Thanks for the response. I'll keep an eye on those players you mentioned.

What do you guys think about this boycott from eLive Pro? They made an announcement saying they will not be sending any players to compete in tournaments for game companies that are supporting SOPA. I know this effects players who are playing SF4 2012 since Capcom is part of the ESA and ESA is pro SOPA. I'm not sure if SNK-P or ATLUS are part of the ESA so I'm not if this effects KoFXIII players.

If they are then wouldn't this prevent players such as Mr.KOF from entering tournaments?

It's really unfortunate since I just want to see the best players compete but I understand how bad SOPA is going to be for all of us if it gets passed.

KOF XIII WP Cup beginning right now
http://pt-br.twitch.tv/wpgames

Since this is my first competitive KoF I don't know any of the top players outside of North America. Is there anybody in that stream I should take note of? I only caught the grand finals and it was a complete blow out.

I'm only going to transcribe the last two combos in the video.

j.C, s.C, df+C, HD, s.C, df+C xx DP+A, [HDC] QCB+B [HDC] DP+C, df+C xx DP+C, QCB+B, [HDC] DP+C, QCB+B [HDC] DP+C, QCB+B, QCB+A, DP+A, Neo Max

j.C, s.C, df+C, HD, s.C, df+C xx DP+A, [HDC] QCB+B [HDC] DP+C, df+C xx DP+C, QCB+B [HDC] DP+C, QCB+B, QCB+A, QCF, HCB+A, Neo Max

What I've noticed when doing these combos, is that the juggle df+C doesn't seem to connect if your right next to the opponent in the corner. It could just be me but whenever I'm just outside of the corner I have no problems landing the juggle df+C. If someone could verify this for me I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, for a midscreen-to-corner HD combo this is excellent. 931 damage and a 100% for 2 and 3 meters, respectively, is incredible.

Ah, thanks for the information. I noticed doing that will scale the combo quite a bit but at least it's an easier hit confirm.

In terms of cross up set-ups here are the ones I found.

Forward Throw, small hop j.C
You have to wait slightly as your opponent is getting up then small hop j.C. Delay the j.C a bit to hit it as deep as possible.

hop j.CD, land, hop j.C

This was is a lot more tricky as the spacing of where the j.CD is blocked determine whether the hop j.C crosses up, not crosses up, or whiffs. If you hyper hop j.CD from two character spaces away and hit towards the top of the opponent's crouching hit box then a hyper hop j.C (with the j.C delayed a bit) will cross up. If you time the j.C too late it'll whiff and if you time it too soon it won't cross up, which is good in itself. If the j.CD is blocked deeper then the j.C will never cross up.

If you do something like c.Bx2, hop j.CD, land, hop j.C you can cross up the opponent as well. Again, you want to hit towards the top of your opponents hitbox so that it puts you at the right spacing for the j.C to cross up. Timing the j.C a bit later is necessary for the cross up otherwise you end up having it hit in front or whiffing altogether.

Keep in mind these cross ups only work if the opponent is crouching. I haven't played around if they are standing but from my experiences with KoF you're either jumping or super jumping for a standing opponent cross up.

See you guys at Evo. :p

Once I have meter, d.B x2, EX qcf+P, f+B, dp+A and if I have a drive cancel on the first hit qcf+C, f+D and you can do the following after.

I am really confused with this combo. Do you have to run forward to hit the DP+A?

Benimaru Nikaido / Re: Benimaru Nikaido (Console)

eLive Pro Dune also said Benimaru was pretty close to being a top tier character not quite there.

Mr.KoF and Reynalds were also using Benimaru at SCR and there was some really good play from them.

I think he's a really good character with every tool necessary to do well. It seems like he has to be played in a very specific manner to make him effective.

Huh, really? I'll give that a shot. I'm still getting used to the qcf+C cancel so I never took the time to learn how to f+A that. Will give it a shot. That's free extra damage.

