Title: Listening to music while playing
Post by: DjWizdom on June 03, 2012, 02:33:55 PM
Do you? And what genre?
Do you feel it helps you play better or perhaps break up the monotony of the in game music?

I usually do, I listen to Jungle/Drum n Bass (Shout outs to all my fellow Junglists where they may be). Me listening to my favorite genre, helps me, I suppose, zone out of life a bit and focus more on what I'm doing. It does break up the monotony of the game music however, sometimes the in game music gets me amped just as much. Depends on which song it may be.

Actually, this is a good reminder.

Used to do that with driving games. Turn off bgm, leave on sound effects, and throw on my own tunes.

May start trying that with KOF.

If it's KOF or most other fighters, I never usually want to replace the music. The only games I've wanted to change music on on occasion is UMVC3 (because I wish they kept it to one theme per match), KOFXII, and especially MVC2.

lmao, yeah the MvC2 music was HORRIBLY repetitive. I'd have to say that I rather listen to silence than that. but some of the character stages had some great BGM.

I don't often replace the music but when I do its some kind of metal or rock with varying things thrown in for effect.

Think Metallica followed by the likes of Iron Maiden, Here comes the Kraken, Slipknot, and for the odd stuff, things like Michael Jacksons, Smooth Criminal.

Gotta keep it quality.
