When it comes to names I have two of em:
Male: Belegorm
Female: Lisotte

I created my Lisotte in XI because I wanted to play PUP; dudes in tights look rather creepy xD

Yeah there's so much that got beefed in FFXI. Campaign is definitely one of them. I fought like 3 things, died twice, and reported in and got 8100 exp, then went back in the same campaign battle, and ended that with about 6000 exp doing slightly less. Drops do get better also with campaign. I'm not stuck getting ladybug wings, and slug eyes.

As far as GW goes, there's still some things I need to finish. PvP is too much fun though, especially with D/R and Derv got a ton of buffs recently. I need a new guild I will say that. The one I'm in doesn't do much, and people just simply leave.

Can you still level a new job in a couple of days in aby?  Kind of pissed me off, I'd gone halfway through the levels the old-fashioned way (actually I think I'd hit lvl 60, now that I think of it), then got sucked into aby and was suddenly at 90.  Then had no clue what the hell I wanted to actually do then.

That and even with the changes the game being a huge time sink around finals led to me dropping out of it.  Still have left it installed this time though, just need to resub and update and bam I'm back in FFXI :)  Though I think I need to level up in KOF XIII and MBAA first, I've got a good amount of time to get grinding combos now :)

I'm currently playing FFXI on Sylph server. I've been going back and forth on jobs, so the highest I've got is 72DNC. I like PUP, so I took that to about 58ish. COR is fun, too.

I also play GuildWars, and am definitely waiting for GW2 to drop. Right now I've been pvping with my D/R, and that's been working out. Got a R/W also.

Wow, that's an odd coincidence.  Last winter I really got back into FFXI for the first time in years, finally (thanks to a certain place that starts with the letter A) got my char the last 40 levels or so to 90.  PUP through and through, subbing WAR and DNC :)

However, once I was at 90 it seemed like I was going to be grinding for months for the endgame gear, using the same knuckles as 99% of the other PUPs and MNKs, and wearing the same certain pink armor as just about 90% of the people you see at lvl 90 (you know the kind I'm talking about... the absurdedly cheap armor and weapons you get there that you get to use forever till you get the final stuff which actually makes you look somewhat different from the pack).

Note that this was based off of up till maybe April... no clue what's happened since then or if they've raised the level cap.  If my internet back at school sucks for KOF XIII I might get back into it.

Also I used to play some GW a while back too, played the odd combination of W/R, in PvE mode (this weird beastmaster build that somehow worked).  Never did much PvP ironically, but finished prophecies, factions, eotn and nearly nightfall.  Got far enough to have unlocked a good bit of stuff for GW2, which I'm really looking forward to (need to go back and get more trophies, need 1 more of a new kind to unlock that flame sword for GW2).

Realistically speaking GW2's probably the closest thing to an MMO I should go into at this point, never have time and always have a crappy connection.

kof 05 is probably one of if not the best old school fighter around and best old school kof out there (only 94 is oldschool with 95, but 94 < 95 by a large fucking mile).

i get your point though, but there are some good old style games (ss2, ffs, ssf2t etc).

Yes I do agree old games were good... but at that point they were still ripping off sf2 instead of trying to do something different, and more importantly, kof 95 doesn't actually play like... kof.

kyo is back to his powerfull 95 self, he doesnt need reckas like some weak ass punk kid. if shingo ever return id rather he incorperate them in his gameplan, along with those critical attacks (man i loved 97 back in the days, same for 95).

There will be no blasphemy in THESE forums!

I reaaaalllyy miss his rekkas... first hit was always such a nice poke and they did nice damage.  Also miss r.e.d. kick, such nice stun and usually came out of nowhere.  The games that had the air version (ngbc) would confuse the crap out of people, jumping back then hitting them with it phoenix arrow style.

What I wish they would have done is just stuck with XI Kyo, if I remember correctly he had both his rekkas and fireball.

Just wondering...

