Nope. It's completely free if you have a Gold Account. All you have to do is just deal with 15-20 second ads.

I just got beat down by MastaCJ 5-0, some replays coming later tonight or tomorrow.  I would've replayed them all..but I'm still too habitual in going past the replay screen.

Isn't that the UMvC3 player who plays on a 360 pad or something?

It's basically free Netflix with 15-20 second ads every 30 or so minutes. I don't know if it's on the PS3 network aswell but I do not know since I do not own a PS3. If it is on the PS3 network, someone let the others know. Cheers!

Anyone know what brand of stick he is using? I don't think I've ever seen a Korean player playing on a bat top stick.

Would you guys suggest getting the Hori Commander 3 over the Commander 3 Pro then? Or should I just get a Saturn pad I found modded with a PS2 pcb and then use converters?

I think a Garou 2 with a refined Just Defend mechanic would get more casuals in. That and I;d like to see the Line Sway return.

Out of curiosity, is it true you live in NY? If so, what part of NY?

If we really do want to see Rock back, I think we better stick to hoping that a Garou 2 will indeed be made one day. I don't know, something just tells me that a lot more people would pay more attention to a game like that mainly because it's one on one instead of 3 vs 3 with rounds in it.

As for KOf13 Climax, if they are just rebalancing things, I'm all for it. But I can see why people would want at least one or two characters added in there. I love this game don't get me wrong, but it just feels empty to me without some of the more interesting characters like Yamazaki and Heavy D not being there.

There are tons of good KOF players that use pad only, it is not what you use but how you use it. It is all preference.

And yes, I agree with DaddyCane on how sticks can be really noisy sometimes, so if you play on pad, you have that advantage of listening to them mash and stuff.

You know, I still don't understand how you having the ability to listen to a player hitting his buttons translates into an advantage. unless each button makes a distinct sound so you know exactly which attacks will be coming your way then I can understand. but if someone is mashing, well....that's where I'm lost.

and while on the topic of pads which ones do you guys prefer to use? (if you use them at all for fighting games)

i've always preferred the standard xbox 360 d-pad over most of the ones that i use(i know im crazy)

this was going to be my next question and no, you are not alone. since I've been playing on the 360 for years, it's the d-pad I'm most used to. but I will say, I did cut out the extra rubber padding from the diagonal sides when HDRemix came out and have been playing it since. Although right now, I have been using a PS3 pad to play MK in and I may pick it up for KOF13 aswell. I also have an original Saturn Pad I recently picked up that I'm considering modding with a PS2 PCB.

Is it humanly possible to play KOf13 at a high level using a pad? This was something I was talking with a friend of mine and we noticed that there are basically no top level players out there using any kind of pad playing this game or any other KOf for that matter.

Are you and jt4 going to be running Garou again? I won't make it there early for the MK9 and KOF13 tournaments but I'm sure I can make the Garou side tourney.

Truth be told, I think the 360 gets the shaft a lot when it comes to pads for fighting games. I know some people have bought the Hori Commander Pro and dual modded it but that will rack up the bill on the pad big time if you want to go that route.

I recently tried the Mad Catz pad and it was alright. Almost felt like a Saturn pad but I've heard bad things about it. And speaking of Mad Catz, they are re releasing that same pad but it will be aparently 15% smaller although the dpad seems raised on it. It looks kinda goofy but I'll wait and see when it comes out to see if it's a good alternative.

And btw let me say one thing. I've been playing a lot of MK9 recently and I have to play with a PS3 pad. I really don't know why people give that controller so much crap. The one I play on is very responsive and everything I do comes out perfectly. The only thing that I would say about it negatively is that the triggers do sometimes feel very sensitive and sometimes I have to mash on them to get the input out.

I tried out the PS2 pad recently and I honestly could not deal with it. Since I play with the majority of my thumb on the dpad, I could feel that it would have ripped my thumb in due time if I kept going with it.

I would love ranbats but Sunday's are very bad for me. Best days are Friday or sat for me usually

And that would be the problem for me since I work overnights on those days. Right now, I'm usually off Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. And if LB is going to be doing these every Thursdays, it sure will be hard for me to choose which to go to between KOF13 and MK9 :(

I'm off all Sundays. Is anyone willing to start some ranbats in Brooklyn at Next Level? I figure maybe sometimes in the afternoons and having it end at 9-10PM just so people can get home at a reasonable time. Is anyone down for this idea?

Guys I know it's super short notice but this Thursday is a venue free kof tourney in the evening. Let's go!!!

Where? I usually always reserve Thursdays for Mortal Kombat casuals at VSM in LI though but I'll consider this.
