When GGPO worked, great games from everyone I played. Can't wait till the next one of these. Always love fighting those at my level or better; raises the need to sharpen my skills every time.

I'm glad people enjoyed the event.

The next session will be sometime mid next month.

Watching the videos, is there anything you guys learned or would have done less or more of? Any characters you have trouble against?

I would say that I have trouble against against Billy because of his reach with his staff and that his jump attacks have very good priority. I also think I need to stop jumping so much toward Athena because I kept getting air thrown and jumping into Shining Crystal Bit. I need to also react better to her psycho teleport cross up trick that THE ANSWER was hitting me with a few times...

I greatly enjoyed the event. Even though I only got to play 1 set, it was invigorating. I was down 8-2 and was able to come back to end the set 10-7 and I was completely hyped. Of course, this happens every time I play Solidshark. He's forced me to completely reevaluate my team and gotten me hyped for 2002/UM again.

I'm not even gonna front, man... I need to  ;c ;d more on block when the timing is right, as I barely do that... I feel more evasive, but I need to control my momentum when it comes to advancing and turtling...

With Billy, I began to notice that my opponents would watch my moves, and inch in close enough to start rushing down or counter accordingly... Standing ;c in og2k2 doesn't seem as strong as it does in um, plus a few other moves seem gimped or strong in some areas...

I ended up taking an interest (again) in Ralf and Athena (I used her in CvS2), especially since this isn't um or 98 and I my usual team is impossible to form... Plus for some reason my execution with Iori is mad shotty now, so I need a rep for him... I do find it hard to get in close with Ralf, so my throwing ability gets eliminated quite often... I did pick up a few tricks practicing with him, but if the opponent techs, I can't use them as much... Any tips with these 2 would be great and much appreciated...

Desmond, I can't stop saying how dope that Chris was... I've played quite a few in both og and um, but fighting your Chris was somewhat different, especially with those mixups... That Kim was dope, too... You punish really well with him, and I noticed how quickly you were able to change the tide with him by capitalizing on a situation, or knowing what to combo with regardless of the situation...

I noticed some strong Ryo action in there-- I think that one goes to Solidshark...

Expect a team revamp, but more than likely Billy's a mainstay, same for Joe, but he might get swapped from time to time... Athena-- hmm not sure yet... Might stick with Ralf for awhile... Btw, what's the matchups looking like for Ralf and Athena anyway???

I had fun with every match I played. Wanted to dominate against everyone, but learned loads from those who beat me, especially Jinx and Feez. All of my matches may have me thinking of strategy and/or character changes the next go-round.

Thanks again to Desmond for holding the first - awesome job hosting and keeping track.

Well against you, I thought you actually played kind of worse than all of the other sets, so I was going to ask you if you were perhaps experiencing some lag. It didn't really look like you wanted to play in those matches.

I think the main thing most people need to work on is knowing when to attack and when to block...and just getting more knowledge about the game (recoveries, ranges and hitboxes of moves). Execution of combos really needs to be improved as well...

Feez I think is on a higher level than the other players there so he needs to work on some different things...just reading better mainly and knowing the distances to zone with Athena.

I'm not really comfortable making excuses but I will say that after playing Solidshark then getting whipped by Feez (two players of VASTLY different styles) I was sort of ready to call it a day. But the whole goal behind the FT10s is test players endurance against each other in a small window of time, and I think I got a little burnt out once we got around to playing, so my apologies.

ggs to Desmond, bgs to Emil since it was lagging like hell and you were teleporting everywhere. I stopped caring after 3 matches in and I don't like playing like that. And you blamed me for your own lag...I ran multiple pingtests during the session and then tested with like 5 other people. :/

if you want to go into more specific on what/how i can improve, that'd be cool too...I think I've been getting a little better on my Athena reads, though I haven't been using her as much as I used to.

I did ping tests afterwards too, no packet loss...I wasn't teleporting on my end. That said, I've fought people in which I saw them teleporting and they didn't see me teleporting, so I don't know what's up with that.

:( @ Icewater for having that annoying cross up as your avatar lol ggs man enjoyed it as well nice turn out. I've got to try and get some practice but at least my execution is getting a little bit better in matches managed to land a few combos happy about that. I also have to stop spamming DPs it annoying that you can't use them as much in this game. I was kind of curious about the dps in KOF. What constitutes a knock down on a wake up and why does it not do a knock down in some cases? More critiques would be appreciated also.

This is something I was abusing against you...I'm not sure why you kept doing it. Some dps (such as Kyo's) do 2 hits...the first hit is not a knockdown. The second hit is a knockdown but it can whiff against certain crouching opponents. Most characters can just crouch B Kyo on wakeup and your dp will whiff. Keep in mind that Kyo's dp+A does knockdown on all hits but it has no invincibility, so it might actually lost to something like Iori's crouch B. The solution is to stop using dps on wakeup.

You mean like why does it not knock down when you hit with a dp?  Hoping so, because that's what the rest of this post is about *laughs* .

Basically, a lot of dps that are multihit (particularly the strong [ie. C or D] versions) only knock down on the last hit.  They tend to juggle into themselves fairly well on anti-air hit, but hitting against a grounded opponent (especially against low crouching characters like Iori or Leona) can lead to situations where only the first hit connects.  The solution is to either use the weak version (tends to be single hit, so always knocks down), find something better to reversal with (like how Kula's better anti-ground reversal is qcb+B), or just block.

Edit: Sniped by Emil *laughs* .

Love that crossup since its the only one I can do everytime. :) Like everybody else said its best just not to dp with someone like kyo. Do guard cancel rolls/cds if you get stuck in the corner or if you're under a lot of pressure, I've been doing pretty good playing like that.

GGs everybody. I think I played Ryudo as well, it was 5-1 for me.

You guys should stick around on #SNKPlaymore if you want to get more games in. Most people who join in the ft10 sessions are available daily for matches.

We can do session 7 on the 28th of this month if people are interested.

Could it possibly be Sept 4th instead (or Aug 21st, but I'd imagine some of you would want more time between sessions)?  28th is the weekend of Summer Jam, and I'm providing transport for our local AH3 players (plus hopefully hooking up with jt4mtb for some SNK stuff), so it's the one sunday in the near future that doesn't work for me *laughs* .

I probably won't be able to make it for that one or the weekend of labor day either.

Okay, maybe I'll wait until next month for another session. Too bad I didn't get to play Feez, Emil and some others, I was busy and away offline quite a bit.
