SNK Funding Netcode?

Quit using those corny-ass meme pictures, please.

Then quit asking for better netcode please.  We both know that SNK isn't going to do shit about the netcode.  If they do, I'll be there to support it, but I know they aren't going to fix shit.  They lucked into it or stumbled into it with the second/third batch of Neo Geo station games, but that was honestly a fluke.  SNK giving good netcode?  Sounds Greek to me brother.

With free KOF 13 maybe we'll get more close players to play with.  That'll be nice.

That was my exact thought.. Can't wait. Btw how does this thing work? Does Sony pay companies to get games free for psn plus users?

EDIT: On second thought the ppl getting the game now will be ultra casuals. I bet every FGfan has KOF XIII in his collection already.

From what I was told, Sony pays them say 50-100 grand up front for the game being on sale.  It gives SNK money, and exposure.  Will SNK make more money if they sold the game?  Possibly, but this is guaranteed money from doing this.  Not as much if they sold those copies themselves, but any cash influction is good if it doesn't even require work.

Also it helped Gearbox immensely.  They gave away Borderlands earlier and they made even more money off of it.  Not just from the bulk sales, but from getting people who never saw borderlands get it for free and then make them want Borderlands 2.  It was a great promotion and probably helped Gearbox get an extra stack of sales for Borderlands 2.

On CvS3 topic, I am confident that the FG community is waiting anxiously for it and Capcom knows it.

And Capcpom is waiting for another 90/10 split again giving SNK nothing yet again.

Hell just invest in netcode and put in another three dlc characters, release a complete version and give that netcode patch to the old version as goodwill.  Do this and I'll buy a second copy and the dlc copy just to show support.  I got my money ready, now does SNK have the goodwill to fix the netcode?

You think them putting it on the online storefronts is because of the success at evo?  This stuff is usually announced ahead of time not the week before an update, especially for a niche release.

General Fighting Game Discussion / Ever feel like the feature set of fighters online isn't up to snuff?

Every fighting game I see has the same generic crap modes and rankings as everyone else.  I'd like to see some variation.  If I helmed a fighter, I'd add these to online games.

Top 100 dangerous players

A list where the top 100 best players would be ranked.  Disconnect % would be capped at 1-3% max to make sure their wins are actual wins instead of disconnects to prevent losses.  It would be to show what to aim for, this group has their replays saved and can be viewed by anyone.

Up and Coming

A section where players who are making a rise and starting to get good appear.  Shows win and loss and compared to previous weeks and so forth.

Rage Quitters

Anyone above 10% disconnect rate would be displayed here proudly.  Like Alpha 3, there is NO ESCAPE!  Also to penalize these people and take a cue from Capcom, the only people they can play against are OTHER rage quitters.

Duel

Capcom has the player points and battle points but that goes to anyone.  There needs to be a mode where you can personally challenge someone and bet points and some of that stuff.  I'd personally call it Pimp Status.  Your online character is represented with clothing and the more pimp status you have, the more you get to decorate your character.  If you lose your pimp status, you get downgraded to john clothing.  Pimp Status is only increased or decreased by personal duels.

I feel like there's so much that can be done, yet we get the same regurgatated modes over and over again.  BLEH.

I can see into the future.  This is what will happen.

Vice and Mature will be given flesh for a job well done.  They will return and be even more powerful.  If they were spirits, why did Mature require an eyepatch?  If she was a spirit, couldn't she come back as her 96 form without the misshapen look?  She's probably a wraith.

Yamazaki will make a return and fight Iori Yagami and beat him.

Chin will remember he has a rope on his gourd, and we will call that Chin EX and he will be in KOF 14.

Ralf will defy gravity and get his LARF kick back.  He will also remember how to throw people in the air.

Clark will remember there is more than two throws and start rolling around the stage again and tackle people.

Even though we tried to pray the gay away, Ash Crimson will return and Elizabreasts will chew him out.  He will like it and continue to wear designer clothes.

Btw what is the point of a digital download at this point?

So I don't have to put the damn disc in.  I'm in for it.  I"ll have the disc to take to friends and the digital download for myself.  Keep an animu rpg in the drive while still having KOF 13 on the hard drive.  Sounds sweet to me.

Great tourney, Tokido VS Romance the first time was the most fun.

Grand Final was pretty anti-climactic though, as per usual when it contains Bala. Hoping for something a little more hype inducing at Evo.

The rankings were as I see them right now in the US, 1. Bala 2. Reynald 3. Romance.

And yeah Jucebox and Answer were great, they both have great knowledge of the game and a solid chemistry together. Best commentator duo for KOF easily.

Basically.  You should have saw all the smack talk those Weaboo dick suckers were doing.  Hyping up Tokido saying he was going to smear bala and show them the glorious nippon always prevails.  Then Bala did this to Tokido



And like 20% of them leave right after that fight and several said Tokido doesn't play KOF anyways.  It was hilarious.
