Why I'll be a good Beta Tester:
I've been playing PC online games for over 13 years now.  I'm no stranger to netcode, and I know about everything I must do to optimize the experience so that I can judge accurately what my experience with the KOFXIII netcode is, whereas others I've witnessed have had personal connection problems which they associate with the netcode instead of themselves.

I'm also on a WIFI connection.  While this may not seem ideal, it's a good idea to test the netcode on several different networking setups to make sure the netcode can handle various networks.  WIFI traditionally has minor issues with packetloss, and finding out how well KOFXIII can handle this issue will be extremely important for everyone and not just Wireless users.

I've also played KoFXIII since release and have played many other fighting games so that I'm no stranger to the FGC.  Knowing how to test the netcode with advanced play is extremely important as it will shed the most light on what level of play is possible with this netcode.

Dude netcode is garbage and unstable not my internet connexion.... that is why you can rarely find people to play online..at least on the ps3.Only good connexion is with a dude who lives a few km from me LMAO.

Imput lag kills the game that is why nobody plays online...nah just forget.Have fun at the tournaments and that no lag online you have LMAO

sounds like someone who got owned pretty quickly to me.

maybe you should actually play a bit instead of cry so much that the internet is terrible, and realize that kof will be at every major tournament up to evo this year.

but thanks for playing

Thread closing in 3, 2, 1...

and its because people want to debate how someone made their tierlist instead of the actual tierlist.

Oh. Zoning characters like King would be tough to face online. If this really is all of your experience then it makes sense now.

er..King is pretty up there offline too.  zoning would give her a slight edge for it being online but it's not taking away anything she already has.  zoning is good but its not why she's probably in the top characters.

most people dont even play terry correctly.

terry does not need buffs.  and you shouldn't be using crackshoot outside of blockstun so that they CAN mash cr B anyways. and you don't even use crackshoot for the guard break because people can grab you after blocking it.

crackshoot certainly doesnt need to overhead.

the only possible buff terry needs is Are you okay?! back.

there's many other uses for the damage scaling freeze bug.  mature, chin (unpractical), saiki, athena, terry, k'...anyone who has a multi hitting fireball you can use to start combo'ing with you can do a dm or another ex move after it and suffer from no damage scaling.  because mature and athena can actually combo into their stuff, you can have parts of the combo where there's no ADDED damage scaling, but its already BEING scaled since its in the middle of the combo.

so its not just chin and mature.  however, i don't discuss this much on the forums since most of the people i talk to go to the #snkplaymore irc on efnet.  that and people arent responding on the forums for the most part :p

A good time with your favorite fighting games

Hello everyone, I'm nax and while I'm a newcomer to the KoF community in general, I'm quite an old member of GGPO, and I've been streaming games for awhile now such as MK9, speedrunning, and so forth.

Along with some members of the #SNKPlaymore irc on efnet, I've created GGPO Live which, obviously enough, is a stream that deals with playing our beloved games on GGPO and letting anyone, even without GGPO, watch such matches.  Another problem with GGPO is the main lobby chats for each game tend to have very little English, and while I don't discriminate between people, I really wanted to have a place where you can not only spectate but also talk to others without a constantly zooming chat window of different languages.

Many of us are KoF players of course, but I'd like to stretch out to any GGPO game, even veterans of say Metal Slug X who can bust through the game without so much as a continue, and basically any kind of gaming feat with GGPO.  I and others will stream our own games, or if there's someone particularly good playing, we'll spectate them and just provide a good entertainment.  I also plan on streaming live footage of the various GGPO Online Tournaments to give a bigger perspective and generally just bring alot more hype to this amazing program.

I would like to invite anyone who has any experience with streaming in general or those who would love to start doing so to contact me and I can help get you set up through the channel.  While I wouldn't be opposed to the occasional streaming of a newer game or a non GGPO game, I would like to keep it mostly GGPO-Centric, but I'm sure we're all fighting game fans here.

I will try to get the ball rolling by doing some occasional GGPO spec'ing / streaming (although I might not be the best, I can often find a good match to watch for everyone).  Also, there is a GGPO KOF02 Tournament coming up which I'm sure will have tons of excellent matches to watch and I plan on giving a good opportunity for people to get in, watch some good matches, and chill.  More details on that to come!

Thanks for your time!

General Discussion / Re: Damage Scaling in KOF 13, and a problem
« on: December 04, 2011, 08:22:01 PM »
well like i said i don't think its a "bug" so much as a system that's actually working correctly.  but it seems that snk didn't realize it could happen with certain situations.  so its really more of an oversight than a bug.

my deal is though im just hoping there's no other really obvious usages to this issue that might be more abuseable.

if not, this information on damage scaling may help people design more combo efficient combos by attempting to try to make it so that you hit quicker after another hit and using the least hd cancels as you can.