After reading through this thread (I just picked up K' a few days ago) it looks like you can maximize meterless damage by doing f+A, j.CD, QCB+K instead of f+A, DP+C, f+D. I'll have to do some more playing around. The combo videos in this thread was an eye opener to me. Lots of stuff I didn't realize were possible with the character. I really hope I can get the F, D, F shortcut down for the DP+A drive cancel QCF+C because HCB~F+A can get really annoying for me if I have an off day on my execution.

After the qcf+C, f+D you should change the ender to f+A, DP+C, f+D for slightly more damage. If you want to spend bar, instead of f+A you can do j.CD, QCB+KK, land, DP+C, f+D or j.CD, land, QCF, HCB+PP, TK QCB+K.

-Should update the 4 stock combos as 3 stock combos because of the console changes making Neomax cancels costs 2 bars instead of 3.

-Might help newer people if you have a brief note indicating that any of the combos involving double A DP's need to be done at the lowest juggle height possible.

-I would like to add that Elisabeth can combo into her s.C off of a meaty c.B. Particular useful setups are after an air reset from her typical air juggles, which adds to her mix up game in the corner.

-Also, might be useful to add match up specific information if anyone has anything to contribute. Something like listing the optimal punishes on common scenario's against certain characters. For example, if you block Duo Lon's Rekka x 3 and the player does QCF+K after the third Rekka, which they will most definitely do to stay as safe as possible, Elisabeth can punish with either QCF, HCB+P or C DP into a full combo. Miscellaneous information like that can help.

I was testing sample block strings into B/D Crack Shoot and Elisabeth can punish with her Command Grab, but it's spacing dependent. Basically, a simple c.A, c.B, c.C xx B Crack Shoot puts him outside of command grab range. If Terry is using crack shoot while you are in the corner it's a free command grab, which should indicate that the command grab is 1f. If he does a block string into crack shoot that puts him right next to Elisabeth he gets command grabbed. I've tested this by recording the training dummy to do a block string into crack shoot then hold up.

The Top 16 and 5v5 on Day 1 was awesome. Top 4 on Day 2 blew my mind with amazing plays from all players. Good shit for keeping KoF as hype as possible and it looks like the game is picking up more momentum around the world.

Okay, I need some match up help with Elisabeth.

Having a hard time dealing with Billy Kane and Terry Bogard at the moment. Billy's f+A is super annoying to deal with and outside of a random EX DP, I can't really see any way around this move. On top of that Billy's pokes are super annoying to deal with and Elisabeth's normal range is very limited. Once I get in, it's doable with a few mix ups but anything outside of that range is super difficult.

Terry Bogard's crack shoot pressure seems super retarded for me. Outside of blow backs, I can't find anyway to deal with it. The hitbox is also really good hitting me out of the air or catching the recovery of my roll and then sucking me in for the rest of the hits. I can shrink my hitbox with c.A or c.D in certain ranges but when getting pressured I can't really do much.

General Discussion / Re: KOF13 Canadian Stream
« on: December 15, 2011, 11:32:05 AM »
Thank you to all 69 viewers who caught the stream since apparently WNF's stream went down for a bit. Definitely wasn't expecting that many views. Really appreciate all the support people gave and hope to hear some feedback on helping us develop our KoF game. There's a lot we don't know, and personally I'm very hungry to get better at this game. I know a few of us here want to start traveling to US majors to get more KoF experience.

Meet & Greet / New player from Alberta
« on: December 06, 2011, 12:23:24 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm new to Dream Cancel and I'm from the Edmonton, Alberta area. There are about 5-8 of us in Edmonton who are making KoFXIII are main fighting game. We're hoping to grow the local scene and expand it out to our rival cities as well but it's pretty tough with Capcom games being the more dominant force. We play every Wednesday at a LAN center called OverKlocked. If you're in the area future information about our local gatherings can be found here.

http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php?topic=1592.0

We will be streaming our casuals every Wednesday at http://www.twitch.tv/gameoverdamage. KoFXIII is our first competitive KoF title so we're still learning a lot about the game. Any constructive feedback on how we can improve will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
