Sweet! Thanks for the heads up with the Chicago Community FB page.
Also thanks for the tips, I definitely don't give trolls my time of day.

I've been interested in the game for a while now , but this is one of my first real efforts to get into it competitively. I actually participated in the online tourney earlier. My skill level is still pretty fresh, but I'm working on improving the holes in my gameplay.

I'm really glad I played today to get some much needed match experience.
I'm gonna review my replays and practice up.
I'm definitely gonna show up for the next tourney.

Hey guys,
So I'm interested in networking and getting to know you guys.
I want to eventually make it out to the weekly venues/events and get in some offline KOF practice.

Atm my money is limited, because I'm not working, and I don't drive (take public transportation).
Basically, the fees add up over time.

In the mean time, I just wanted to mention that I'm around and want to get more active in the near future.

Okay, so I'm finally gonna try to show up to one of these online tournies:

PSN Handle: Glenburg89
Location: Chicago, IL
Speedtest.net/Pingtest.net results:
Far:

Close:

(I think I did this correctly)

Most played team: Mai ShenYuri
Matchups you want more experience against(optional): Everyone

Although I've been interested in KOF for some time, I'm still pretty fresh when it comes to my skill level.
I want to try to make an effort to play more competitively when my financial situation improves (Ideally the Chicago scene).

Thanks a lot, Solid!
K' does make more sense, on point, since he builds meter and is safe from the get go.
Mai comes in 2nd with better reversal and damage options.
Also I agree, They can be alternated from time to time for the element of surprise.

I got a team question.
If K' and Mai is on team, who is better to put on 1st and 2nd?
So far I know that Mai is amazing on point, but could use the extra meter for more reversal options.
K' is also amazing on point and doesn't need meter to do damage, but the extra meter wouldn't hurt.
Thanks ahead of time.

Hey Matt,
Thanks for replying to my post and leaving your feedback!

I do agree about Ex Kyo being played first.
He's a solid character and battery to get things started.
I decided to go with:

Ex Kyo/Mai/Yuri

I figure this way Mai has more options available, and Yuri will come in with meter for her HD, EX, and DMs.
Good thing health is universal in this game.lol

Hey guys,
I've been messing around with EX Kyo and really like his playstyle!
I like that the cost for his execution is worthwhile when it comes to his many options.

At the moment I'm trying to see if one of these team combinations is efficient:

Point: Yuri
Middle: Ex Kyo
Anchor: Mai

or

Point: Mai
Middle: Ex Kyo
Anchor: Yuri

If you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks!

Yeah, Yuri is such a fun character to start with.

Hey guys,
I was trying to see how effective Yuri can play as a point on this team:

Yuri/Mai/Shen Woo

I came to the conclusion that Mai is better coming in with meter so she can open up her reversal options.
At the same time, Yuri has a bunch of good tools to start with.

Also, how effective is Yuri's meter building on point?

Thanks!

Wow, that tourney was mad hype!
I really like the 3 on 3 team concept.
You have to get each players best characters make sure the team is balanced.
Definitely makes for more hype.
