I haven't been here for a while since I've been a real shithead and haven't been playing KOF, but I hope this makes up for it a bit.

The guy who commissioned it from me wanted his clothes switched to a green pallet.  It worked out for me because I am low on one of my shades of white and would not have been able to shade it well.

Using the sprite rips from CvS2 I pieced together these poses for the KoF '98 intro.  The way the sprites are divided up in their raw format are all completely separate. Even though this animation happens in the game, the fireballs in their hands are not specific to that sprites, so I had to do some creative editing.  I plan on making beadsprites of both Kyo and Iori and putting them on the sides of my game TV.

Welcome to DC CALF, make post you in the SoCal thread as well.

You mentioned you goto WNF, but did you ever goto TheRunBack?
I actually just found out about TheRunBack this Wednesday.  I will be there next week.

I have also played with Claw Iori, but I like Mature more because she has the rekka.

I'm completely convinced that Ryo and Robert were based on John Kreese and Terry Silver.  I'm actually surprised that other people don't make that connection.  Ryo wears a gi with the sleeves ripped off and has bushy blonde hair, like John Kreese from the Karate Kid.  Robert is rich, has a pony tail, and drives a convertible, just like Terry Silver from The Karate Kid III.  Plus in The Art of Fighting they have those strength tests where you break ice blocks, which was in the Karate Kid II.  As crazy as I may sound, I am not some obsessed fan of the Karate Kid movies, but I am sure that AoF drew a lot of influence from them.

welcome and shouts to Ryo/Robert teams.
I refer to them as John Kreese and Terry Silver.  Costume 5 for Ryo is even Cobra Kai colors. :D

Meet & Greet / Already made a first post, but here's an introduction/

I had posted two of my beadsprites over in the Fan Art Gallery page earlier.  (CvS2 Iori and Yamazaki)  I've really loved the KoF characters since CvS2, but had never got into an SNK game other than at a very casual level until recently after purchasing KoFXIII.  I have played Garou and really liked that game.  Unfortunately for me my favorite characters, Yama, Geese and Freeman, are not in XIII.  I have been experimenting around and think I have decided on who I want to play first.  Mature, Ryo and Robert, or as I like to call them Team Karate Kid III Villains + Blonde Milf.  At this point the game is still very over my head, or at least it feels that way.  I understand the different jumps somewhat from playing N-Groove occasionally, but other functions of the game like auto-guard attacks, CD moves, and the level of meter management is very intense.  I live in SoCal (Long Beach) and would love to find people to play with since I understand that the netcode requires both opponents to have fiber optic connection to get the most out of it.  I do go to Wednesday Night Fights at Super Arcade as well.

They're actually both CvS2 sprites.  I have rips of every sprite from the game and have been going though using them.  I was going to do Geese originally, but I went with Yama for submission on reddit that required sunglasses.
I do requests from anyone who wants to buy one.  The Iori was a commission from a friend.  I've made some other fighting game ones as well (CvS2 Sakura, Chun, MvC2 Magneto)
