Gotta love how all the screenshots say "insert coin". There's no info on the page that suggest a press release, either. And the screens look very arcade version promo.
So.... not hyped until more is known! ;) But if Atlus DOES publish this... I expect an awesome Special Edition!

I'm sorry, I had to get hype. Seen KOFXIII in my amazon page is awesome.
But I think it's official, the "Display Cover" has the ESBR "RP" and Atlus logo in it, I doubt Amazon would take the time just to do that and put it up just to later say "it's not real".

:) Yeah, solid reasoning... I know there have been info "leaks" on Amazon before, but I'm not sure of the anatomy of their situations (if there were screenshots, if they got info from deals that went sour, if they've ever been elaborate mistakes, etc), so, y'know... cautiously optimistic!
Atlus did publish Metal Slug XX on PSP, so it wouldn't be without precedent.

Yes, Atlus is at E3 and yes to your 2nd question. Atlus games have a high value even after years of been released, they tend to do collector editions for almost every game they release and all of them are great. Besides, this is no the first time Atlus published SNKP or the matter of fact, KOF games. They published KOF EX2 for the GBA in North America.

Well like I said before, Amazon placed a "Display Cover" with ESBR "RP" rating and Atlus logo in it, I doubt Amazon would do that much for a fake. Besides Play-Asia just had the name, they didn't upload any image or cover.

Been meaning to ask you what happened to the site, btw... And I know how you feel! My better judgement says "get some rest!" But the idea of the game getting released (barely 10 days before my B-day, even) makes me wanna check every site online for the potential of more "leaks"...

Atlus is known to generally take care for their products. They normally do at least 1 or 2 nice things for a games promotion, first of all.
Second, they've been known to produce limited editions for games that most other companies would never say deserved such things.
They're very good at releasing JUST enough units of games to allow themselves to make a profit, satisfy the fanbase, and make the item saught after by collectors.
I'd also say they're normally pretty "hands off" when it comes to forcing changes and such. So they seem to be a pretty good publishing partner most of the time.
For SNKP, they released Metal Slug 7 on PSP And long ago, KoF EX 2 on GBA. As far as other fighting games, they released the original Arcana Heart in the US for PS2. They normally hang with their own RPGs (Persona, Shin Megami Tensai), and unique japanese released (Like Samurai Western (ps2), Kenka Bancho (PSP) and 3D Dot game Heroes (PS3)) that'd rarely get a chance otherwise.

Yeah... to keep it short, lots of shit happen. lol
Long story:
[spoiler] I got depress like a month or so before the site got hacked, I have never been depress for so long (2 months and I was getting tired of it) and I went to a doctor to ask for medication. During that time the site got hacked, we lost almost everything. Since I was depress I didn't cared much, my depression was annoying me a lot and was my main issue. Then my cousin (founder) and I had a "fight" per say and I told him "do what ever". Then he decided to change servers and but then the money was a issue, he had bills to pay and I was paying for my meds, the site slowly died after that.
We were talking the other day to bring up the site back, well he wanted to make a new domain and new site. But then I said "but we already gain the name, why start from zero again?" so we put this up on hold for now, until we settle up a bit. If we open the site back, it will definitely need have to be more than 3 people posting news. But well that is how it went, but lets see how it goes in the next months. [/spoilers]

I am so excited right now! NorCal KOF has slowly been gaining some steam but with this it'll make serious strides forward. I can't wait. I'm going to preorder at Gamestop or something so I can get it day 1.

Atlus is a very good company with some awesome titles in their hands lately, like Catherine or Demon Souls.
This could be great news, but I still want to wait for some official announcement. If this is true we shall have some new of it from E3, since Atlus is there.

A leak is different from an announcement.
But yeah, I really wonder what's up in Japan. I assume SNKP is going to publish it, since they still publish all their console games. I'm also (slightly) worried about the lack of 360 version. 360 owners may be in the minority on this site, but it still seems like a terrible idea to ignore that part of the market.

I agree, but I think is super good news. For first time in history, SNKP is watching outside japan and realizing that they have a good fanbase over the seas. After seeing japanese treatment to the game, well, it doesn't surprise me. This for KOF XIII being bottom ranked in Arcadia magazine! LOL

They won't. I'm sure. The game will be released for both consoles, and I could say for PSVita too. Let's just wait a few more hours. When E3 opens its doors we will see it. Atlus said they will have playable version of KOF XIII if they announce it.

Still not official yet, though. They could have synchronysation that goes off at a specific, universal time later on. We simply recieved a LEAK first... during the first official day of the biggest gaming expo in the US. That's not enough to make Japan mad... YET! :)
And Japan... you've had the arcade game for almost a year, so really, if we get console news early, we could call it even! ;)
Oh, and Devil Survivor 2 has been confirmed from the Amazon "leak" now. So... :)50% confirmed! :)

I think that's a silly way to look at it.
KOF XIII has done great in Japan, especially in comparison to previous KOFs. Instead of saying "ranked bottom," you should be saying "consistently ranked in the top 10." Just like other KOFs, it has to contend with the continued popularity of previous titles (2002UM especially) and limited availability (especially with Nesica cabinets appearing to take up more space). The fact that XIII is still making it into the rankings is a testament to how much Japan enjoys it.
You could also argue that Japan deserves first dibs, since their love of Pachinko has kept SNKP afloat for years. :P

But if you ask me, for what what my japanese friends living in japan tell me, KOF neither SNKP have good reputation there. There are still some fans, but not bigger than USA or latinoamerica fanbases. So, I think it's fair give info and news to fans of your own country, but is not fair miss something like E3 for them.

I always loved you ATLUS, I was starting to lose hope but Thank you Based God. Damn I'm gonna buy probably 4 copies, and the netcode already has potential to be much better than what we get now. Gonna bomb their forum with "GGPO or bust" messages regardless though. Wonder if they'll balance it, I'd definitely bring it to their attention if need be.
Guys we need a plan to hype this up, like now bro. Because this game may have to go up against SF X TK at the end of the year and well, yeah it'll be a problem.

I doubt Atlus are going to have much role in localizing it. Like with Ignition, I think they'll be strictly publishers for it.
But they're a great company and happy they're working on it. I joined their mailing list just to say "thanks." And because I want to soak up every last bit of news they release on this.

We want KOF XIII to have that new car smell, ya dig? To put things in a more literal perspective (and yes it's been said but whatever) this game will not sell without a good netcode backing it up. If SNKP hasn't learned they're lesson yet they're doomed to wallow in their pit of suck that they already dug themselves into.

I think any publisher would make sure that the netcode of xiii is decend before signing any contract with snkp

Giby said in a Podcast with Gunsmith that XIII was developed with the console netcode in mind. But he also made the point that you can't just tack on GGPO to any game. The reason it works with so may games is because all those games are being emulated. (Blazblue uses something similar, but not identical.)
Although there's no official date yet, the game's most likely pretty far along. I'm sure SNK remembers the netcode complaints from XII, and I'm sure Atlus wouldn't be able to magically add GGPO to the game if people spam their message boards enough.
I think the only thing we can do is hope for the best re: netcode.
EDIT: The Atlus e-mail specifically mentions "vastly improved network functionality," providing "smoother, more stable online fights." They also mention "over half a dozen game modes to choose from."

We got them to publish the game, ATLUS gets stuff done. As for SNKP they've damn near killed all their chances of serious KOF hype outside of 3rd world countries because of those XBLA ports, even if it were true that they made a more tolerable netcode SNKP is going to have a really hard time convincing the mainstream public that.
