To any new people who aren't a member of the FB group already: http://www.facebook.com/groups/216078878467845/ it's a lot more active in the info I or others post, but I encourage more people to come here so it's easier to find info and such.

Oh, also now that the Fall Semester is over, they'll be working on finishing up the guide, if you haven't noticed already, some pages have had info deleted, and some pages have a load of new information such as frame data and other things. Give it awhile, and the guide should be done within a month. If you have any questions just let me know and I'll hit them up for an answer, or try to answer it myself.

"Advanced Strategy
Perform some grimmicks on a Hit Box."

Please tell me if this is some inside joke I am missing or if there is actually super hidden HitBox tech that I must know of.

I explained it on the stream two weeks ago: basically way back when the terribad Rizon channel #/v/fightan was still around, there was a guy named Mr. Karate who would play on keyboard religiously; if you played any next gen game with him, he'd complain that he didn't suck, and that he would beat you no problem if he just had a keyboard. Consciously or not, he would often do very scrubby things when pressured in most games with other players, or do really dumb gimmicks much to the dismay of Laban and Sparkster. They got miffed, and started talking shit; eventually someone in the IRC channel likened him to Squidward from Spongebob for some reason or another and it stuck. Mr. Karate at the time was lying to everyone about his real self and how he was successful, had a wife, and that his name was John Grimm (this is important); this further increased the slew of "squidward" remarks among the channel and people began to make up other monikers using his "given" name.

"John Grimmicks" was what came out of that, and it stuck with him; Mr. Karate created e-suicide sometime in late 2009 or early 2010. He took up his moniker John Grimm later, and people found his real name to be Eli Jackson. He would regularly talk with FoxhoundArcade who made sticks about the possibility of a keyboard stick, and somehow got close with the people who started up the Hitbox project in that time. You might've seen his shit featured on SRK multiple times, or official Hitbox videos with him demonstrating various things; they're the same person.

Being that Laban/Sparkster/Feez/Walkman (guys who wrote the SRK KOFXIII wiki are from that channel, they decided to pay homage to that in Takuma/Mr. Karate's page since they regularly make up new jokes regarding him (best one this year was "The Legend of Zelda: Squidward's Sword"). He's a pretty cool dude despite all of that, and I'm friends with him, but you still might catch me at EVO doing the "Let's go Squidward" chant along with everyone else. I'm very happy for his success. That's pretty much all the backstory.

I think we should post our PSN/Live tags to get in sets in between meetups, to help out those who can't make it out every week/at all.
