I don't know if anyone noticed, but SBO put up the rules for XIII a few days ago. Noc and I were trying to get a decent translation of the rules, but the last two seem a bit unclear:
Rule 1: No Hwa Jai fly off the planet bug
Rule 2: No Vice character freeze glitch
Rule 3: No Overkill(?) Im guessing it means no 100%
Rule 4: Involves Ralfs Neo Max. Something to do with doing his Neo Max while opponent is in the air. I think it locks them in the air or something
Someone who knows Japanese, please sort out those last two.

Seems like Kotaku translated the rules here (http://kotaku.com/5602075/the-king-of-fighters-xiii-is-buggy-and-needs-special-rules).
It's a shame that the only time they speak about the game, they speak about bugs.
-
It is kinda unpleasant to read that those posters making such a fuss like "this game sucks because it has bug" and "...I won't play this game because it so bugged" and etc...
-
Well, count on kotaku to be complete dickholes about everything. Its just to get press and seem edgy.
And count on their readers to be even more retarded.
-
That's the last thing the game needs. More bad press. Sometimes i swear everyone just wants to see the game fail.
-
Really annoying that KOF gets bad rep for having bugs when SFIV gets away with having tons of infinites and several bugs that had to be patched.
Hopefully all of the glitches will be fixed (and maybe Mature's infinite too but unless it's really easy and abuseable i don't really care) and then the game will be perfect again.

It's because, well, a lot of people do want it to fail since it's KOF.
Sucks, but people are just idiots.

Aren't you guys being a bit too defensive? He even says:
"Bugs suck, but pinpointing them in the arcade version will hopefully ensure that they do not make their way into the final game. Think of this as beta testing!"
While this could have been worded a bit more intelligently, I still think it adds a nice positive side to the article to end it with.

The thing is that many of the commenters on Kotaku are unreasonably harsh just because of a few bugs in an otherwise great game. I have a feeling that they are still feeling burned by KOF XII and don't want to believe that SNK can redeem themselves.

I think those infinite combos won't matter if the tag system is still there..am I right?
-
in this day and age, is there a single reason these cabs aren't updatable?

Someone on SRK mentioned that the ones 13 runs on are updatable.
Here's hoping SNK is just waiting on enough bugs to be found so they can make one big fix instead of a number of small ones.

The japanese and online features don't mix well, still something simple like patching with a USB-disk containing the update should be possible?
-
somehow, the japanese + intaanetuphobia = non-sequit. just because they fudged up the internet features for XII doesn't mean JP is some kind of retro-loving country, it's just they don't really need the online features that much.
i think all the new arcades will be fixed from the factory as soon as they fix the bugs, then it's a matter of updating the (few) arcades that are out there.

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't ban Mature's Infinite.

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't ban Mature's Infinite.
Well its not like ppl banned Angel's in 2k2.

Come on...

Come on...
Its no like I approve but that's how its been, its not unusual to see Angel's infinite and May Lee's, KOF13 Vice-like, bug be used in 2k2 matches.

Yeah but only the best of the best land that infinite in it's complete form with any consistency...and even then they still mess up at crucial times every now and then. Mature infinite is way to easy to initiate AND continue. Not only that, but you can spam the initiating moves and not even know how to use Mature and you would do far better than you should...whereas Angel, you gotta put in alot of practice to even use her on a basic level.
-
Yeah Mature's infinite is a no brainer compared to Angel's. Which would make me lower than that for screwing up the infinite haha.
-
It is pretty braindead, do Despair (qcf+P) then Rekka endlessly. I think you can also do it off of a reversal.
-
Easy or not, infinite's are the hallmark of a bad game, so they get removed every time a dev wants to improve a game. UM Angels infinite was the first thing to go. and despite her still being a good char -surprise surprise- she hardly gets used. When they update 13, mature will lose hers. Enjoy em' while you can.

Same, that's the first thing that popped to my mind. I wonder if that's what they meant by "overkill".

Overkill refers to %100 combos, I think.
-
Overkill is just the name of one of Vice's moves.
-
weird I really thought it would be banned.
-
could they mean "abuse" when they use the word overkill?

Doing some spring cleaning, locking up threads that are done.
