General Fighting Game Discussion / Re: The Blazblue Thread: Now extended
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:46:22 AM »
Seriously, Extend has the best fighting game tutorial I've ever seen. I love that the finale is a short intro to each character and their play style. I'm really enjoying this game despite not liking the previous versions.

Any footage of KOFXIII gameplay is covered by fair usage according to everything I've read.

TO be fair, Tenten has a crush on Rock Lee, making her one of the few girls in the series with sense. Sakura and Hinata have some serious issues; one's in love with a guy who threatened to kill her and, in all honestly, Naruto is about the dullest knife in the drawer.

That said, Tenten is a blast in the Wii series; dropping weapons during a combo to use other weapons is pretty badass. She also had a really good in-close game.

There is a demo of Generations on the Japanese PSN store. It's very cool; you get to play as Naruto and Sage Mode Naruto.

General Fighting Game Discussion / Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
« on: February 10, 2012, 07:20:57 PM »
I know there's a pretty strong following for the Naruto manga in the fighting game community so this seems appropriate.

Sometimes I feel like a simple fighting game with over-the-top action and excitement. That's when I play Ultimate Ninja Storm games. The new iteration will have a new combo system and, for the first time in UNS, a cancel system. This game also features some of the nicest 3D graphics ever!

Social Club / Re: Genesis or Super Nintendo?

I have to say both!

I bought the SNES first, and that was after I bought a Turbo Grafx. SNK games on the Turbo CD were pretty amazing... Anyway, I went with the SNES due to SFII, Zelda and it had a lot of good beat-em-ups and stuff. I later bought a Genesis for the X-Men games and because Diehard Gamefan magazine was always talking about how well the Genesis handled SNK ports.

If you want a stick that works easily with PC, there's this one: http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Fighting-Stick-V3-Playstation-3/dp/B0057WDBHA/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1328642253&sr=1-1

It's PS3 and PC compatible, no muss, no fuss. That Wii stick is all Hori parts and it pretty decent. It's definitely better than X Arcade.

It's not a very good stick. The PCB is laggy, the parts are cheap Happ clones and the sticks are too close to each other. I bought one and gave up on it rather quickly.

According to pingtest.net, my ping is pretty stable, usually between 20 and 24ms. I did a speed test before and after we played and got a lower speed rating than the last few sessions. I am on cable and I am baffled by the results to say the least. When it's good, it's really good; when it's bad, it's awful.

Sorry, DRN. We're a KOF community and this is not KOF related.

I played some games with Desmond this morning with much better results. There was a tiny bit of input lag but it was quite playable. I had some trouble with simple links like King's B, dp+B but that's to be expected.

42
Most of the blue matches I've had have run slower than the game normally runs and usually have had frame drops. I've also experienced more input delay. I'm not sure where the problem lies. My connection is rather good (25d/9u with 20-24ms ping) and is not shared.

43
I'm glad I have a local scene, even it is rather small.

My post-patch results are horrible. I checked all of my settings and reinstalled the game and the patch and still not good. The blue matches are slower than offline and strangely glitchy and the green bars are laggy enough that blocking is near impossible.

That is kinda weird to hear man, I think a lot of my blue matches are really good, while the greens are good, but I stay away from yellows and reds.

Are you sure no one is leeching off of your connection or anyone else in the house? What are you up and down speeds and pings?

My router is secure and I've got 25down/9up with a 20ms ping. I should be good to go.

The SFxT image has a better flow to it. The KOF art looks like a simple mish mash of images.

I'm a big fan of simple stick art because I hate it when characters have a stick growing out of them or are hidden under buttons.
