Can you do the double dm in the corner? Or is it only near the corner?

If I wanted to learn chin, would you recommend the trial combos or are the wiki/combos in these threads much better?

EDIT: wow, I think I found my new favorite character. Hes a machine that steamrolls you into the corner haha.

This game has a high buffer window so you will have to be strict especially on pad. Make sure you don't slide your thumb from f to b. Your going to have to pick your thumb off the d-pad and hit each direction.

yup, this is the first thing i noticed about using a pad in this game. I was doing ralphs trials I think? Anyway, you cannot slide from b to f, and vice versa. You litterally have to take your thumb off the pad for each input.  A good way to get the hang of it is try doing ralphs qcf+C, b~f+A HD combo.  I noticed Ryo's trials you had to be particularily precise. Hope this helps...

Oh I was referring to shoto players and uppercut reversals haha. Im a bison player so I dont really have much to mash myself. I mean, this game doesnt rob you, where if I dropped a 1 frame link with bison I would lose half my health to some guy stirring the cauldren.

But i have noticed that I have to do my dps much more precise now...especially with all the overlapping inputs.

How are you guys using his grab dm? As kind of a tick throw? It doesnt really seem to make sense to use it in a combo

edit: You're probably holding  ;df after you run in and hit cr.B, which is adding to the problem. Make sure when you dash into cr.B you're holding down, and doing at least two cr.B to let the forward input dissipate. Running QCFs turning into DPs is a problem in every fighter, it's a system mechanic that you have to overcome via muscle memory. From what I understand you're running in and doing a single cr.B into rekkas? You should be hit confirming them anyways, so if you run in and do two cr.B you won't shortcut DP. Or you could do what the new kids are doing and run in st.B, st.C target combo hit-confirm. Safe if it's blocked, free cr.B xx Rekkas if it hits (plus st.B hits low so it's essentially cr.B).

I usually do atleast 2 cr. B for hitconfirm, but maybe I am holding   ;df, I guess it will only come from practice like you say. I'll try slowing down the inputs as well. Have any of you guys noticed sf4 affected your execution. I'm not knocking sf4 but, its nice to play a game where mashing gets you nowhere.

Alright one thing I'm having some problems with.  Sometimes when I dash in with kensou and do cr.B into rekkas his dp is coming out.  I know this is an execution problem, but it seems like there is a long time after inputing f,  that a dp will come out rather then a rekka.  What do you guys usually do for this? hcf+p?

Perhaps its somewhat character dependent and personal preferance of meter usage imo. Whether you want to drive cancel or save up for HD/Neomax. Determine how the flow of the match is going...you might have to drive cancel to get the damage when you can, if you dont have full meter.

But you do want to be able to get the most damage out of a hit confirm and whether that combo involves a neomax or not, its in your best interest to learn it. Typically, I dont see alot of point characters doing neomax combos, but I would recommend learning them for your anchor at least, especially if thats your optimum combo.

Haha Kain I watched your launch party matches. Nice abuse of the autoguard. The CD cancel into SAB is a nice fient, I didnt realize you could do that.

I only watched part of the stream live but people were saying "Clark the rapist". Where did that originate?

My online experience hasnt been that good so far. Last night I played with a friend of mine in Edmonton. Edmonton to calgary is about 300 kms.  The netcode degraded the matches to pretty much footsies. Combos were hard to pull off and blocking on reaction was sometimes impossible

Thats a nice letter nilcam. Im glad to see Dreamcancel stepped up for the best interest of the community.

yeah you can just do Ex SAB + elbow into Neomax...just do the hcf + bcd trick then cancel elbow to neomax.  Good if you only have 3 bars. Can you super cancel the grab? I thought you could just cancel the elbow...

On another note...its fun to troll online with weak SAB... lol so many ppl dont know how to deal with it.

1. if you are looking to do his Neomax... just hit confirm into HD mode... he has various easy hit confirms... Ralf has one of the best and easiest HD combos... j.C, s.C, d/f.A, HD, s.C, d/f.A, qcf.C, (b~f.A, DC, qcf.C)x4, b~f.A, Neomax does 80% for 2 meter...

I'm having trouble with b~f.A, Neomax...do you mean max cancel?

Edit: Nevermind, I didnt realize you could HD cancel into neomax, I thought they had to be max canceled from supers... Do they all work like that? Im not used to the mechanics yet.  Can you super cancel into Neomax outside of HD or is that a HD specific property?

Alot of his game/combos are gonna revolve around his ex dp.  That thing does more damage then either of his supers.  If you have the meter you can drive cancel into qcb p and do another one...plus it pushes them into the corner.  Insane damage and so easy to do.

You can even ex rdp, DC qcb p, qcf p, qcf p, ex rdp which does over 40%.
