I'm pretty new to the KOF series and I want to really get down to the nitty gritty with this game. I live in Jersey City, New Jersey and i'm always for people to play. I rarely do netplay as there's too much of a random factor with connection quality. So i'm looking to actually start this thread so that we New York / New Jersey players can get in touch with each other and get a small community going. Perhaps stream our matches and get them recorded so that they maybe analyzed and critiqued to better ourselves.
I usually hold gatherings at my house for Melty Blood Actress Again so this is nothing new to me so if you guys are in
New York / New Jersey and are interested in this reply here and i'll contact you with a PM so that we can schedule everything.

That's the main discussion thread. The OP already said that as long as we're registered and bring our own setup we can run a side tourney. The Rutgers MPR is pretty large.

Yeah, but i'm trying to congregate the players, the community is real impersonal i'm trying to tighten it. Like the Georgia Fighting Game Community they're pretty tight. I believe that is needed in order for NYC players to grow as a unit. That's why I want people to post their gamertags and locations.

I currently live in North Jersey specifically Kearny (which is by Newark for those who don't know) and I currently am trying to get into the local scene. I have been to a couple of break tournaments and I would like to improve by playing more offline matches. Unfortunately, I always work Tuesday and Thursday nights so I can't participate in tournaments like The Break Weekly and Local Battles because they start when I am still at work. Does anyone know of any tournaments that are not on those days?

Ok so after watching the Kumate yesterday, East Coast's skill level overall is shit & this needs to change ASAP. I'll be moving back to Queens this Wednesday, so anyone who's really trying to get better needs to post up on here & contact me because I know people, we all need some fire lit up under our asses because this play is so atrocious & some of the commentary does not help, giving misleading information to stream viewers who are interested in the game. Marco's my boy & no bad blood to him, but he should not be winning that easily when Zidane/XAQ/RyRy (Who's from VA) are not in attendance at all, so if you're mad at me, good, then step your shit up. Also that's not to say I don't appreciate what people are doing but this scene here is so stagnant about actual progress, do you guys not care about losing to the same Month 2 shit, good god, anyway, I hope this helps.

1st Kumate #6 Has been posted and it's been pushed back to Sept 7th and pertaining to that can anyone make a flyer for this event. The main problem with tournaments and this one is no exception is publicity, and a flyer would increase it's publicity and help expose it. Kuma has posted it on SRK, DC, and Orochinagi and I personally think a folder will go nicely. At the bottoms here's the link for the event so post and show your support.

Sorry to double post, but Aug 17th - 19th "The Secret Society" aka My House is opening its doors and having a Pre-Summerjam KOF session. Currently the attendees are as follows. There are a few shops around to get food, and 3 tvs so we can have multiple setups, other setups can be brought to add to the excitement. This house is also very barebones and I do mean barebones perfect for gatherings. Max number of attendees is 12 so lets fill up those slots. In regards to Malik statement,
I'm going to agree with him on this. Malik and mostly everyone knows of my play style and credibility as I place in local and majors. However that's not the case of discussion. The EC community needs to grow and commit to a community as a whole. I attempted with Drive Cancel and created a scene for the EC. However its up to the players to do their part as well. In response to the last Kumate, he does have a point. I genuinely wanted to see a new challenger that wanted to step their game up. Besides my NJ friends as I sparred with them, no one necessary step it up (even Dynicksty beat Chris Hu and hes known as a 98 god back in the good ole days). As you saw in the videos, I play 6 different teams with choosing my main in winners finals. I would have like to play my friends (Josh, XAQ), but they were at work :( But for you guys, if you want to get better, you need to commit and go out there. I want to help and do my part in helping the community, but I, Malik, Nick, nor others can't do it on their own. So here is an opportunity that is offered. Go to sessions, make friends, and make the effort.

OK guys so the House of Crack tournament is scheduled to happen tomorrow if the weather doesn't get as bad as reports are saying. Venue and Entry are $7 a piece totaling to $14, 360 is the system being played on, All DLC characters will be available, and tournament time is scheduled to be 3:00PM, don't be later than 2:45PM. If the weather is too bad then this will be postponed until next Friday with the same rules. So KOF is done at Battle Circuit but it had a decent run IMO, everyone should honestly be trying to push to make the TSB monthlies as far as on-going tournaments are. Savage Saturday this weekend is being done as a trial so the turnout will determine the future of it on there

Ok so the next major The Northeast has coming up is NEC XIV & usually around this time The Secret Society trains up to be in the best possible shape & have been doing this for more than three years now. Since I myself & most of us lead busy life thus making it difficult to meet up, I am going to propose an idea inspire by what I went through playing Melty Blood Acrtress Again on the days when it was on PS2 only. FROM THE WEEKEND STARTING October 18-20, there will be a session ONE of the weekend days (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) to sit, play, critique, and to enjoy the game UNLESS there is some event or other plans take that much priority. ANYONE is welcome as long as they know how to conduct themselves & behave. IF you display signs of behavior that is out of place and disrespect that is uncalled for, you will be asked politely to leave then otherwise things will get "messy." So as I said ANYONE is welcome, BUT if you wish to partake LET ME KNOW because I will NOT go out of my way to help YOU out, everyone needs to be responsible for themselves & learn how to manage their own time/schedules. Hope to see people show up looking to seriously improve themselves & take themselves to another level.

KOF's been taken out of Team St1ckbug monthlies as of the last tournament in case no one heard yet. So as it stands there's no tournaments going on in the NY/NJ/PA area aside one coming up in November but that's a one time thing & this is just a heads up

We're going to try to make this a permanent thing for every one of these events since it seems that people can make it there. The next one is January 27 so try to make it there for those interested in playing with people in Manhattan or in NY period. APEX is this weekend & if you're going to KOF only, you only have to pay the $20 spectator fee since it's a 1-Day event and the entree fee ($10) for it. A few people are going to Mashfest at Fashion 40 Lounge this Monday, it starts at 6PM and ends at 10PM, $5 to get in and you have to be 21 or older to enter since it is a bar. Most of the guys who plan on playing are going to show up either exactly at 6PM or no later than 7PM so show up early otherwise you'll miss an opportunity to play with people in the city.

Reviving dead thread to post some information directing people to our meetups. If you are in New York, Next Level (874 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232) hosts weekly tournaments on Wednesdays that start at 8:00 PM. Sometimes we meet on Fridays for casual sessions as well but as of now it's kind of a sporadic thing.
If you can't make it to Next Level, there are lots of other events that happen all over the city on different days but they aren't weekly.
