PS3 player here.  I've found my online experience to be very....shall I say bipolar, leaning more to the bad side.  I played flawlessly with a friend in Virgnia once (although I lagged to hell just last night with the same friend) but had a mildly laggy experience with another in Florida.....I'm in Texas.

I feel like the netcode itself is flawed, but not horrible in any way especially compared to MK9 and the XBLA SNK titles.  And yeah the open letter is a great idea, and it's very professionally written an courteous, so I believe that SNKP/Atlus will be willing to consider the community's feedback further.

On the subject of bugs, this may have been discussed before but has anyone else had story mode totally crash on them?  I had the entire game freeze right at the ending, couldn't even use the PS3 home button.  I know I shouldn't really be concerned about story mode in a competitive fighting game, but it is nevertheless a bug, and I'd like to know if I'm not the only one that has experienced it. 

I would have no problem with any of those games, but Garou 2 has been a LONG time coming now.  That and the original Garou is one of my favorite fighting games of all time, SNK or otherwise.

When you select Takuma, press the select button while you are on the color selection menu.

Anyway, I believe the exact number of target actions for Saiki is about 50.  I counted mine and I had 50 the first time I fought him. 

As for that pic specifically, is it possible that you have to use Takuma's alternate specifically or use the Mr. Karate DLC character?

I think it's too early to judge the netcode fairly.  Give the game about a month, because every fighter I have played online had really hectic online upon release and got a lot smoother over time. 

What I do for every fighting game.  Go to training, learn my shit, then run through arcade mode to brush up.

On the subject of KOF changing...well, games do change, especially fighting games.  KOF kept the same basic gameplay formula for a very long time, even when other series like SF and Tekken would drastically change the mechanics with each new installment.  XII was also an attempt at something different, but that didn't seem to go over too well.  If it results in a quality game I'm all for change.

I think we should just be thankful for what we have.  I mean it's a damn miracle in itself that this game is going to consoles.  We're extremely lucky to get all these extra freebies too (story, color edit, what have you) seriously, anyone who cancels their pre order over something that trivial is a damn fool.

As for MVC3, it's irrelevant here but the Ultimate version is going to have a proper spectator mode.

Really though, as long as this game has decent playable netcode and not the questionable one they gave to 98 UM on XBL, I'm fine with only one on one matches. 

Yeah, I think it's pretty shitty that it's limited to two people a room, but generally I only really find myself playing with one person at a time anyway.  In fact, sometimes playing SF4 I'd get frustrated waiting for my turn to play. 

Admittedly, I'd love to be able to save replays and such. 

I just want to give props to all of you that are being mature and sticking with the game.  Getting salty an cancelling your pre order and talking about how the game is ruined because of these characters is just plain stupid. 

As for Mr. Karate, I'm expecting him to be something like....2002 invisible Kouken, SVC dragon punch and Dragon Punch DM, Shourankyaku....maybe he'll have Tsubaru O Shikouken from 02 UM.  I REALLY don't think he's just gonna be some clone like some of you guys are saying, Takuma has a pretty rich moveset history.  Besides, Hwa turned out different enough from Joe, right?
