Title: square gate or octagon for fight stick

i feel real comfortable using octagon but now im using a square gate (due to the fact i have a street fighter stick) i may mod it to make it octagon.

witch do yall prefer to use???

Octo for me, especially with SNK games. Feels like if you've had an opportunity to use both, octogonal and square fit for different games. Street Fighter might work better as a square for me because of the number of charge moves/characters, for instance.

Of course it depends on what joystick you are using.

I tried the default square-plate from the TE joystick, and it was hard to make some moves in KOF '02.

Changed it to the octogonal one, and now it's easier to play KOF, but kinda harder for SF charge characters. I finally chose the octogonal gate.

I use a Square gate for Virtua Fighter, Octo gate for KoF/SF/etc.  Octo I find is easier for QCF and HCF type moves.

I used octo for some time, but I learned that all japanese players mash on square (arcade default). And it's really comfortable when you get used to it.
