Training Room / Basic Combos - I could use them
December 27, 2010, 10:55:14 AM
Apparently my first step should be to learn the jumps and combos. While the only KOF I own now is XI, I fear it won't exactly be enough to learn, say, 2002 or 98.

However, if I stick with KOF regulars (I've noticed that Terry, Athena, and Ralf, for example, all appear in every KOF), then I think I can build a somewhat decent team that I can use for competitive KOF.

With that being said, I would like to know a few beginner combos to practice. The only games apparent on the DC Wiki are KOF2002UM, KOF2002, KOF98UM, and KOFXIII. While 2002's wiki might help, my ROM lacks a silent CPU function, so I cannot learn combos with a raging bull of a CPU interrupting me. As for the others, I don't have a means to access them (XIII especially, from the looks of it).

So could you give me a few combos for reoccuring KOF chars to practice with? I'd appreciate it!

Okay, thanks for letting me know! I'd love to play someone on KOF98, as it is the first fighting game I've ever touched, and I really enjoy it.

Can you tell me more about ArcLive or whatever that is? It sounds interesting.

Meet & Greet / Fighting Game Newbie; Nice to meet you!
December 14, 2010, 11:08:59 PM
Hello! I'm glad to meet you guys! I'm a newbie to fighting games, due to my heavy lack of any real experience with them.

I was kinda scared to come onto these boards, as I thought I'd get shoo-ed off by my heavy lack of any experience with fighting games.

I was recommended by someone named Desmond Delaghetto, who was my first KOF opponent ever. I just simply spammed buttons, and he ended up guiding me, but not enough to improve.

But regardless, I simply lack fundamentals, and would love to develop them.

Once again, thanks for having me.
