Duo Lon / Re: Duo Lon (Console)

Just a really funny thing that's completely impractical. If you're trolling hard do a point blank qcb+AC. If it hits you can get 3 cl.C into a rekka. I didn't think to try cl.D.

I ran into the same guy today, did the one you play run EX Iori? It wasn't fun cause we had a bad connection so I really couldn't get going.

Speaking of Yuri, here's a really easy way to do her dp+A (HDC) dp+D, after you do the dp+A, immediately press and hold D and it'll HDC easily.
#4
You're right, it isn't plinking in the SF4 sense but it uses the exact same motion that takes advantage of how this system reads button inputs. For example my run grab trick won't work in 2k2 and the only reason the HDC input works is because of leniency in the system. I figured plinking would be the easiest way to explain it.

Not shortcuts but I'll post these here.

If you have trouble with doing cr.B cr.B (HD), what you can do is instead of pressing B+C together, "plink" C then B. it'll activate and then a C will come out. Be ready to cancel into whatever command normal or special is next though.

For run grabs, you can "plink" the C or D with back/forward.

The easiest way in my opinion to do a dp (DC) qcf, is to make sure you hold the "d/f" or the "3" for a split second and ride the gate while you do the qcf or 236. This lets you feel if it's going to work or not.

Whoever said plinking in KOF 13?! It doesn't have the same usage as USF4 but it definitely has applications in KOF 13 .

Command grabs that will punish Duo Lon after rekka rekka rekka B teleport:

Beni   hcb~f+AC
Clark   hcf+D, hcbx2+P, hcbx2+AC
Daimon   hcb~f+P, hcb~f+AC
Raiden   hcf+K, hcf+BD, hcbx2+P, hcbx2+AC
Vice   hcb~f+P, hcb~f+AC, hcbx2+K, hcbx2+BD

Command grabs that will punish Duo Lon after rekka rekka rekka D teleport:

Ash   hcbx2+BD
Athena   hcf+AC
Beni   hcb~f+P
Duo   hcbx2+AC
Hwa   qcf~hcb+A
Kensou   qcf~hcb+P
Kyo   hcb+BD
Maxima   hcb+B
Saiki   hcbx2+P
shen   hcb~f+AC
Yuri   hcb+B

Command grabs that will not punish rekka rekka rekka teleport.

Athena   hcf+P
Daimon   dp+K, dp+BD
Iori   hcf+P, hcf+AC
Liz   hcb~f+P, hcb~f+AC
Robert   hcf+K, hcf+BD
Saiki   hcbx2+AC
Shen   hcb~f+P
Takuma   hcb+K, hcb+BD

D teleport has more start up so things in the B teleport category will work on D teleports as well.

Liz's command grab is not fast enough to punish Terry's crack shoot even if you stand block it. Your best bet is to learn how to consistently throw it or just block and find a chance to GCAB or GCCD it.

Does anybody know how to punish kyo's double kick pressure he uses, for some reason i can't punish it with anything.

it is made so that the only way you can really punish it is with spending a meter on blowback, or if your character has a really fast command grab. it is a generally safe move to most of the cast.

No it was not made so the only way you can punish is with a blowback. If you have a halfway decent dp you can dp between the two kicks. If you block both kicks every character can land a normal throw.

Dude, what are you talking about? You can perform Andy's shoulder check by inputting HCF+P OR charging it. I believe it's a new addition to console KOF. I was just doing his HD corner loop using HCF B~BD, HCF+Ax2, etc.

What are you talking about? Just because you get the move by inputting hcf+P instead of the actual input does not mean Andy has a hcf+P move. d/b~f+P is not a charge move either.

Oh okay yeah. It's all about going as fast as you can and making sure it's clean. The hcf+B for me comes out before I even see the d/b~f+A hit.

Hey guys I'm having trouble canceling db/f; b   Into hcf;a.    I keep getting a super cancel.   It's strange cuz I dont have that problem in the arcade just the console version. Anyone else have that problem?

I think it's weirder that you didn't have that problem in arcade seeing how Andy doesn't have a hcf+A move.

How can I do the walking forward  ;bk~ ;fd  ;a/ ;c in combos? I'm not sure how it needs to be performed properly for corner combos.

You just do b~f+C but you delay the C press until after your character takes a small step forward.

Quote from: Tryken on November 27, 2011, 10:36:14 PM
I've been playing Ash as an insanely lame Guile-esque type zoner. Is this a competent way to play him? I've been using him at point, focusing on zoning with his shots. If the opponent does get in, I can hit-confirm his flash kick with cr.lks.

Thoughts on this strategy? It's worked so far on my local friends who also play. They hate me for it, but it works great.

That's an alright way to play him. Generally when I play Ash I push them into the corner whether it be from running up after knockdowns or Sans Culottes carries. After that you can rush them down with hop CD, D, C, whatever you want and hit confirm into big combos. Generally before I get them to the corner I try to play a slow zoning game but don't forget that Ash has a decent rushdown game. He can charge fireballs so quickly that almost any normal you press can be cancelled into a fireball.

One of my friends says that his guy has the EX characters and stages, but that it doesn't let you run a standard character and the EX version on the same team. So like....no Takuma/Ryo/Mr. Karate or Kyo/Goro/NESTS Kyo, etc.

Is this true? Can anyone confirm it?

It's true just like every other KOF game.
