Cafeid MadKOF has confirmed after weeks of planning and negotiations with the wonderful guys at Cafeid!

TheAnswer is working with us very closely to make sure it's an incredible KOF experience for its fans all along the world.

We're working on a Spanish stream as well -- Dark Geese tells us Luis Cha will be present too. Hoping for updates from Atlus in the next couple weeks about partnering with them.

Please follow @gdlkEnt @theanswerKOF and the KOF13 Tournament Players facebook group for more updates!

Speaking of KOF Team Tournaments, have any large events tried KOF team tournaments? Whether traditional (3 players per team, SBO-style) or Each team is 3 people each playing 1 character?

It sounds like a lot of fun but a nightmare to run in terms of time or logistics.

We traveled to SCR and witnessed the hype of NorCal vs. SoCal, and soon after were hooked on KOF13. EVO 2012 -- with IGL Bala and Cafeid MadKOF -- gave us one of the most exciting EVO Grand Finals of all time, and interest in KOF is at a universal all-time high.

As huge fans of the game, we at Goldike Entertainment are focusing our efforts on the KOF community big-time for Season's Beatings: Ascension. We look forward to bringing you details on our crazy plans soon that all KOF fans will love. We are working closely with TheAnswer and in talks with Atlus to put on a show that proves KOF is here to stay at major FGC events!

IT HAS BEGUN: A new chapter opens in FGC history as we rise from the ashes of our beginnings and ascend to stratospheric heights, with a new venue and more epic events.

Despite the upgrades, we remain rooted in what we’ve always valued: a tournament. It's a kumite starring everyone, from traveled world warriors to local living room champions, all traveling to Ohio to witness and be a part of history and to show their competitor’s heart.

SB will never be about carnival gimmicks, pats on the back or photo opportunities for ourselves. Since 2006, we’ve simply strived to bring you the one of the world’s best arenas to square off against friends and rivals alike, alongside godlike special events and an unmatched atmosphere. And as long as you enjoy it, we’ll keep doing it. Now, prepare to FIGHT!

Pre-Registeration is LIVE at godlike-entertainment.com ! Registering on-site on tournament weekend means NO free shirt and HIGHER venue fee, so please pre-reg! We're saving you $$ and rewarding you for it!

With Season’s Beatings through the years, we watched uncountable legendary moments transpire at our famous venue, Momo2. From our Undisputed Heavyweight Marvel vs. Capcom 2 showdowns, to the Daigo-in-Ohio invasions of 2009 and 2010, to last year’s creative and unprecedented Good vs. Evil Phoenix 5v5 at SB:Velocity, we (so many SB participants) have built a lifetime’s worth of memories at that beloved, unique venue.

Unfortunately, as of 2012, Godlike Entertainment must look to the future as Momo2 announced its closing as of August. Momo2 gave us an amazing six years; it was synonymous with our event.

But the heart of SB is YOU, the players who travel from around the world to experience the riotous, uberhype SB atmosphere, and the way we run our event will not change. We’ll miss our old home, but we look forward to bringing you the SB experience with upgraded surroundings:

*8,500 sq. feet of space

*In-venue food and adult beverage lounge, open until 2 a.m.

*Across the street from some of a major U.S. city’s most famous and hottest hangouts, offering award-winning sandwiches and hundreds of beers, even with on-request shuttle service to drive you back to your hotel.

*Indoor pool, sauna

How much?

For competitors: $35 +additional cost per game, pre-registration/pre-payment only

FREE SEASON’S BEATINGS T-SHIRT AND SBa DOGTAG for pre-registering as a competitor! Why? Because SB is and will always be a tournament, featuring the world’s best and hungriest talent, and we want to and reward everyone for supporting us and the FGC, from Justin Wong to Johnny Donuts.

For spectators: $20 enables to watch tournament matches and play casuals. The shirt will not be available for purchase; man up, play your favorite game(s), be a part of SB history!

We would love to host media!

Many, many more details to come, regarding media, production, online content, and top guests in all games. We look forward to directly engaging YOU, the players spending hard-earned money to come to our event!

For now, post up or contact Chris or Harmon through email (askgodlike@gmail.com), PM, Facebook page, or Twitter (@gdlkEnt) with questions/feedback/advice. SRK PM is NOT the most efficient way to get ahold of us because of how quickly our inboxes fill!

