Ive been maining Raiden for the past couple months.  Raiden is a good character but really hard to use.  He has a very hard to time againt the top tiers especially characters like the Iori's and Kyo's.  There agility makes them difficult to hit and Raiden's large size makes their cross-ups difficult to block.

Raiden's saving grace is that his dmg output is crazy good even with the nerfed dropkicks.  Once he gets close to the corner he can start doing is super dmging dropkick combos.  Also his HOP CD is very good (it's as fast as Takuma's and Hwa Jai's).  His overhead is really fast (faster than Kyo and Kim's I believe) and his cr.C is super good too.

Unfortunately some characters in the cast can punish Raiden hard after blocking tackles (especially King and Hwa Jai).  Most of the cast can punish it when they have meter.

Also people being unfamiliar with Raiden goes a long way rofl.  I wish I had gdlk defense like Kaoru lol

Poison Mist = (qcb+P) - Raiden quickly breaths in and then spits out a green gaseous cloud hitting the opponent in the face. The A version does not knock down. It also comes out and goes away fairly at a rather fast speed, and recovers pretty quickly so keep your guard when the move is done. Combos from strong normals but best used after EX tackle in the corner. The C version has a slightly slower start-up but it, of course, stays out longer and knocks the opponent down on contact. If you do use it from a strong normal you may land a counter hit because your opponent might try to retaliate and hit you thinking you'll recover at a slower speed. Overall this version of the move will end up being your zoning tool of choice, preferably used to keep the opponent at bay when you're charging dropkicks to mow them over with later on. It doesn't combo from much of anything but it's a zoning tool.

NEW:  Raiden spits out a cloud of green gas.  Can cancel out projectiles.  A version comes out fast and can combo from strong normals.  On hit it gives Raiden enough frame advantage to link a hcf+B/D or Super Grab but on block is slightly punishable by fast normals and moves.  C version has slower start-up so it can't combo from strong normals but grants much greater frame advantage on hit and block.  On hit you can link a cr.C into w/e for a combo.  The A version Mist is good to use against fireballs cause of it's fast start up.

The EX version grants a crumple stun on hit and can combo off of strong normals like the A version.  The only that will combo after are either fast normals or A/EX tackle version tackle. Only -2 on block so it's pretty safe.

There is a lot of false information regarding his Poison Mist move.

The C version Poison Mist does not knock down any more but gives a huge amount of frame advantage on hit.  Enough to link a cr.C afterwards.

EX Poison mist only does 1-hit and causes a crumple stun on hit.  The wiki also says that you can link EX Super Raiden Drop after EX Poison Mist which is false.  You cant grab the opponent after EX Poison Mist in general.

The combos to/from section needs to be reworded.  The wording is very confusing.

For the EX dp grab the wiki states that it combos into EX Tackle.  It should says that it can combo FROM EX Tackle.

For the tackle section The dmg on EX Tackle should be 70+95 instead of 70+100

Any mention of being able to do a SDK after a GCCD should be either removed or contain a notification stating that it only works in arcade version and not console version.

The start-up and recovery for Raiden's NeoMax is pretty bad.

Also the combo section needs updating.

Well yea SDM but thats 2 bars.  Im looking something meterless.  Also blocking it puts her at advantage.  A situation you don't wanna be in.

After thinking about diff strats I have an idea.  Just gotta try it out tomorrow.

Ok so i'm having anti-Leona issues.  Its the fucking Baltic Launcher.  I feel like I can't do anything once this move comes out.  I play Ex Kyo, Ex Iori and Mr. Karate.  I know you can sweep the C version and jump the A version at a specific angle.  This move is giving me fits lol.  I feel like it shuts down EX Kyo and EX Iori.  HELP lol

found somthing funny

Ex Zanretsuken   ;fd ;fd  ;dn+ ;c jump cancel to other side..air  ;d
somtims the j. ;d will cross up (i think depend in the jump )

I do something like that but off of DP+C Break.  You do a run up B SJ then do a j.D.  Depending on your timing you can land in front or cross-up the opponent.

Good to see people remembering that FFA exists lol.

Midscreen was never a problem.  Doing it in the corner is odd cause you gotta do the TK hcf+B like 412367+B instead of the normal 412369+B.  I know there is no point in learning that cause qcf+A is easier and does the same dmg but I just wanted to find out just cause lol.

I found 2 staple and reliable HD combos starting from a jump-in or a low by spending 2 meters... This works from full screen...

j.D, s.C, f+B, HD, s.C, f+B, [qcf+A, DC, dp+C~A+B, TK hcf+B] x4, Neomax = 854 dmg

cr.B, s.B, f+A *3 hits*, HD, s.C, f+B, [qcf+A, DC, dp+C~A+B, TK hcf+B] x4, Neomax = 739 dmg

If you are in the corner then you can just replace the TK hcf+B with qcf+A for the same damage and make the combo easier to do...

For a 1 meter HD combo He still gets amazing damage...

j.D, s.C, f+B, HD, s.C, [qcf+A, DC, dp+C~A+B, TK hcf+B] x5, qcf~hcb+A = 803 dmg

cr.B, s.B, f+A *3 hits*, HD, s.C, [qcf+A, DC, dp+C~A+B, TK hcf+B] x5, qcf~hcb+A = 687 dmg

by "found" you mean looked up Challenge #8 lol

I've been messing around with enders for that HD combo.

For 2 bars after the final dp+C Break you do qcf+C ff into fbf+P into lvl 2 Ranbu for 881 dmg.

So the combos will look like this:

2 bars
j.;d s.;c ;fd ;b, HD, s. ;c  [ ;dn ;df ;fd ;a DC  ;fd ;dn ;df ;c~ ;a+ ;b, TK  ;bk ;db ;dn ;df ;fd ;b]x4  ;dn ;df ;fd  ;a DC,  ;fd ;dn ;df ;c~ ;a+ ;b;dn ;df ;fd ;c;fd ;fd;fd ;bk ;fd ;a;dn ;df ;fd ;df ;dn ;db ;bk ;a+ ;c = 881 dmg

To add on to what Mastaroth was saying about using qcf+A instead of TK hcf+B is that you MUST use qcf+A when you are comboing an opponent from behind in the corner.  This is because the TK hcf+B will cross under them and wiff.

Goro's NEOMAX should be OHKO
EX Roll should go full screen
EX Grab Super should have extra range, at least half screen

So this is probably a retarded question, and I recognize the fact, however.
When I want to activate Sans-Culotte with  ;a ;b ;c ;d I get HD, every single time and I occasionally get Sans-Culotte while i'm in HD mode, which isn't really doing me any good. Any solution?

You're probably just inputting it too fast.

I don't understand that midscreen combo.  The video says that if the opponent is gunna cross you up then do Nivose lower.  I do that and they still manage to cross me up.  I try to do it as late as possible and they still cross me up, but, sometimes they don't.  I don't fucking get it.

Ok so Hwa A Back Breacker probably is only 1f after the flash cause you can't punish Duo's Rekka -> Weak teleport with it.  It probably has some start-up.
