Title: Cartoon Thread
Post by: sibarraz on September 29, 2011, 01:21:49 AM
Cartoon Network Rap (1995) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT1wXm-rqLo#)

Well, let's talk about cartoons

I honestly like lots of cartoons from today, but for time reasons (Plus not knowing the schedule of the TV here) I can't watch them as much as I want, I will like to see Regular Show, Adventure Time, Batman the Brave and the Bold, or others, the only one that I give the time to watch on youtube is MLP:FIM

So any comments? I liked the beginning of season 2 of mlp

Is Avatar: The Last Airbender (and the upcoming Legend Of Korra) a cartoon? If so, then that's what i like. But i also enjoy classic stuff, specially from the '90s, and some actual cartoon here and there.

The new Looney Tunes are fun to watch. Funny to see they are doing episodes with story behind it, so you kinda need to see some old ep to get some of the stuff on the new ones.

MLP is another one that is getting lots of attention, I won't lie, I have seen it and it's funny and has lots of reference to Tom & Jerry and old Looney Tunes. Also it helps that some of the ponies are just funny to watch.

I saw Justice League Season 1, it was good, haven't seen Season 2. Same goes to the new ThunderCats, I have yet to see that one.

Fluttershy must be one of the best written characters that I had seen on a cartoon, just because they had written her to be so nice that when you actually see her angry, feels special

^Both statements above me are correct.

I saw Season One of Beast Wars for $25 bucks at my local Wal-Mart. I didn't buy it and I don't know why. Now I hate myself more.

I watched some 90's superhero cartoons last summer. I lend bunch of DVD releases from local library.

First I watched some 1960's Spider-man cartoon. Kinda silly and it had lots of animation recycling.

After that I watched 1970's Spider-woman cartoon. It was horrible. Couldn't watch every episode on the DVD.

After that I watched whole 1990's Fantastic Four series. First season was awkward, but it got better at season 2. Not the best, but still watchable.

After that I watched 1990's Silver Surfer series. Never liked that character. And the whole series he was bitching about his homeplanet and his love intrest. Worst of all, it ended in cliffhanger.

And finally I watched first episodes of 1994 Spider-man cartoon. I remember liking it so much as a kid, but reality struck at the moment the first episode started. Characters looked bizarre, if the baddie had a gun, it was laser gun, animation was God awful sometimes and the theme song wasn't that good as I remembered. Pretty much only good thing about it was storyline.

btw, I had been looking a compilation of spiderman from the 60's which showed how stupid it was, it had 2 parts, and I could never find it

Snapshot just about anything and you've got an 80s metal cheese cover. The look and animation of it is very impressive, though i don't think i've ever seen an episode but i hope the animation is good (maybe not as good, but one could hope) throughout the episodes.

A pup named scooby doo has aged better for me than the original since this one is clearly a parody of the original

Specially the dances parts

Still, the fuck with all those shows with kid versions, the flinstones, yogi, tom and jerry, they weren't bad actually, but it was a really weird trend

Don't forget Muppet Babies.

The worst of them all though... Baby Looney Tunes. Ugh.

They also made a kid version of the Pink Panther.

A pup better than original Scooby? Ridiculous. The original series is still to this day something absolutelly unique and amazing, and eventhou it is really naive, it has a great sense of mistery.
