The wiki says that her A Kouoh Ken is unsafe if blocked? Really?  So her only reliable ranged pokes are far D?  I use crB/stB/far for ground pokes.  I was hoping to utilize her ground FBs after I had a set vs someone who ran Ryo and his FB is a damn pain in the ass.

I was letdown with his Tears them but I see that they brought back Goodbye Esaka.  I couldn't have asked for more.  That's the best theme Kyo ever had.  If they made his Mu Shiki have an EX version instead of Orochinagi, he'd be better off.

Got Classic Iori.  TEAM REKKA(Duo Lon/EX Kyo/EX Iori) is almost complete.  I just need EX Kyo.  I may have to draft up a 3rd team since I still want to get down Robert/XIII Iori/Takuma.

This game is SVC level strict on controls. SVC took me a year to fully master the controls, even simple inputs because of how strict it is. All the commands work properly, but it allows NO sloppiness in execution. Give it time, especially with online lag it will take a lot of practice to get used to this system.
Nah. I disagree.  I've played SVC and XIII is better than that but KOF has always been against sloppy inputs so you have to be spot on.  I remember playing 00 after playing XI.  00 was strict.  I had to practice basic qcf motions.  Something I was able to do for more than 10 years.  XIII just has some madness with characters that demand you use shortcuts to get what you want.  Mix in some late cancels and links and it's a pain.

My copy of XII is collecting dust now.  Since I have XIII there's no turning back. I would be interested in playing a fully completed XII though. I thought it was interesting aside from st.C>CD>whatever combos.  Clashing is pretty badass.

Yeah, I'm also having problems landing the command grab. Is anyone having issues with his BnB -> DC command grab whiffing? I'll do cr.B, cr.A, f+A, qcb+K, DC grab and at times the grab portion just completely misses. I think it's because I started the cr.B from a bit too far away. My question is, what are my alternatives if I'm not at point blank when I start the combo?
That BNB is pretty easy.  What I've found(sure others have too) you can just do qcb+LK>hcf+P. Like one motion. It's easy as hell to DC in this game.  You could mash it if you want.  And yeah that BNB requires you to be pretty close.  If you're too far away to land a full low hit BNB, meaning you're at the tip of a max range cr.B, your only option is cr.B>far st.B>DM or Neomax. 

At neutral, I favor his far D but I'm not decent enough with Iori yet.  I may mix in some hop B/C/D.  If I'm close and they're blocking I do a string into qcb+LK.  Also you don't have to attack you can move foward and backward a bit by walking or hopping to try to bait an attack out to punish.

I dunno.... Robert always felt like a footsie/mid range fighter to me but I'm not sure on how to play him.  I need to settle this once and for all.  I need to know how to play Robert.  XIII Robert has pretty much almost every option I wanted for him and I have no idea how to play him.  Generally I do fast AA's with st.A and st.B(arcs up pretty high), zone with more A FBs with a light mix of C FBs, up close poke with cr.B,st.C, st.CD.  Dunno what to use air vs air... j.CD?

No good.  cr.B is special cancelable and you can connect EX Ranbu from it but cannot connect fwd+B.  Only cr.A/C/D can be followed up with command normals.

Have you played XIII? Pretty much the entire cast has some way to hitconfirm lights into a special attack.  If Kyo cannot special cancel his df+D, then he'll have crap but lights into DP for low hit combos.  Which is why I'm happy he can combo into rekkas from lights.  XIII Kyo can do the same thing into HCB+K.  Iori can do the same and his crB has better range than Kyo's.

I expected the netcode to be playable enough for things like basic BNBs, Drive and Super cancels.  HD combos? Nope.

Getting down EX moves 100% is a bit of a pain. Problem being is that all 4 buttons on a pad usually means just using your thumb.  Binding the LP+HP/LK+HK to a single button is kinda sloppy.  I had to redo my button layout for better results.  It's similar to what I did in GG:
X=LP
Square=LK
R1=HP
R2=HK

Like this I can easier hit B+C for activation an get down EX moves pretty easy.  I'm not used to it yet but I'm getting there.

today i got the game (hk version)... got ex iori too
anyway, while playing the arcade mode i unlocked billy and the second "new challenger" was ash.. it is normal?
Yeah, that's normal.  Billy and Saiki show after the 3rd match. You can't get both in one playthrough.  Someone said they did around 7 Target Actions per character to get Saiki.  I tried that and it worked for me.

C'mon , let's not go to the "Fuck Crapcom" route again.

I keep reading mostly good things the players say about the game, some say the online sucks, other say it's good. Whatever it is i think the overall concensus is that the game is good.
It just rubs me the wrong way because it comes off as trying to make the game look bad for giving fans what they wanted and staying true to what makes KOF good.

Anyway, back to failing trials in Mission Mode.  I thought I was not going to mess with XIII Iori much but he's satisfactory.
