Title: The Blazblue Thread: Now extended
Post by: sibarraz on December 14, 2011, 05:55:33 AM
Well, the game will be released on St. Valentine's day, personally, I'm pissed since I bought all the DLC and suddenly  those will not be worthy more, but maybe I will change my mind, at least BB is not longer a big deal for me, but is still fun to watch I guess

I'm pissed about the same thing, but this time i'll wait  a bit until the game gets a bit cheaper.
Now we need a true sequel with at least 3 new characters and i will die happy.

Man, with just one character, I can't really see how they're going to sell this to anyone besides those that missed out on BBCSI.

This just kills any hype for this game.

I am a slave to the series.

Take it from a guy who's got every GG version ever released - quit now or wait till they drop drastically in price.

I never bought any of the DLC characters (they looked great, but I couldn't justify the price).

I'll probably pick this up once it drops in price a bit.

afaik US release will cost only 40$
but i can't wait and already ordered japanese version
and what's with people saying it's same game as CS2 and complaining about only 1 new char? are you still playing ggxx reload? people buying every year cod and it have less difference between versions.

I brought all the DLC characters to practice with them in anticipation of Extend's balance changes.

Also, 364 days after MvC3's release? Odd if you ask me... besides, the Vita doesn't come out until the 22nd of February, so I see no point in releasing the Vita version a week early...

Why not just start a new franchise or reboot Guilty Gear? Why does Arc keep milking the cow? Even Capcom has limits.

Yeah, they only ever do it 7 times.

But in all seriousness, who the hell knows?  They know the fans demand GG and aren't as fond of BB as they are of GG, yet they keep thrusting BB down people's throats.

It's not the first time Arc has milked a cow Louis. GGXX hit 5 seperate releases I think.

And what's this I hear of Capcom and limits of re-releases?

wait, milking? it became good after cs2, bbct was bullshit and cs1 was broken(ib 5A lol), if it was still ct or cs1 then i already stoped playing bb. CSEX have nearly perfect balance. They improving alot BB with every release. It's still top3 in arcadia rating and is more popular than gg used to be. There will be at least 1 more BB big release, with new story and i think new chars and system/balance changes.
lol at Capcom. They now re-releasing their best ps2 games.

It might be a little unfair to call it milking since there are improvements with every entry, yeah, but anyone who's used the term milking, like me, may want to see more than what's being given. Past BBCS, I guess it feels like AE changes meaning balancing patches and an additional character or two, but not a lot to really make it stand out like a distinct sequel. Hopefully the next BB will be very big and very different from CT and CS, and hopefully they take it easy on DLC and get a great balance the first time out.

I could understand that with Guilty Gear, because it was still before fighters became big online and were still primarily for the arcades. Upgrades like that were acceptable.

40 bucks for ONE CHARACTER, a rebalance and a vestigial new story mode addition just don't cut it today. This easily could have been a download choice.

I just don't see how they can keep the hype on this series for much longer with how this is going. I used to actually like this series back when CT was around.

If I find the game cheap, I will buy it, just for the story mode which I really liked, and for tsubaki, even though sadly she seems to be nerfed to hell, I hope that she is still a decent character to play

The problem is that ASW only can super nerf or super buff the characters. Still i want to play this :) no matter who is broken

tsubaki is still playable, she just a bit weaker than other chars. Definitely not shittier.

That's good I guess, since in vainilla CS she was nearly low tier, but still found her decent, if weren't for litchi....

Anyway, balance wise, is cs II Extended better than previous  cs?

personally I believe it gets more and more balanced in each game.
Extend seems more balanced since more characters are causing problems for people. Namely Tager and Hakumen. Two characters that never got a break in the previous games

hakumen was strong in cs1 and solid in cs2, spark won evo using haku, about tager you're right, he was always tager tier.
balance in csex is very good, gaps between tiers are small and every char can win. I think it's most balanced game at this moment.

I would hope so, if they were getting worse, it would kinda break the whole point of a "rebalance".

I still think I'll wait and see on Tager (who's my old main), game's too young to be jumping to conclusions like that. Also when it gets sent to the bargain bin, I'll take that for 10 bucks I guess.

Hakumen was lacking in cs2, he could win but a lot of the other characters just simply had more options than him, or simply had higher damage output. Coupled with extremely slow meter gain, left constantly without any battery power to continue pressure, damage. But by no means was he was bad as his calamity trigger iteration.

Seriously, Extend has the best fighting game tutorial I've ever seen. I love that the finale is a short intro to each character and their play style. I'm really enjoying this game despite not liking the previous versions.

Hmm...I got the initial BB:CS but played it twice and forgot about it.  I might look into Extend...maybe...but I'm really bad at switching between games.

i kinda wish this was just a 15 buck upgrade like AE i know their is a new story mode and maybe a few other extras but i dont really wanna pay 40 bucks for 1 new character (and one i know i wont use i might add) and a few balance changes

Well I don't mind...mostly because I paid for NONE of the CS upgrades so if I do get Extend, I win.

Some weeks ago amazon offered the LE for 40$ instead of the usual 60$ it costs, so i asked a friend to pre-order the LE for me, but he took too much time and missed the deal, which sucks.

Now i don't know if i should wait for a price drop of the LE or just get the normal edition now for 40$.

CD Soundtrack, Calendar and Artbook.

Don't know how many songs/pages are in the soundtrack or artbook, so don't know if they are worth of buying the LE right now.

Actually, 1 million yen isn't that much when converted and then you gotta factor in that it's a 3 way split.

You're way better off on the League of Legends or Starcraft money.

Well if we all just wanted money, Fighting Games would be the most worthless things ever for the reasons you mention, on top of you know, having a job would be a lot better as well.

But 4K each is not bad at all.  It sure as hell paid more than Final Round Marvel.

It is Japan after all, but I was just pointing out that isn't anything to blow a load over.

Of course, I'd never jump ship to DOTA For Babies(TM) and This Genre Still Has Archaic Building Plans and Resource Management(TM)

EDIT: It's not even the fact that they're more established, it's the fact that those genres are plain more popular and/or staid.

I was more surprised by the game itself that got the money.  I wouldn't have cared if it was a Capcom game, but for Blazblue of all things to get it was shocking.

I understand that it is, but in order of more money to be put on the table than even things like the TOPANGA League for Blazblue specifically?  I'm not saying it doesn't deserve it or anything, but I'm still surprised.