Why the hell are they still releasing SNK's earliest, most mediocre (at best) fighters?  What better way to drum up support for KOF XIII than by putting out 98 and 02 on PSN?  They're also neo geo games, same hardware so it feels like they're arbitrarily starting at the beginning and taking years to go to the end.  Nice and all that kof 95 is on psn with decent netcode, but that would be the only reason I'd ever play 95 in a million years and probably no one here would either.

Belegorm: Vice and Mature were considered "missing", but they've held true to their "We'll meet again under the full moon..." stance. Even Terry is suprised in his XII win quote to Mature: "NO WAY! You actually survived that?!?" There's a play at them being ghost in XIII's color palettes for each (they're transparent), but at this point, they seem to be extra-special servants of Orochi, whom seem to be the first on-call line of defense / investigation for him, when things go haywire. They also seem to have an odd bond with Iori, neither really being THAT mad about what he did to them.

As for new characters in XII and XIII, not exactly. Hwa and Raiden were new to KoF, but most of what's been considered "New" in these past 2 games, has been the re-freshing of the characters in the game. Characters like Chin, Kensou, Iori, and Ash have almost been re-created for XIII. SNKP is in a spot where they want to bring old favorites back, moreso than introduce new characters, as they already can't even properly serve all the characters that even XI introduced, such as Malin, Momoko, and Oswald.

Cool, clears some stuff up.  Kind of would like to see Malin back, disliked the look but her moves were really satisfying to kill with.

BTW for anyone that's played the console version, how's the button config?  3soe and skullgirls got a round of applause for their easy button configs, but even w/out going that far at lot of games (no recent Capcom games for some reason) have had decent ones.

Was the EVO KOFXIII panel recorded?  Was it interesting enough to merit a recording or was it stuff most people on dc.com already know?

I'll be around Saturday most likely; my only ps2 stick is a ghetto mayflash, and I've barely played Garou but... dying horribly in Garou probably isn't as horrible as dying horribly in other games :)

I've got a friend who's reaaaalllyyy colour-blind... if I ever get him to play this game I should make a mirror team of his and make them all red and green (his worst colours) xD

When I look at those silhouettes, all I can see are Hinako and May Lee... I really wonder who they actually are.

When I see those silhouettes, all I can see are Lucky Glauber and Brian Battler... you know it's them!  Really!

OT: I'm really not up on my KOF lore (especially past 97 it gets foggy) but can someone who is tell me why Vice and Mature are in the game?  Weren't they killed in a well-known scene early on?  I know they brought em back for 98 and 02 but those were dream matches...

Also did XII and XIII introduce any brand-new characters or were they all old ones?  The other ones up to that point kept on killing some and adding more (which was obviously much more possible on neogeo hardware).

Kinda OT but... you know how there was a price drop for the PS3 a couple of days back? Well, shortly after the drop, Best Buy changed the price on their site and made an error, they dropped the price $100 instead of $50. Guess who grabbed one during that short window of fortune?

You PSN gals better watch out.

Back OT, I understand they want to give incentive for people to buy the EX characters but I really hope they go back and rebalance them once they have had enough sales.

Only balance and netcode stand in the way of "best fighting of all time" for me with this game.

There's no way in hell they'll leave the ex chars broken.

I really hope the ps3 version does well; one reason I chose it over the 360 was because it's the tournament standard for FG's, if this version was worse than the other I'd just be sad.

Anyone know if University Pinball in Philly has it?  I doubt it but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask (especially because I can't actually visit that place for a while).

If (based on what I remember from last time) they still have that BBCT machine they need to get that out and KOFXIII in, with console release upcoming it'd be pretty big.  Also if they got an MBAA machine back in (I think they had one at one point) it would probably get played seeing as the PC version's coming out.

Then again, neither games are SF4 or Marvel so who knows xD

Which changes had yuri?

I'll let you the surprise, when the stream is end and record i'll give you the link. Just OMG, she's going to be top tier.

Yay!

Can I assume there will be more characters not usually in the spotlight that will get some info?  Remarkably small info on what Athena's changes are and she probably does need some buffs to be competitive.
