thoughts?

The cameos have nothing to do with their existence. It's just for fanservice. They're all dead but then again, Mature and Vice are dead yet SNK found a way to "resurrect" them so anything is possible.

And when I read '97 Hero Team, I thought it was Kyo, Iori and Chizuru.