Thank you for supporting Season's Beatings year after year and keeping it one of the world's largest -- and still grassroots -- Fighting-Game Community events.

Also, anime cons and the like aren't my thing, but bringing KOF to different venues like that is a good idea. If you go to cons or casual game nights in your area, KOF looks and sounds beautiful and IMO is pretty attractive even to the 3-D generation. You might be able to get casual players into the game on a basic level by teaching them some basic and cool stuff.

Hi guys, we aren't well known in KOF but my name is Chris Hatala, and my co-director, Harmon Tam, and I run Season's Beatings. Long story short, KOF got us back into actually competing at fighters (I play 3s, MvC2 and ST at high level but do not actually enjoy SF4/MvC3) and not just running a large tournament, so we really respect the game and are trying to do what we can to make it sucessful.

Also lol I'm posting the DC thread soon -- I'd like to have a couple key KOF announcements confirmed before we do but I will post it in the next few days.

Bala and MadKOF's grand finals really were a gift to the scene. They were the talk of EVO to attendants AND stream watchers, and it proved that not only is KOF a great game, it's a fantastic, fast-paced spectator sport as well.

I think KOF has a great chance to be a solid tournament game across the country for years (hopefully until KOF14 comes out and KOF blows up even bigger!), and I saw this thread on twitter and wanted to hopefully help with some thoughts and advice.

Positive reinforcement IS the main key IMO, great point. This starts at the top. Communities have been ruined because its top players/leaders were jerks -- elitist, unreliable, unfriendly, unsharing, and shit-talk crossing the line to childish feuds and total disrespect.

KOF seems to have a great community and strong leadership. If you're a leader on DC, in your local community, or a running KOF at majors, your behavior sets an example to your own players and also players from other game communities. Stay positive, support your game, encourage new players, and please don't shittalk other games. I really am impressed with the community and hope to count us apart of it after what we're trying to pull off at SB. I've seen a number of good games fall out of favor since 2004 when I started traveling to majors, and these were the main factors.

You guys seem to be doing that and as long as people love the game, it will continue to get supported at majors, which sustains the community. Keep going the extra mile to rep your game and travel for it! Trust me that major TOs will run whatever gets bodies to his event. So keep traveling and encouraging players of all skill levels to compete in person!

And yeah, keep streaming it and bug your local or major events to give it strong support on the main stream. Organize long sets or even MMs if you're down with that so people can watch and get hype and see strong players going at it.

http://shoryuken.com/2012/05/06/road-to-evo-2012-seasons-beatings-summer-slam-live-stream-and-coverage-hub/

Hey everyone, my name is Chris Hatala (Ghaleon), and I direct Season's Beatings each year with my co-director Harmon Tam (nomrah).

Apologies for not posting a thread on DC. We are brand new to the KOF scene as of 13 and ended up promoting SB:Summer Slam pretty late in the game.

If you aren't familiar with us, since 2006 we've run SB at a spacious Bubble Tea hangout in Ohio, and our event is built on bringing out the U.S's and world's top talent to put on a show for the FGC.

We just got into KOF hardcore with 13 and as an OG player who organizes a large tournament but doesn't play SF4 or MvC3, we are really into KOF as players and had very good comp at Summer Slam, our mid-year event.

We were at SCR last year and got to see some of the SCR/NCR event live (even though I didn't understand the game much then), and at our fall SB in Sept. or Oct. we always put together big-time special exhibitions, like Season's Beatings: Velocity - Exhibition Matches TrailerU.S. vs. The World (SF4)/East Coast vs. West Coast (MvC3)/"Good vs. Evil" (MvC3 Phoenix teams vs. Non-Phoenix teams).

So yeah, just letting you guys know that we really love playing and watching this game at high level and will try to cater to KOF as best we can in out in Ohio, especially by trying to make something big happen with top KOF names in the fall.

Will post the stream matches later when we can: we ended up being able to stream the tournament from start to finish, ComboFiend, BananaKen, Dandy J and more put on a great show.

We look forward to posting the fall SB on Dream Cancela and working with The Answer to figure out something really nice for the fall.
