Anyone here know of any sites that have general Fatal Fury match videos? I'll try Nico Douga, and repost what I can find on youtube. Also thinking of doing BnB combo videos. Will start write up on Joe and Andy soon. may do the rest of the cast and do general gameplay demonstration videos, I wish more people knew about RB2.

I feel like trying to do write ups for RB2 characters, namely Joe and Andy. This is mainly because there really isn't much discussion on the Garou Densetsu series, or SNK in general unfortunately. Should I do it? Also, I won't be really up for supercade matches until at least January.  Neo, how did you get arclive to work? I was only able to barely connect for a match of KOF '95. Anyone up for some KOF '95 sometime?

Anyone play this on GGPO? I'd like to learn the game more.

Anyone on here play this on GGPO?

I also want to say that I am enjoying 02UM, but not much in online play. Seeing as there's no scene or a group of people at least who play it consistently in Norcal, online's my only option right now.

Training Room / Re: SNK Term Encyclopedia
« on: November 18, 2010, 11:02:32 PM »
OCV= one character victory

Technically not the SNK term.  "Straighting" is the official '98 SNK term as seen in the score screen (I dunno if they still have that).

"Straight" is used in other games too, it just means you won without losing a partner/round. Capcom/others haves "Complete Bonus". OCV is just a tournament-related term used by players.

MVS: Multi Video System, the SNK Neo Geo as an arcade system. Multiple game carts can be inserted inside and games can be easily switched without turning the cabinet off.

AES: Advanced Entertainment System, the SNK Neo Geo as a home console, can play the actual arcade game carts, with 100% arcade perfect graphics, sound, etc. Infamous for being expensive at the time of its release. Still is expensive due to the system being a little on the rare side, due to its limited success.

KOF 2002 UM is the best 2d fighting game up to date. It kicks SF4 in so many ways. Capcom is targeting the casuals while SNKp the veteran fighting gamers. That's why you see an ultra that takes away 60% of your life while in KOF you actually have to learn to combo to achieve that damage.

Now to answer your question
From the OP I can tell that your friends are more into the 3d fighting gaming since you didn't mention blazblue or MVC. SNKp tried using 1 vs 1 in KOF MI. That did well on the casuals but the fans of the game didn't like it at all. Having 3 different characters in your team will balance their advantages and disadvantages.
FOR example: Can you please tell me how a Makoto can win a Sagat or Vega in SSF4? the disadvantages of her are too many against those 2. Now if it was Ryu/Makoto/Bison VS Vega/Sagat/Ken for example one's disadvantage against cartain characters will be minimized. Unfortunately in SSFIV their is a character that cancels others (fireball>grapping, grapping>combo characters, combo characters>fireball) . If you are up against that character no matter how good you are you still have a disadvantage. That's why 80% of the online matches are VS Ryu. People tend to take the safe road.

The underlined point is why I'm glad I got into KOF when I gave it a try after being disappointed with Street Fighter 4. KOF13 is what I'm looking forward to, including a new Guilty Gear or at least XX Accent Core rereleased on XBL/PSN. Bold point is why I'm sad about fighting games and video games in general nowadays. They're made to be "casual-friendly", but it's not that hard at all, just practice and dedication. I grew up playing a lot of games that were hard at first, but I got better. Are people too lazy for that now? I guess so.  Why buy a game  if you decide not to get best as you can, but just go bare minimum, and show people online that your skills are bare minimum?

Also, alfred isn't playable in the Neo Geo right?
No but he's playable if you can debug it. Easier on an emulator though. Just turn dipswitch 8 on, hold BC on player menu and press either A or D (works on any character).

Biggest factors why Alfred easily beats the game though is not only does he have really good attacks, the AI becomes really stupid when fighting him. Kim would just keep dashing and taunting for example, even on highest difficulty.

Oh wow. Well, does anyone play this on Supercade or Arclive?

I'd like a new Fatal Fury, either Real Bout or MOTW style. And older characters being brought back would be awesome too.

Fair warning, I'm not that good on this one compared to 98UM, so it would be cool if I could learn some things.
