K', Kula, Kyo

Here are some general tips:

- You will see them mash cr.B a lot with Ash, get used to this. Find moves in your characters' arsenals that beat these (like Kyo's sD etc).

- He can't do much damage without meter. So most of the time they will be damaging you in small chunks.

- Kula is a great counter against him because of her reflector and her df+B slide. Her slide goes right under his fireballs and hits him clean. So she nullifies his fireball game, what he's all about, to a big extent.

- If they are just sitting there and mashing lows they are just waiting for you to jump so they can flash kick you. Watch if they stand up at any point to walk or whatever, because if they do they have lost their charge and you have a chance to get some pressure in.

- Be patient don't rush in unnecessarily, you'll often just run into a lot of fireballs if you try to get in too hard. Block.

- His stationary flame move does not hit instantly, there is an activation time, so fast moves can pass through it without getting hit.

Don't know if these are of any use but they help me get by. I think Ash is a character that requires strong fundamentals to be very effective, basic annoying tactics will only take you so far. This is why I think there are so few Ash players online now compared to when the game was first released.

Check out some of the latest Mad Kof match vids in the general section, he plays a long session against a very solid Ash player.

thank you!, i'll keep that in mind

I've noticed that against really defensive characters like Ash sometimes i am forced to play lame.

Quick question, is it not possible to do an immediate roll on wake-up?
I've had a few situations where the opponent would do a meaty and I'd try to roll as soon as i get up but nothing comes out and I eat the meaty, just wanna know if the game just doesnt let u roll for a few frames when u get up or was it just me messing up the timing/input.

You probably did, but they timed it so that they'd do it on the first frame of your wake-up. We're also not aware if rolling has start-up frames and if you're invincible through those frames as well.

That being said, is it possible to backdash right as you are waking up to escape meaties?
or does backdash not have any invincibility?

Not sure if it's the right place to post this.

I have a really hard time getting in on Ash. Fireballs keep me away and his flash kicks completely shutdown my offense.

Any specific setups or tips i could get?

The way you fight Saiki is if your score is above 2000000 right after the 3rd match.
The reason it seems like you have to do target actions is because they greatly affect your score.

Is this the confirmed condition, if it is, I will update it.

I've played thru Arcade mode around 8 times already
2 of the times i did as many target actions as i could. Without losing my first character.
In this 3 cases my score ended up just above 2000000.
In KOF 2002 the rival you fight before the "final" depended on the score, so i'm sure this has to be the condition.

Playing on PSN

trying ranked matches, i honestly cannot find anything above 2 bars. game drops most of the time.
Then played with my friend that lives a few miles away, that one worked pretty well.

I honestly expected more, all this talk about the netcode being overhauled and stuff...

Looks like i'll stick to offline for now.

From what you say I guess you're not fast enough, try to explain more precisely your problem, I can't help you with so few informations.

Is there a visual cue, or something that tells me when i should do the second qcb+b so a narrow spike will come out instead of a minute spike?

Ah, cool stuff.  I'm actually thinking about learning Dizzy.  Played Testament years ago (like, GGX and XX *laughs* ), but I just can't seem to get a good feel for him now...Dizzy seems similar enough to be worth a try after a failed attempt at learning Jam.

Hahaha yeah, Dizzy's normals are awkward but her combos HURT.
that's why i <3 her~.

Jut out of curiosity, what was your first avatar? I didn't see it.

It was Siren's avatar. The one with the Ash cosplayer. lol

I am sorry if this was addressed earlier.
I'm having trouble doing the narrow spike, dp+a [DC] narrow spike. repetitions
I can't seem to be able to pull off a narrow spike constantly, even when i'm not doing a combo.

Any tips?

I don't know where people came with that thing

You can't play an update offline if you are not using the original profile where you downloaded the game, after that, it becames part of the console

The other condition is if you use the hard drive on other console

I forgot about that fact, I am sorry.

It's because all of my friends and I don't use the xbox we originally had, we pretty much had to recover our gamertags in new xboxes since they broke down. So yeah, we need to be online in order to use some updates... for Blazblue at least this is true.
With AE it actually works for some reason.
