I found this video and haven't seen it really discussed. Not mine since I'm very scrubby and stuff.

I've had some success with the "safe jump" set-up in the video (hcf+A/C j. fj.D)

but has anyone else tried this?

I had to accompany my sister to a job interview in that area because she felt unsafe there...but anyways, any idea when the FFA stuff will start?

The color numbers system is flawed, because everyone unlocks different colors depending on the characters they pick.
Try using the method and you'll see what I mean.

i have a lot of problems beating this psycho bitch!
i encountered a really good athena player some days ago on psn.. his team was athena,chin and vice. Chin was kinda of tricky but i managed to beat him, Vice too,but the bitch... my god. She was his first char.. he easily beat 2 of my mains (billy and ralf) w/out problems. Then when i need to use my last char i got lucky (not always).
The problems are the psycho balls. With billy and ralf dunno how to beat her.. if she throw me at the corner I am fucked.. any suggestion?
I usually start with Billy, then Ralf, and Clark (or viceversa)

I don't play with your characters, but as an Athena player, being cornered isn't a good thing for her.

You can try rolling through her psycho ball attack and try to bait her punishable psycho sword. Athena can be good upclose, but she needs to have room to fall back on her zoning game.

I have a lot of problems fighting players who play mindgames better than Athena. Clark's B grab is really good since it has the godlike protection it now has, and it can be used against Athenas in the corner.

FYI this is a great tournament, I should probably explain it a bit.

I'm a big part of the So Cal MK9 community, and after WNF left the Proud Bird our numbers REALLY started dwindling.  Luckily some of us found EGP's tournaments which are run extremely well (lots of Asus setups, organized bracket, etc.)  Over time we started working together with EGP and because of their tournaments the So Cal MK9 scene was actually revived, and we started bringing in 30ish people per tournament.

I seriously can't emphasize how great these tournaments are, and I hope the So Cal KOF scene will at least give them a try.  I promise you'll want to come back!

EDIT:  Also they're running the BYOC setup at SCR so check them out there first.

I'm not gonna lie, I've only been to one EGP tourney and it was for MK. Really fun. I hope you KOF players give at least us "MK kats" as Chef puts it, a chance!

NOTES
-Without a jump in attack the combo does 999 damage.
-Doing her normal Etincelles (qcf+a/c)after either her EX Etincelles or Coup de Veine (dp+a/c) too early will only hit the opponent once, not allowing another Etincelles to be used.
-To correctly cancel from her "A" Coup de Veine into her "C" Etincelles, you have to perform Coup de Veine right before the opponent lands.
-MAX CANCEL her EX Noble Blanc (qcf X2+AC) in it's early frames, otherwise it will not do as much damage. (about 900 compared to 1025).

Yeah, I wouldn't make a habit of that.  Online you can get away with it since it's harder to block on reaction and punish, but against anyone competent or offline (or a combination of the two), you'll just be sending Kensou to an early grave.

Yeah thats true, abusing any move isn't a good idea. Unless its broken, or the game is broken haha. Thats a bad habit of mine, when I pick up characters I tend to use one move I like too much.

Also, Kensou's throw is only able to follow up his throw in the corner right?

The dash is automatic.

Its probably how you are activating it I guess. I play on a pad so I don't know if its specific to you but when you time the activation differently sometimes attacks come out.

My best bet is to let the dash happen since it will be easier to confirm into another st. c
