Just in case you missed it, we launched the official Dream Cancel podcast (http://dreamcancel.com/?p=697) last Monday.
We plan to cover all things King of Fighters and SNK, as well as Dream Cancel community events. Check out the first episode and leave us feedback. If you have any questions or suggestions, post them here.

We've all got our preferences. I love Another Day a lot, but I'd love to hear 98 intro music down the line somewhere too. It's kind of ridiculous how many good tracks from SNK there are to choose, even for just opening a podcast.

Great job guys, I just downloaded the podcast (took my phone FOREVER to download it on 3G) and I pop in my bluetooth and listen to it in the car.
I told nilcam this, the socal guys wouldn't mind doing a podcast but it's going to revolve mainly on XIII since we no longer play the variety of games that most of you guys do.

But that's where I can pick up the pace, the games that are not KOF13, I can help take over from there, meaning KOF 98UM-XII including NGBC, SvC Chaos, Last Blade 1, Waku Waku 7, Power Instinct MatriMelee, Rage of the Dragons, Double Dragon, Fatal Fury Special, World Heroes 1,2, Jet and Perfect, Real Bout 1 and Special, Samurai Showdown etc.
So we can still have everything covered.

DG, I think you have so much games to cover you can do your own podcast alone! =) Of course I mean that respectfully, we don't mind coloborating but the topics are going to be different. :)

Yo, we can definitely have shows centered around one game or even one topic (like our first show was just mainly only about the GGPO KOF2002 session) that way we wont run out of topics and have more different kinds of episodes. I'd think it would be fun, if that's where you are getting at Dark Geese and Kane317.

Kane317- Yeah man, I'll just offer my help as much as I can so that no one feels left out, I'll let you guys handle KOF13 (until I get my hands on it heheheheheh), and I'll help on the podcast with the majority of the other SNK games, but of course I am sure Nocturnal can take Garou MOTW RB2 etc, so if we all team up I am sure we can have pretty much every SNK fighting game covered to some degree!

I agree... There's at least 3 series (and about 4 spin-offs/side games) each with about 2-5 major installments that could be discussed over time, but depending on the general direction, we can ultimately determine the direction(s) of the podcasts... Plus if we do decide to stick with one game for a bit, there's also character discussions and things like that, kinda like how Aris and MYK run their Tekken podcasts...

Are the podcasts being "shared" to other FG communities, or is this strictly gonna be a KOF scene only affair??? What I mean is are other communities being informed or are they ever, or is this gonna be kind of a "DC only" or "SNK players only"??? I'm asking this because I believe having the other communities hear us voice our opinions and views about whatever in the podcasts will allow them to see how serious and devoted we are within our community, hopefully drawing some attention to bring newcomers and old heads back into the SNK scene and giving more of a reason to start running tourneys with KOF/Garou/FHD/Breakers in it...

We post these on all of our outlets (homepage, Facebook, Twitter) and also let SRK and Iplaywinner know about them. SRK posted the last one on their homepage. Nothing so far from iPW. It is also posted on NeoGAF.

Well that's good the word is getting out... I'm personally tired of SNK and its players getting a bad wrap in general, especially in the US/EU... Hopefully, these podcasts, and our other actions (sessions, tournaments, etc) will continue to be as loud as our words... Of course hater's are gonna hate (look at FHD vid of JWong vs DNYC3 and listen to the announcer), and ignorance isn't always hate, but either way that's what we're here for: to set the record(s) straight...

I blame nilcam lol. The STA episode we did was slated to be the final installment of Drive Cancel Radio. We planned on starting a new cast on eLive but ran into some technical difficulties. Around late December, we recorded and put up a DCR episode reviewing the past year of KoF (I have no idea where it is, since it's not up on the front page or in the podcast section anymore). I'm not too sure where the podcast/cast projects are headed at the moment. I'll try to find out more details for you. If the interest is there, I would definitely love for nilcam and Desmond to produce more episodes of DCR.

Would anyone be interested in a podcast series where we talk about only ONE character with top to intermediate players discussing the in's and out's of that character?
I'd be interested in that. It would be nice to possibly compile a lot of data about said character and go over parts of it with the guest player too.

Yep. Character specific podcasts would definitely help others learn more about the character and we can probably provide more updates to the KOFXIII wiki sections, among other good things.

I'm down for contributing to an Elisabeth episode but I recommend trying to get people like Zerp, Answer, Romance, BALA, etc... as they probably know way more about the character than me.

Just keep in mind we are looking for pro players talking next to mid-level players to give podcast episodes more diversity and perspectives.

Looks great Desmond, I was kind of stuttering there in the beginning for a bit, glad to hear my voice in english for once to say the least.

Great stuff Desmond. I don't know if you remember but I talked to you about the podcast at Frosty Faustings and stuff like this is exactly what I was looking for. While the tournament coverage is good for the other podcasts I felt like they were too much about about making the scene grow and gripes about KOF getting te shaft. I think this will help the scene grow by distributing useful and accessible information.
Wish list:
-Juicebox and David Kong for system mechanics once characters are done, there might be other players but those two are great at explanations and of course Dandy J or Kane 317 would be awesome as well.
- Possibly Konkrete for Vice, since he one of the few US us Vice players that I can think of.
-Mario E for Terry
-Anyone you can get ahold of for Joe, he needs more love, Hellpockets just out of character love, bala plus translator for tech.
I know it's tough enough to wrangle one person for interviews but having people that approach the same character in a different way would be fantastic.
Keep this up, this is exactly what I want from the site.

To be honest regarding system information and mechanics there are a few videos we have on the site, on the forums and written information based on that, so I don't think a podcast for explaining that would be needed. Juicebox made a 1 hour video explaining KOF at UFGT8 and a few other stream archives on that, plus we have the Atlus videos explaining the system mechanics too.
Oh yeah, I already have NCV/Konkrete finished on a Vice podcast. We recorded it a few weeks ago. :)
Myself and others who are helping me contact folks have a little dream list of players we want interviewed, it's only a matter of if they are available or interested or not.
Also, I have a few podcasts recorded with 2 or more players speaking upon on character too.
Thanks for your feedback man! I will be at UFGT next week or so. Tones wont be going unfortunately. :(
