Title: Seattle, Washington
Post by: Rex Dart on May 24, 2011, 12:13:19 PM
I'm planning to move to Seattle later this year. I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask early.

Any SNK fans in Seattle?

I know SonicTempest from orochinagi.com is out there. He's in need of some SNK comp.

Are you leaving Japan finally?

Yup, this Summer. I'll really miss the arcades.

I really hope SNKP announced XIII for consoles before I leave. Otherwise it's going to be a very sad departure.  :(

I have a friend in Washington that likes SNK games, and is also excited for XIII to come out.  He lives way out in the middle of nowhere, but he does try to make it to the tournaments that Jason Cole holds in Seattle, so you'll probably see him there.  I'm sure if you bring KOF to those tournaments, he wouldn't mind playing.  His handle is "YabukiStyle".

Man where the hell is this guy if he wants to play SNK shit, I'm always at Cole's stuff or anyone else throwing events that will let em hook up the PS2.

If you ever see a big black dude with dreads and glasses at a Seattle gathering that's me.

This game will be coming out during mid-terms or close to it, regardless I'm still trying to play.  I'm looking to get into KOF XIII as a serious fighter as much as I can.

Doing the combo trials on KOF-i, for now.

Down in B-Town.

I have KOF 98UM, 2002UM, SS2, NGBC, and Garou on 360.  Terrible doesn't begin to describe, how I am at these games.  Sorta lol.

Anyone know anyone I can get in contact with when it comes to picking up DDR machines and older arcade games? Job Corp Recreation is interested in picking some cabs to expand the Rec Center and ask me to hit some people up, PM me if anyone has any info.

ON stands for OrochiNagi, another SNK centric forum.

Been messing around in trial mode for a week.  My fundamentals are straight garbage.

There's a Game Clucks tourney going down at Dante's in the U District in Seattle on the 14th of Janurary.  I will have time off and they need two set ups.  Most likely I will provide one setup(SexBox 360).

Here's the website for the venue  http://dantesseattle.com/ (http://dantesseattle.com/)

Hope to see you guys there if not sooner.

C'mon guys we have a more than a months time, let's try to get a KOF scene going.  With XIII hitting on all cylinders, there's no reason there shouldn't be people playing this game.

Hey all, I'm a regular at GameClucks in Lynnwood and every Thursday, they hold casuals and I run a cheap $2-3 tournament. That being said, this Thursday we will be having a much larger event at Dante's in the U District. Here's the Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/events/292776010759580/) and the DC topic (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1874.0). If it goes well, this may turn into a monthly or bi-monthly event.

Just to give dates and links, the three big ones this month are:
1/14 - GameClucks Monthly at Dante's (FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/104945896291197/)/DC (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1874.0))
1/21 - Seattle Foot Clan: Lunchbox Battles (FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/239773952753079/))
1/28 - Salty Runback: Revival (FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/121061351343957/)/DC (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1827.0))

Feel free to ask through posts or messages if you have any questions regarding GameClucks events. I'll be at all these, so I hope to see you there!

Edit: Oh yeah, if you find yourself near Olympia, check out the Olympia Fight Club (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1760.0) or Mother Russia (http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/mother-russia-friday-dec-30th-bustawolf-boy-band-recruitment.137485/)
Lunchbox has added KOF to its event. It will be on Jan 21. Link above.
Thursday Night Fights @ Dante's has concluded. We had 16 entrants. Grats to Duncan!

Gambreakerz this Tuesday.  Mostly Marvel, but if there's enough people we can get a KOF tourney going, if not a tourney, offline practice!

This Saturday on the 14th, I will be bringing a setupf for KOF XIII on the 360.

Sorry, I have no idea who's in that area. If you have a Facebook profile, I would try the KOF Northwest (http://www.facebook.com/groups/213676815376479/) group. You might be able to find some people nearby for, if not locals, then XBL/PSN. If you're able to travel the distance, the Salty Runback is easily our largest monthly event, otherwise, Northwest Majors should be scheduled for the March 25-27 weekend.

Weeklies
Every Week: Tuesday Night Throwdown @ Gamebreakerz in Auburn, WA - (FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/227226027375526/))
Biweekly: GameClucks TNF @ Dante's in U District, Seattle, WA - (DC (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=2039.0)/FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/398259050203264/))

Monthlies
Sat, Mar 10: Lunchbox Battles #2 in South Lake Union, Seattle, WA - (FB (http://www.facebook.com/events/221292904628313/))

Since my last post, yay, KOF XIII cabs at Gameworks! There's normally a deal every Thursday evening for unlimited plays for $10. So that's where our KOF scene has been as of late. It will be different this week as people are coming back up to GameClucks for our weekly tournament. Here's our thread (http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=2039.msg45954#msg45954). I don't know how much stream time it will get due to this being P4U release week, but I'll try to save grand finals.

If anyone in the Seattle area is interested in learning KOF now would be a great time. We just got an influx of new players all looking to learn and get better! We strive to be very helpful to all new players as we want more people to play this great game. So I urge anyone interested in playing offline around the area to come out to one of our gatherings.

Typically we have something on Thursdays in Lynwood/Edmonds and Friday by UW. We have our monthlies in Lynwood as well and randomly we will put together a house crack session in Kirkland (these are very random and usually happen day of or day after announcement).

Down south I am not aware of any big sessions but I do know we have players around the Tacoma/Auburn areas.

If you are from Portland they have quite a few good players who love to play the game there as well.

Anyways this thread is pretty dead so I may be preaching to no one but if you have any interest in the game just reply and let me know!

^ What he said!

Join us on Facebook at "KOF Northwest" and/or send me a message on here! We have weeklies and a larger monthly we'd love to have more players!

As for eastern WA, I'm not sure about the scene that way. Either way our FB group is pretty large and I imagine some of them live out that way.

Wait, Gameworks has XIII machines now? Assuming it's Climax and not the older iteration.
