General Discussion / Re: After the Dust Settles: KoF XIII

I agree with a lot of the points you made but the biggest point I agree with is the update. I really don't see them doing much along the lines of tweaking the characters but I do think we need more characters. Historically King of Fighters would bring out a new game every year but that has of course changed due to the companies complications and overall change to the games new makeover.

I definitely think if they can ever get their next game off the ground and make sure they get the net code straight that more people will take up the banner for KOF.  I believe the biggest thing that Capcom fighting games have going for it is that they do update the game constantly. It keeps it fresh and encourages people to come back and find out what changes they've made.

Robert Garcia / Re: Robert Garcia (Console)

So I've been wondering, is there a consensus as to the learning difficulty of Robert. I know he has been considered a top tier character but not many people play with him.  I'm not giving up on him I definitely want to learn him but the biggest thing that frustrates me about him is a lot of his drive cancels. The two that seem to create the biggest damage are his dp+p into fwd,bk,fwd+k(the ony shortcut seems to be dp+p, into bk,fwd but can't be sure)  and his dp+HP into his QCB+K.

He seems to have a great jump D and his close HP is very fast....so fast that a lot of times I fail to take advantage of it a lot of time during the match not realizing it hit-confirmed.  I haven't had enough time to learn how to punish with robert but I know he is an incredible character. I usually choose him to anchor the team.

Results / Re: DC KOF XIII Online Tournament (5-19-2012) Results

Wow... that many points? Sweet!

Btw, since we notice most of us can fight each other, even if we are damn far, we should try to do an actual bracket tournament.

Maybe do the bracket and then tell the people to test their connection, if they are playable then just keep them like that, if not, make small modifications to the bracket and presto.

Anyways, it was great to fight everyone online on this DC Learning Tournament as I like to call it. lol

And thanks to SolidShark for organizing this tournament, great stuff, but also sorry for keeping you distracted while you were getting the scores and trying to organize the event. =P

I think if you start running brackets then you end up with people not being able to make it to the tournament. Part of the reason I like this format is that people can show up at any time during the time allotted and still get some matches. True the person who gets there on time has a better chance of having more matches but at least more people get a chance to play. On top of that it still kind of goes back to the format that was being run before with the 1st to 10's on GGPO.

General Discussion / Re: Xbox Live Update for KOFXIII?!
« on: April 19, 2012, 07:41:43 PM »
Did you notice anything for yourself so far?

I haven't really got the chance to put any real time in to find out. I played like one person I usually play and our connection was pretty much the same as it usually is.

Hard Knockdowns. Is there an advantage to them? If so, whats the best way to defend after being hit by them.
