Title: What music does NEST Kyo come with? Are there B music options for DLC?
Post by: Zerrminator on December 07, 2011, 07:45:49 PM: It's hard to hear it in this trailer. Is it Tears Arranged? And does anyone know if switching the Music option to B enable different music tracks for the DLC characters? I forgot to check last night with Flame Iori.

I really wish they release DLC Music packs with KOF96-99 Arrange tracks. I would pay $10-20 for that no questions asked!

Post by: SAB-CA on December 07, 2011, 08:34:44 PM: Yes, the DLC Characters come with B side music. It's not all known so far, the way it seems, though.

Iori has Arashi No Saxaphone 2 (Arranged) For A side, and Arashi No Saxaphone 2 (NEOGEO Version) for B side.

NESTS Style Kyo's Main theme is:

There's a video of his mission trials that uses this music from Skystage:

But it's unclear if that's used in game for him as a side B, or just the Combo vid creator's taste.

Which version is the side B? Is it the original OST version or the AST version from 96?

Post by: SAB-CA on December 07, 2011, 11:01:34 PM: OST '96. The reason it's called "NEOGEO Version" is because it's the music of the original Neogeo cart, which didn't allow for CD-quality audio. AST's are mixes made for CD based systems (NGCD, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, etc).

Well hopefully that means that they're planning an AST DLC pack, because the AST's from 94-00 are the best.

Post by: SAB-CA on December 08, 2011, 12:03:24 AM: It's actually possible. If you look at the "Track A / Track B" soundtrack option, there is enough space for something like a "Track C" option to fit in there... much like there's room for the DLC characters to fit into Mission Mode Trial screen.

Yep and it's not like it hasn't been done before. Capcom released two DLC Music Packs for 3rd Strike Online Edition. In terms of development cost providing new music options is fairly straight forward as long as the game was setup to handle DLC music from the get go.

I just hope there's more DLC apart from the three announced characters...

Iori (claws) has the Arashi No Saxophone (kofxi remix) in his side b, so there was no point for giving it to the ex version

But I'm just glad he has a form of "The Tengu Show" at all.

KoF XII had alt soundtracks for download, so wouldn't be suprised if SNKP planned for it in this game, too. XII's remixes sounds kinda cool too, so it'd be cool if they either offered more classic themes (as Rex noted), or new remixes of the XIII themes (maybe even Neo Geo style versions, as they did with XI's arranged side...)
